GNK DINAMO ZAGREB 1 – 0 RNK SPLIT
Fan-favorite and Dinamo newcomer, El Arbi Hillel Soudani, scored the solitary goal in a match that was marked by intense heat that made playing conditions difficult for players.
Sudani’s goal came after 88 minutes of scoreless play, and gave Dinamo the three points they needed to remain tied for the top spot on the HNL table.
A noticeable absence in Dinamo’s lineup was defender/midfielder, Luis Ibanez, who has gone back to his native Argentina where he will remain on loan at Racing Club until 2014.
HNK HAJDUK SPLIT 2 – 1 NK HRVATSKI DRAGOVOLJAC
Franko Andrijašević put up two tallies to bring his team to victory against Hrvatski Dragovoljac at Poljud this weekend.
The Volunteers are still looking for their first win of the season, but were unable to get it in Split.
Andrijašević scored his first goal in the 19th minute, sending his team into half time with the lead.
The 22-year-old and recently capped Croatian international would double his tally and team’s lead in the 65th minute. Andrijašević’s goals were his first and second goals of the season.
The Volunteers put up a fight, but were unable to keep pace with Hajduk.
They were awarded a consolation goal in the 75th minute when Danijel Zlatar scored his first goal of the season. Dragovoljac’s schedule will not get any easier in their hunt for three points, as they face Dinamo at home next weekend.
NK ZADAR 1 – 2 HNK RIJEKA
Zadar put up a valiant effort on their home field against Rijeka over the weekend, but the mighty Rijeka still do not know defeat, and took the match two goals to one.
Marko Lešković opened the scoring for the visitors in the 29th minute when he met the ball with his head and scored the first goal of the game.
Zadar had several opportunities to equalize, but they had to wait until the second half before they could capitalize on any chances.
Josip Ivančić managed to bring his team back on par with his 58th minute goal.
Zadar tried to hang on, but it was Leon Benko who once again puled through for Rijeka and earned them all three points.
NK OSIJEK 2 – 1 NK SLAVEN BELUPO
Slaven Belupo is, too, looking for their first win of the season. This past weekend, they traveled to the Garden City in search of three points, but were ousted by the home team, NK Osijek.
The two teams seemed evenly matched throughout the first have, going tit for tat in play.
The two teams even traded penalties in the 36th and 40th minute, which both clubs converted.
But it was Osijek who scored the decisive second-half goal that earned them the victory.
Tomislav Sorsa scored in the 59th minute to be the hero for the home side.
NK ISTRA 1961 – NK LOKOMOTIVA
Lokomotiva really turned up the drama on Monday with their come-from-behind victory in the 89th minute.
Istra controlled the majority of the match, dominating in possession and chances on goal. They also took the lead when Sandi Kržman scored in the 64th minute.
Istra coach , Igor Pamić, made a bold statement prior to the match stating that he does not think Lokomotiva is a very strong team this year and should be easy to beat. It seemed that way at first, but the Lokosi fought back.
In the 86th minute, 19-year-old Peter Mišić tied up the match with his first goal of the season. His goal was quickly followed by 18-year-old Marko Pjaca’s game-winning goal that stunned the home team and its fans.
Lokomotiva now is the sole owner of first place in the HNL, ahead of Dinamo and Hajduk by two points.
I was raised right, im just stating fucking facts, i aint ignorant
Your parents failed you for writing some of the shit on this site, but fuck you gota say how you feel!
i didnt mean can one technically be half and half.. obviously that can happen
what i meant is, what cunt would answer when you asked them what nationality they are “oh im half-serb and half-croat”
as if.. SURELY people choose one/are raised as one etc.. what fucker in their right mind says half and half ? u cant be half a cunt (half-serb) after all
hypothetically, if you’re half serb/half croat, with your dad being Croat and your mom Serb – your father failed you even before you were conceived.
@iggy
Of course you can be half Croatian or half Serbian. Drazen Petrovic, a legend in Croatia, his father was of Serbian ethnicity and was born in the village of Zagora in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His mother was Croatian. He chose to play for Croatia and considered himself Croatian. Hate or love it, that is the truth, C’mon, Petrovic? That is a Serbian name.
My friend’s father is Serbian and his Mother is Croatian. He is Christian Orthodox, he was raised Serbian. But he still acknowledges he is half Croatian. If anyone asked him what is nationality is, he would say ” Half Serb and Half Croat, but I was raised Serbian.”
