After going a perfect 5-0 in the group stage of the 2015 World Handball Championships in Qatar, the Croatian Cowboys were given the ultimate scare this past Sunday against Brazil in the round of 16. In a match they were supposed to comfortably dominate, Croatia went down early, trailing 4th place Group A team Brazil 15-13 at halftime. However, Croatia dug deep in the second half behind five Marko Kopljar goals to defeat the Brazilians 26-25 to set up a date with Poland in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Croatia are the favorites to defeat Poland and reach the semifinals, where they would meet Group D winners Germany or tournament hosts Qatar. By winning their group, Croatia avoided perennial handball powers Spain, France and Denmark, whom they can now only play in the Final; as they are on the other side of the draw.
In their past three tournaments, Croatia have finished fourth once and grabbed the bronze medal twice. They are favorites to reach the Final this year, but can Croatia finally get over the semifinal hump and take gold again for the first time since the 2004 summer Olympics in Athens, Greece?
Poland always wins. That’s it.
Dobili smo po picki
“Poland has played us very tight in the past.”. ha,ha.
open your eyes, look on replay match Poland-Croatia -on Vori… and.. are you humans? no.
animals… no words… animals. Croatia.
We might have lost, but I won. I took Poland on my parlay today. I got them at +1.5…… easy money. My post earlier mentioned I didn’t feel we were as good as we appeared on paper. And that was true.
Now comes the best part……. the media is going to have fun attacking the team and Goluza.
whenever I watch handball, we lose

Interesting thoughts from those above, which brings me to the following question:
Which is worse?
A. Riejka’s Mato Jajalo going AWOL and signing with Palermo.
B. Hajduk’s Vlasic refusing to carry the baggage of veteran players.
C. Dino Drpic banging out Nives on Maksimir’s pitch.
D. Severina’s latest live album.
Severina needs to be burned…then saved near death…then beaten…then starved….then crucified
my answers are 1) D 2) LOL all of the above and 3) Maja suput
QFs at the World Championships in handball is not really that great of an accomplishment for this team. Upsets do happen, but QFs are the expected result at minimum with Cro handball.
Any other sport, correct. QFs in soccer or basketball would be huge.
Gobac = Mamic is a good example. They have their own set of rules and everyone else be damned.
Which brings us to question time……
Who of the following is most qualified for his/her job:
A. Kum Kovac as national team coach
B. Puppet Suker as head of the savez
C. Pletikosa’s wife as motivational speaker.
D. Ivanisevic as a financial advisor
Which of the following does not belong
A. Outgoing President Josipovic at Catholic mass
B. Incoming President Hrvatski Palin as a keynote speaker at a finance conference
C. STD Corluka teaching sex education at a free clinic
D. Diaspora hrvati teaching grammar lessons to a first-grade class in Cro.
One more……..Fuck/Marry/Kill time (all of them deserved to be killed, so this one will be hard)
A. Severina
B. Vlatka Pokos
C. Nives Celzijus

HNS PEDERI HRS PEDERI SPORT STE NAM SJEBALI!
Cro has been pretty poor from what I’ve seen.
Let’s hope they get it together and show up tomorrow because Poland won’t be easy. They are our first decent team that we have faced this tournament.
There’s no chance we beat France if we make the Finals though. They looked amazing against Sweden. Germany has, surprisingly, been good this tournament, and they would be next for us. We have the easiest path to the Finals though. But with the way we’re playing, we’re likely to fuck it up.
Honestly, who cares who we play big team or not if you want to win something and be the best at it you’ll have to beat any opponent.
Well glad we are playing the Polish instead of the Swedes, if and when we pull off a nail biter i see us beating the Germans as well, then it gets extremely scary. I wouldn’t say favorites but definitely medal worthy.
I’d say it is a stretch to say we are a favorite to reach the finals. Maybe on name recognition on our side of the bracket, but when you look at how we have played so far we are not a favorite for the finals. Brazil gave us a match and if not for some friendly calls from the refs, we coukd have lost that match.
Poland has played us very tight in the past.
By the way, all the matches are on Direct TV in the US.
