Australian born Croatian Light Heavyweight fighter Anthony “The Hippo” Perosh returns to the Octagon tonight in his home country of Australia. Perosh’s opponent is Canadian fighter Nick Penner who has a record of 11 wins and only 1 loss. The Croat has 2 straight wins since moving down in weight from heavyweight to light heavy to bring his record to 12 wins and 6 losses.
This will be the second UFC fight for Perosh in his home country as he was defeated by Mirko CroCop Filipovic at UFC 110 which also took place in Sydney, Australia. In his last two UFC bouts he defeated Tom Blackledge and the always tough Cyrille Diabate respectively. The Aussie Croatian will look to take the fight to the ground and use his slick Brazilian Jiu Jitsu skills to get the submission victory.
Penner’s record is a mix of TKO and submission victories in smaller shows outside of the UFC. Nick seems to be the more well rounded fighter but will be surely outclassed by Perosh on the ground tonight. Nick will want to keep the fight standing and look for the KO victory.
The experience in this match has to go to Perosh as he has fought the tougher opponents on the bigger stage in the UFC.The Crippler predicts Perosh second round submission over Nick Penner. The fight can be see live tonight on Fuel TV and FX in the United States and Sportsnet in Canada, Event starts at 6pm Eastern and Main Card at 9pm.