He respects Croatia and roots for them in soccer since he is big soccer fan, obviously Serbia is his first choice, but in world cup 1998 he rooted for Croatia when Yugoslavia got knocked out by Holland. And in Euro 2004 he rooted for Croatia, World Cup 2002 he rooted for Croatia cause Serbia was not in it. Even in World Cup 2006 he rooted for Croatia to beat Australia since Serbia was getting their ass handed to them in their group, which was a tuff group with Argentina, Holland and Ivory Coast, and Vidic was injured in that World Cup 2006 and did not play. Euro 2012 he wanted Croatia to get into the second round because he is half Croatian and wanted a Balkan country to beat Italy and Spain to prove that most Balkan teams are good in soccer and could hang with the big boys.
Therefore, Yes you can be half Croatian and half Serbian. Just depends what religion you are and what you represent.
@ CroatHrvat
We will gain at least a point in our upcoming fixtures, effectively securing 2nd place.
@ Ziva
Market-Value is whatever someone is willing to pay. In this case, if Real is willing to fork-over £85m–than that is the market price.
Does it make sense, no. Is it intrinsic value, no. If a 24 year-old Ronaldo traded at £80m in 2009, and Bale, now at 24, is nowhere near as good as Christiano was then. Then a 20% discount could be supported arriving at £64m price for Bale.
This makes sense, and it would still make him the biggest transfer of summer. And at £85m, Levy should cash in on his stock.
And I see no problem with Levy trying to get as much as he can for his players. He’s doing what is best for his club. They are a smaller club, and they need transfer fee revenue.
How much do you drink and smoke Iggy
Iggy lame o
so Iggy you are half savo & half franjo ? u might have some mujo in you to..
can u be half croat and half serb?
surely you’re one or the other
@CroatHrvat
Don’t worry. It’s not going to end that way.
The odds of Serbia finishing with three straight wins is even more unlikely than us finishing with three straight losses. They are a very inconsistent team, and have loss-potential against any opponent they play. This group is a two-horse race.
However, we’re are very unlikely to finish first even with a win against Belgium. I believe with FIFA rules, it goes goal differential ahead of head-to-head, no?
Either way, we’ll at least get a point in Serbia. Probably tie Belgium, and the final game against Scotland will be meaningless, but we’ll play well in this revenge match and take the win for a pat-on-the-back morale boost (just like the last qualifying round’s final match against Latvia).
Mateo getting some love:
http://sports.yahoo.com/news/inter-milan-hopes-rebuild-coach-162200835–sow.html
In other news Nastasic should be injured for the game next month.
I’m quite concerned and I will tell you why. Croatia are 9 points ahead of Serbia with 3 games to go. Should Serbia win next month, which they are favourites to, and then Croatia fall at the hands of the leaders Belgium everything will depend on the away game in Scotland for 2nd place. To me that is not a very comfortable thought, if Serbia win the next 3 games and Croatia lose the next 3 games Serbia will have a better goal difference regardless of the results and will end 2nd.
Having said that Croatia can win the next 3 games and end top.
Either way it’s going to be unpredictable.
Who gives a shit about the Croatian HNL. It is a horrible league, and so many Croatians fuck each other up and physically fight each other over Dinamo and Hajduk games. Its not worth even talking about or mentioning. Yes they do produce a lot of quality players, other than that, its horrible soccer. Just like every other Eastern European League. I love Croatia and Croatians with whole my heart. But the HNL is a joke. My best friend who is half Croatian and half Serbian just came back from Croatia and Serbia and told me his cousin’s friend got stabbed four times during a Zvezda Partizan game. Kid was only a teenager, no affiliation to any team. Just there to watch a game. I know your going to say, “Yea but that was Serbia, they are animals” same shit goes on in the HNL as well.
I only care about the National Team any hoping they at least qualify for the Brazil. If they don’t , it will be a huge embarrassment.
Tool bag????? Not Ziva Istina. I’m not negative……..I’m objective, which rattles some of you. Hell, at this point last summer I was Modric’s biggest fan saying he would be an instant hit at Real and would excel. Unfortanetly, my perdiction on that one was off a bit. Still, I expect plenty of good things from Modric.
back to Spurs……..regarding for your first question……could it hurt the team? I doubt it. Most players care about the money and will ignore what a club has done in the past. We see players going to Russia, Ukraine, middle east and China for the almighty dollar. So, safe to say players will still sign for Spurs. Spurs have signed new players this offseason. Have to wait and see if there is an impact in future years. I can only go by what I have witnessed so far.
The price is only “stupidly” high if no club is willing to spend that amount of money to buy him. Real looks willing to spend it. What should Spurs do, lower the asking price and leave millions on the table. Come on. Would you lower the price on your home (or your comic book collection – whichever is greater) even though you could sell it for 25% over the original asking price.
