Another abbreviated match week has been completed thanks to unseasonably cold and snowy weather. A match between NK Osijek and NK Inter Zaprešić was postponed to a later date due to heavy snow fall, but the remaining matches went on as scheduled.
Friday kicked off the weekend with a scoreless draw between NK Istra 1961 and HNK Cibalia. The lone point did very little for either club, but beggars cannot be choosers and both sides will probably be pleased with the draw.
Hajduk Split took care of business and bounced back after a poor performance last week with a 1-0 win over NK Rudeš at Poljud. Adam Gyurcso scored the match’s lone goal and grabbed all three points for the Bili, who celebrated their 107th birthday last week. Karlovačko Brewery celebrated by releasing Karlovačko Bila which was presented to the team at the stadium.
Dinamo Zagreb took care of business on Sunday, despite cold weather and light snowfall the previous night. Mario Gavranović scored his debut goal for his new club in the 1-0 win.
Rijeka tallied three goals against NK Lokomotiva at Rujevica Sunday in a 3-1 win. The three points put the club ahead of Osijek, but Osijek did not play this weekend and could surpass Rijeka later this week. Heber, Antonio Colak, and Zoran Kvržić all found the back of the net for Rijeka.
Rijeka and Dinamo will face off on Wednesday for a make up match. Kick off is 11 am EST.
