Late Sunday night, Inter agreed to sell Mateo Kovacic to Real Madrid for €35m. Liverpool had been waiting in the wings to snatch up the youngster, but they were not prepared to pay such a large fee. Robert Mancini confirmed week long suspicions when he came out Sunday and said:
“We are all disappointed about Kovacic’s departure. What can we do? There are rules we must respect, the Financial Fair Play is there and we must respect UEFA’s rules,” said the manager.
Even though Mancini doesn’t mention the large sum of money they are getting for Kovacic, he does have a fair point about the rule. Inter lose a young hot prospect, but they still have Croatian Marcelo Brozovic, who has been doing quite well in the midfield. Along with Brozovic, there is speculation that Inter will sign Ivan Perisic with a portion of money they received in Kovacic trade.
Kovacic, who is represented by Mario Mamic, signs his contract Monday and has his physical Wednesday. The only bad thing about the trade is that Kovacic will most likely ride the bench for the rest of the season at Real Madrid. The positives is that Kovacic leaves an Italian league that is still trying to get back to it’s former glory, and gets to learn from Kroos and Modric
What do you think about the trade?
Izabel Andrijanic is Kovacic’s girlfriend Ronaldo will have a go at her.

Kovacic has often played as a No. 10 for both Inter and Croatia, he had been linked with a move to Liverpool earlier in the summer.
In January 2013 he was signed by Internazionale from Dinamo Zagreb –where he started his professional career at 16 –it took him more than 20 months to score his first Serie A goal. He scored a total of five goals in 80 league appearances.
Izabel-Andrijanic-1
Izabel and Mateo have an item for a while now, she attended the FC Internazionale Christmas Party at San Siro Lounge on December 17, 2014 in Milano, Italy and was pictured next to her guy.
According to a LinkedIn profile she studied at University of Economics in Zagreb. Her boyfriend’s current status as a Real Madrid player also makes her the new WAG of Real Madrid.
She has over 400 followers on Instagram, but is just a matter of time for the beauty to increase that number. Judging by her social media photos, Mateo is a lucky guy, Izabel has a lovely face and nice body to go along. The young lovebirds enjoy hanging out with friends and Izabel is even close to his sisters which makes her almost family. She keeps active on Instagram but her account is set on private.
Andrijanic has even been credited for her man’s play improvement, do you think she makes him happy?

Mateo Kova Kovacic is overrated he is not up to Real Madrid standard. I hope he proves me wrong. England and Germany would have been better for him or even to stay at Inter Milan and get playing time full game minutes not sitting on the bench and get minutes in Spanish Cup games.
Should have posted it here…
Have you guys seen the middle man in this entire deal? Mario Mamic, Zdravko Mamic’s son.
when kova starts cuttin em up in training, rafa will have no choice but to play him, guaranteed. thru ball maestro
Im sorry but Kovacic going to Real for me is a disaster. , Luka Modric who in my opinion is one of the top 5 midfielders in the world had trouble getting into the starting 11 and because he didn’t produce instantly was voted Real’s worse signing by the fans for his first season.
Even now as a starter and a integral cog of the wheel that is Madrid he doesn’t get enough service. Ive watched so many matches where his magic has created so many goals yet at the same time the Spanish players don’t ever return his efforts. I have seen countless runs by Luka for the give and go to only have the ball switched to the other side.
So if you believe the hype that La Liga will create better players its true only if your Spanish. Another example Halilovic for Barcelona’s B team. He having trouble getting along with the team. It could be his ego or the fact they don’t give him any service. Alan is a threat to any Spanish kids dream for playing for Barca thus no service.
I’m sorry but the best fit for any Croat player is Germany followed by England and even France. La Liga and Italy is where players sit on the bench. To be honest I think they just sign are top talent and bench them to insure that are National side is not a threat.
Next time I write your last name and you stand behind your stupid cmments-asshole!
To podiže publiku. Ljudi su izgubili život za ovaj dres. Kad pokažemo želju, onda će i publika skakati za nas.” This is a quote from Hezonja.
Ziva has gotta troll as usual by using his stupid nicknames. Tony/Ziva, you re a fucking douche!