Next time, don’t sign a multi-year deal and Spurs can’t do this to him. But, we all know single year contracts wont ever happen because players/agents/families want security with long-term contracts.
But don’t you think he’s hurting the team by playing constant hardball with everyone. What do you think Luke Shaw is going to do when he sees a fellow Southampton grad getting jerked around by Tottenham? Or Alvaro Vadillo which Tottenham is currently trying to buy. This will without question have an effect on their decision.
Here it is black and white, bale wants to play champions league and win titles, AVB needs him to even have a chance of finishing top four, levy is making the price stupidly high so no one can buy or at least sanely buy, how sane real is, that is a completely different story.
And stop talking like anyone remembers who you root for or what opinions you had five years ago when luka transferred. You’re perpetually a tool bag, so it never surprises anyone when you’re negative as shit with everything.
You can’t just rely on the kids, unless you have a few gems in there….
Rijeka took the same route, pre-Volpi a few years back. We would have a starting XI with almost everyone under 24-25. Granted you win some games, the kids get exposure, grow, etc. but you aren’t really gonna challenge for a title… I think Hajduk know they aren’t winning the league this year or anytime soon, but I’m not sure the entire uprava is onboard with just considering the season a wash…
Rijeka I feel finally got the right mix; we have some kids in our starting XI with plenty of vets in the mix. We actually loaned out a lot of our kids to Italy (Volpi’s other teams – Spezia and Siena) and have another group (including Simon Sluga) at Pomorac.
@Anonymous…….is 100 million pounds market rate???? Yes, if there is a team willing to spend that much for him. If others are pissed at Levy, then they should be 10 times as pissed at Real Madrid. Again, if you had an asset coveted by another individual or corporation, would you not hold out until you got the most you could for it? Let’s wait and see where we are at the end with this. I think Bale will be sold and he will be sold to Spurs for a price that was higher than the initial proposal.
And a club can force a player to stay and sit, if they wanted to. They have him under contract. Now, it wont come to that because when you do something like that you harm yourself as a club down the road with other players.
Again, when the rest of you were bling Spurs’ fans a few years ago, I wasn’t. i never rooted for that club even when the hrvati were playing for them. So, I have no personal interest or stake in that club. I’m just telling you what levy is doing is currently in the best interest of Spurs and that is all he should worry about. You should be lucky to have someone like that take care of your assets.
@nije…….true. I doubt he would be more than 200K euros to bring him over, probably less. My concern is that I have witnessed this before. Hajduk says they will go with the kids and then they bring in older guys from outside who cant do anything either.
So, 100 million pounds seems market to you. You don’t think he’s purposely making the price so incredibly high that bale is unable to be purchased?
There’s nothing personal about it. I’m making a point that the whole entire football world is seeing exactly what levy is doing and calling him out for what it is. Then I’m pointing out the obvious parallel between modrics situation and bales. I guess it comes down to do you rather side on the part of the player or club. I think in both situations, the club should be more reasonable and realize they can’t force a player to stay.
@Ziva – i think what Tudor is looking for is a goal scorer that wont cost Hajduk that much. He said last game that Hajduk created so many chances but were unable to capitalize due to their youth and inexperience. He also said if they had Blazevski on their team they would have converted 3 goals. Who knows, i think it would be a solid move for the right price.
Why does anything matter? The US has become a homosexual republic. I cant go one day without seeing this perverts on my TV. Now there is a sick gay batman comic. When do the gay beaches in Croatia opne?
I don’t like this rumored move for Blazevski. He is 27, so that doesn’t go with hajduk’s youth movement. I understand you can’t have a full roster of kids, so you need some type of veteran player. But, all this guy has done is have an impressive performance against a bunch of kids hajduk has playing on the backline.
@Ante Kvartuč
Right on!
More details on Blazevski coming to Poljud.

Sure……
Bale will end up at Real Madrid and Levy is going to get what he wants in terms of money. I don’t see what the issue is. If Spurs would have sold Bale 3 weeks ago they would have been without how much money already. The fee has gone up in the last 3 weeks. As for Coentra, Real is OK with that deal. However, Coentra is not.
To put it in terms you might understand……Lets say you own a house and plan to sell it. You know there is a big demand for the house. Do you sell it on the first bid or do you push it up knowing full well the other side really wants your house and is willing (history has shown this with Real) to spend even more to secure what they want.
I don’t know how anyone can say what Levy is doing is not busy savy.
Again, don’t let your personal opinion of Levy and Spurs (because of Modric situation) cloud your judgement about making the right decision for Spurs and what is good for Spurs.
