On Saturday night the ageless Australian born Croatian Anthony Perosh will look to prove once again that he can hang with the young lions of the UFC. The Croatian light heavyweight will face the top ten ranked division one wrestling standout and ultimate fighter alumni Ryan Bader. Bader should prove to be the biggest challenge of Anthony Perosh’s career next to maybe his fight with Mirko CroCop back in 2010. The American fighter Bader enters the octagon Saturday night with a respectable record of 15 wins with only 4 losses which came at the hands of Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones, Former Champions Lyoto Machida and Tito Ortiz and number one challenger Glover Texeira. Bader has fought some of the biggest stars the UFC light heavyweight division has to offer.
Perosh on the other hand is coming off a huge knockout win over Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace Vinny Magalhaes which brought his record to 14 wins with 7 losses. The Croatian light heavyweight has rejuvenated his career since going down to the light heavyweight division and is now 4-1 since dropping down a weight class. At 41 years old Perosh is no spring chicken but he seems to be getting better with age like a fine wine. This fight will be an uphill battle for Anthony as Bader has very strong wrestling and decent stand up. The key for Perosh in this match is to use his improved striking and stay away from the power of Bader’s fists. If the fight goes to the ground he will have to try and stay away from being pounded out and look for the submission. The Croatian is a much more talented and experienced Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner and that will have to be utilized if Perosh expects to win this one. Another advantage for Perosh is the event is being held in his home country of Australia and the fans should be in his corner. Also he will not have to battle any jet lag or get used to the time change that Bader will have to combat.
Ryan Bader’s take on the fight

He did but you have to respect his heart. True warrior spirit most guys would of just gave up. You also gotta give him credit that he asks for the tough fights always especially at 41 yrs old.
wow perosh got crushed
@Ziva
It is popular, the population here is around 22 million so there is only so much to go around but the people here love their sport. Mma isn’t huge but it’s big enough.
Is organized afterschool fight club in Australia popular????
Anthony had no right to win any of his fights given his age but he just took the wins, the blokes a legend in the way he has won fights in the best mma organization this late in his fighting life.
Wow I was not aware that Anthony Perosh was a catholised serb. I dont know who to root for, I fucking hate Bader he’s a tattooed ape but he made me money on many occasions. I’ll just hope for the double knockout.
If some how he can pull of this win it would be HUGE, i see him as a big underdog but you never know, If Persoh was to get this upset it would be great for Croatian UFC again 🙂
