The UFC has signed Brando “The Balkan Bear” Peričić (4-1), who will make his promotional debut against fellow debutant Elisha Ellison (5-1) in Perth, Australia, on September 28, 2025 (September 27 in North America).
The 6’5”, 264-pound heavyweight hails from South Australia and proudly represents his Croatian heritage in the cage. Peričić moved to New Zealand three years ago to train at the world-renowned City Kickboxing gym, home of former two-time middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
One of the most feared heavyweight kickboxers in the Oceania MMA scene, Peričić’s record stands at 4-1 due to numerous fight cancellations over the past five years, with many of his scheduled opponents pulling out.. Despite this, his striking and power have earned him a strong reputation, making his UFC debut highly anticipated in the region. With him training at one of the best gyms in the world and surrounded by elite fighters, Peričić should be well prepared for the step up in competition.
He will become the third active Croatian fighter in the UFC, joining newly signed heavyweight Ante Delija and light heavyweight Ivan Erslan. There’s potential for a fourth if undefeated middleweight Ðani Barbir (7-0) secures a contract through Dana White’s Contender Series in the coming months.
With Stipe Miočić’s recent retirement, the next wave of Croatian MMA talent will be exciting to watch. While Peričić may not have the most extensive MMA record, his hype across Australia and New Zealand makes him a fighter to watch. His debut promises to be a showcase of skill, power, and heart, and he’ll be counting on strong Croatian support as he steps into the Octagon.
Nice!, he might though have to put down the six Karlovacko brothers before he replaces Stipe.
OFB crashed out after Leon Grgic lol

Similar to Ivanovic, Austria tried to cap him to their Senior NT in June, but he declined
Really nice to see Ivanovic, now Grgic, make these decisions (with, at the time, zero certainty, they would/will be called up to Croatia Senior NT)