Anyone going to mention the transfer saga going on with bale and Tottenham. Ziva, let me hear your reasoning that 100 million pounds and coentra is just good negotiating. Might be a little poor don’t you think, quarter of a billion sounds much rounder, hell Perez can give Levy his wife for the night and they’ll call it even.

Bravo Ante!
Speaking of Ante’s- Ante B, how was it in Cavoglave?
Ladies and gentlemen,
I’d like to officially congratulate Doktor Prle with CroatianSports.com’s 60,000th comment!
“Ha, I’ll never forget how the Boys, wittingly or not, used to write this particular graffiti:
“Da je sloboda i demokracija bio bi Dinamo a ne Kroacija. (If there was freedom and democracy it would be called Dinamo and not Croatia).”
Yeah, sure, the Boys will say they were challenging Tudjman’s “autocracy” and even – “dictatorship!” hahhahha only when it comes to the club’s name. But one can’t but notice the irony! LOL
When there was NO freedom and NO democracy, it was in fact Dinamo and NOT Croatia (not just the club, but the state of Croatia!) did not exist.
I will also remind everyone that there were many hands involved in the revolt that brought back Dinamo. And I will also tell you what that particular graffiti’s real meaning was:
“Da je slobode i demokracije, bilo bi Jugoslavije a ne Hrvatske.”
And, yes, Yugoslavs really believe their country was both free and democratic. Just ask them. They will tell you: “Oh, so popular elections didn’t exist – but the communists, within their leagues, did hold elections.” As far as freedom goes to them, their Yugoslavia was paradise.
Like I said, the “Balkans” are rife with a lot of very dumb fucking people. But, if they like it – let ‘em have it.
Only in Croatia can Tudjman be a dictator, and Tito a democrat. Only in Croatia. Dumb fucks.”
lol after reading posts here so much I couldn’t tell if they were joking
lol yeah thats a funny vid with tottenham

@IvicA:
You hit the nail on the head.
We all love Cro because it’s a beautiful country and because we are all Croats. It’s our home. I speak to a lot of people in Cro, and the only reason they want to get out of the country is for money. I don’t blame them. It’s also the main reason why we (the diaspora) are still here and not moving back by now, so in no way can we criticize them.
When unemployed, your life can feel pretty meaningless and not even the great weather, food, women, nightlife, etc. can get you out of that feeling of having to live with your parents at age 40 living off their gasterbeiter pension plus any wages you manage to squeeze out as a konoba. It leaves you feeling very bitter, but there’s really nothing you can do about it.
As much as all of us love Cro, the young people inside of Cro want to leave. I look at the people that I know in Cro who are under the age of 30. Those who have a nice life and good to great job are in that position because of family/political/mob connections. The people who I know are educated and fully capable to work legit jobs but don’t have the connections want to get the hell out of the country.
I sat next to Tin Jedvaj’s aunt on a flight to Croatia and she was saying as soon as he got a chance to leave the HNL and make a real paycheck in Italy, he jumped at it. I’m sure that is the norm in that league.
yep, it’s a no brainer. ANy move to a club outside of Cro is probably a move for an annual salary of 6 figures. In some cases it could take guys 5-6 years or even longer to make a total of 6 figures playing in Cro. The career of an athlete is short. You have to maximize earning potential.
@ Ziva
makes sense from that point of view as well…
if your some kid originally from a selo outside ZG, Split, Rijeka, etc. and it’s either try your luck with ‘Arrogant’ Mamic and see where his coat tails take you or try and get one big payday in Europe… would be an easy decision for most…
fricken ipad……in the first line i meant “how” (not who)
in sporting news from the good ole’ US and A
thank god they finally suspended ARod, I wish they would of banned his ass for life – I cannot stand him (I’m a Yankee fan) and really hoped Hal Steinbrenner could recoup that $100 million and invest it wisely (and not into another older, has-been) I’m not sure the legality of it all and bla bla but I flat out just never liked the guy…
@Armada….you would be surprised who many agents in Cro offer their player and pitch their players to foriegn clubs. Very common practice with many of the players in Cro.
Regarding your question about kids in their teens leaving and wanting to go to big time clubs……….paycheck, yes. Some of these guys don’t get paid on time with their club teams in Cro and if they do it is for very little. Some of these guys make less than $700 per month. One year on the books at another club is what they would make playing numerous years in Cro, if lucky. None of these kids dream about playing for Rijeka, Osijek, Cibalia, Istra, etc…..They want in the bigger leagues and they want to get their ASAP. They think they are the next big thing. I many ways I cant blame them. There is no gaurentee they will ever make it. Those who say they should stay in Cro and develop mean well. But, there is no gaurentee they will develop in Cro. And if they cant develop in Cro they will never get that chance to go to a bigger league/club. At least this way they are able to go to a bigger club/league and can at least get that one payday. Plus, these kids listen (too much in my opinion) to their agents and parents. The agents and parents in cro are just like the parents of the crnci here in the US when it comes to hoops and football……they want to get paid. Same thing you are saying can be said to a number of these kids who leave college programs a year or two earlier than they should here in the US. If they fail in Europe, they know they can come back to Cro and play for the same money.
