CroatianSports.com would like to congratulate sponsors Importanne Resort for the opening of their new hotel, coming April 2017 to Dubrovnik: Royal Blue.
Dubrovnik has been a home-away-from-home for me personally when I head to Croatia as the majority of my family is in Zadar. But since 2010, I have always made the trip down south in the summer where I can host friends to a few days of vacation outside the normal Croatian routine.
If you plan on being in Dubrovnik this summer or are interested in being accommodated, please send an email to Ante@CroatianSports.com so I can put you in touch with the right people. But if our paths cross, first round is on me.
But for you regulars that go to Croatia every year, what do you like doing in the country when you’re not with family?
@ Faux and Idemo. Yes I had two 40 foot shipping containers that went out of San Pedro. It’s pretty simple.
1st – Go to the Croatian consulate and get your paperwork filled out so you don’t have to pay taxes.
2nd – Get a shipper, I actually found a Croatian guy that does this who lives in San Pedro, he sets everything up.
3rd – If your shipping vehicles you will have to pay uvoz. That’s calculated by the vehicles value and how much CO2 it puts out. On the 2006 diesel it was around 24K kuna or just over 3K dollars. Now the 1996 Porsche was around 115K kuna because of it’s value and it put out 258 grams of CO2. But I can sell that car in Europe for twice what I could get in the US.
Other questions feel free to ask. BTW – I wake up the entire country side when I drive my little monster. In the video it also shows the two trailers I brought with me because I put all my shit in the trailer and literally drove it to Zagorje. Also the BMW I bought because renting a car can be pricey.

BTW – Here’s a great site to look at vehicles. If I had to do it again I might have just bought a Toyota Helix in Germany. You can pick them up in 4×4 for relatively cheap. Or a BMW series 3 station wagon in diesel, the 335 M model goes 0 – 60 in 4.7 seconds and is all wheel drive.

Also, if you plan on shipping a car, remove the plates and bring them with you. You can then drive around on American plates legally for about 6 months, get insurance etc, but I know a women that drove a car for over 10 years before she had to register it. Now registering cars and dealing with Croatian customs is a fucking pain in the ass.
Mishko,
First week of July.

Im aiming to move back this summer as well could use some info if you shipped
@Mishko:

Great to see sponsors involved with the site! Congrats!
Ante, I live in Zagorje now, let me know when you’re going to be there, I could drive down and hang for a day or two.