Blazevski coming to Poljud?
http://slobodnadalmacija.hr/Hajduk/tabid/83/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/217797/Default.aspx
Niko was “offered” to Milan… whatever the fuck that means and they value him at 2.5 million euros. What agent offers their players to a big time club like that?
Anyway, while Niko is one of the more talented CB’s in the HNL and has played for the youth NT’s, in no way should he go to Milan. This guy is no Tin Jedvaj but he’ll turn out to be a serviceable CB for a decent club down the road.
I get that Dinamo isn’t the ideal club for a lot of reasons, but he should transfer over to them, let Mamic do his Maminho magic, get some playing time in Europe and then move to a decent club where he’ll get playing time.
Either that or go to a lower-mid tier Serie A, Bundesliga, English side… I don’t get these kids and wanting to go to some big time club at 18-19-20.. Is it strictly to try and get a big paycheck?
We realistically have one to two players per generation who can jump from the HNL to some big 4 league and produce. Modric, Hallilovic, Kovacic, Corluka, Kranjcar, Srna, etc. Don’t these kids realize that? Don’t they realize making a stupid move like that could torpedo their career early?
Back from a great vacation on the island of Osljak, off the coast of Zadar. Placed 1000 Kuna on Zadar to beat Osijek, which they did 3-1. Tough schedule to start their season (losses to Hajduk, Dinamo and Rijeka)
Just another Beautiful Win by the Most Loved team in Croatia , & throughout the World Our Bili Hajduk ! @ Dr. Colin i don’t know how U can report on that crap Arrogant Mamic/dinamo team after they treated U like a criminal just for yelling in the stands ? That’s not Freedom that’s like the Old Days ! Dude i guess U forgive real Fast ! I’ll be Rooting over here in Beautiful Split for Moj Hajduk where i won’t get thrown in jail for cheering in the stands ! Hajduk , i Torcida 4 Life ! Bog , Hrvati , USA , Champion L.A. Galaxy , Hajduk , i HNS !!!
Speaking of Rijeka…
What’s the word on that Niko Datkovic to AC Milan rumour?
Apparently his agent contacted AC Milan and is trying to instigate a transfer from Rijeka to the Rossoneri.
I like the idea of our defenders going to Serie A, but preferably when the actual team itself is interested in our players and come knocking.
@Martin Hrvat – Ehh, Just call me a hypocrite I guess. I posted a comment in my last post mentioning that I included Dinamo in the report this week. If you noticed, It’s pretty short. We’ll just see how it goes. Turns out, I just can’t stay mad at em.
and even then its no lock.
Research must be done to see if your parents have ever failed you.
@ Anonymous
You actually have to submit an application on the CroatianSports homepage. You must also include your full name, area your family hails from in the domovina, any known ustasa/jugo allegiances, nogomet allegiances and of course, the name you wish to use.
It will go before the CSR panel, if everything checks out, you can have your own screen name.
Sorry, I was referring to the old jerseys that Armada just mentioned. I didn’t think the logos looked as similar as the picture suggests. How do I create a screen name?
Rijeka’s jersey use to look exactly like the current Slaven B. kit…. so the dude has a point… and correct, the new kits look nothing like Slaven’s now
Rijeka’s kit maker use to be Jako as well and those were some ugly jerseys….
Ziva is right, scroll up 1 pic and you can see the huge blue cross on the Rijeka jersey
and create a screen name and login!
Colin…I am confused…only two days ago, you said the following:
“And that brings me to my final decision: I love Dinamo, but Dinamo does not love us back. I was treated like a criminal and detained for hours because of words we said. There is not much left to do but join the boycott of the club that I love, and that is what I am going to do. I will no longer report on Dinamo’s performance in the HNL, nor will I report on their performance in UEFA.
I welcome anyone and everyone to take my place and report on their matches. I will continue the HNL reports, but without Dinamo Zagreb’s matches, starting immediately and ending indefinitely.”
Yet today you report on Dinamo??? Change of heart??? or did Mamic pay you off to??? 🙂
it is just you.
is it just me or is the guy on the right in the osijek-slaven pic wearing a rijeka kit?
damn, wedding boy with two goals.