@Seronja-Hmmm,Why not both? Maybe,both hats fit. 🙂
Hedging???????? No, i said he was playing like a bust and the bust label was being thrown around by Spanish media and Real fans. So, I asked, is he a bust because he is playing like one. Big difference. You’ll recall that in the summer of 2012 i said he would excel in Spain and this was way before the transfer even took place.
As for Vekic…….I have no allegiances to her. I see someone acting like a kurva, I’ll call it a kurva. So, because someone is a croat, they get a free pass for being an idiot???? By the way, don’t be surprised if in the next few years Vekic is no longer playing under the Cro flag.
Trust me, no hrvat hate. How could I? I call it as I see it without the homer glasses.
He was on the side of Lukaku and did not want to get red carded.
That is a classic Ziva Holiga view.
He played bad against Brazil (rigged match for sure).
His slalom run against Iceland when we were down a man, lays off a assist for Srna got us IN THE WORLD CUP!
You and I both know that Kovacic is the goods and you and I both know you are hedging your bets since the Luka “bust” Modric comment.
No need to defend your “bust” comment as I am Pravi Hrvat that remembers every attack on the Croatian people. You called Luka a bust when he was in the middle of a toxic mourinho Madrid locker room. You said he is a bust and if he was world class he would of walked right into the team and dominate.
No respect to the BS that Luka was dealing with.
Then you sell out a 19 year old Vekic and dishonor her name.
I wonder who you really work for?
You live a za đubre spreman lifestyle ?
Now if you really are a Pravi Hrvat maybe we can rehabilitate you. But given the depth of your Hrvat hate it will be a challenge.
Bog i Hrvati
Why not both?
Ha ha ha,Ziva Holiga-I am thinking Aleksander Istina. 🙂
Would have preferred Liverpool. I think he would good more play time and experience in a quality league.
ummmm, where did I ever say he wouldn’t succeed? Do you have a reading issue?
I said this makes no sense for Real in the short term because they could use a GK (who might be coming in a few weeks or at worst next season de Gea) and another defender.
I have never said he is not talented; he is. The problem with him were the idiots at Inter who wanted him to be the center piece as a 19 and 20 year old. That was insane.
Anyone with decent skill will look good in that line up at Real.
He is a good player, but lets also be fair here……..how did he perform at the World Cup. He got benched for a reason or does that get ignored?????? Remember him trying to chase Lukakau. Some beast.
@ Hammer
Let them know Brate.
Some of the veliki Hrvati fear the Croatian beast within.
There is a reason we produce world class talent and it’s not our broke ass sports infrastructure.
It is that we are talented people.
Unfortunately some folks here can order drinks in Croatian but don’t know shit about the power of Narod Svoj!
@ Svima
Time of bs analysis is over.
Who is with Kovacic thriving at Real Madrid and becoming a world class player?
Who is not ?
Because in 6 months when he is bringing the magic slalom run at the Bernabaeu I do not want to hear about Ziva Holiga revisionist history.
U boj … U boj … U boj …
Za narod svoj.
Bog i Hrvati
Đubre i veliki kreteni
ZDS
Kovacic wasn’t bad at Inter. He could play at the same level he did a Inter and he’ll look better at Madrid, because like Soul Champ said world class talent around him. I believe Kovacic will be better than Modric.
@Sude Mi…………I can. One is a fan of Partizan, so that right away rules him out as being someone who lives the “za dom…..spremni” lifestyle that I know many of you try to live.
@ Ziva Istina
Good news with the basketball team.
We lost the American crnac from the team as he suffered minor knee injury last night. So, no wanna be hrvat on the roster for Eurobasket. While this hurts the team, this is a good thing. Now we only have a roster of hrvati. What a concept!!!! Hrvati playing for Hrvatska.
But can you confirm they are all ZDS Hrvati?!?
Doesn’t necessarily tell us much of anything about his ability, but still very surprising and interesting
https://twitter.com/MC_of_A/status/633308561544769536
@Horvat……………he basically doubles his salary moving to Real. I’m guessing the contract will be a three or four-year deal. Assuming he doesn’t agree to a buyout if he shits the bed, he will collect approx 16 million euros over 4 years and that doesn’t include bonuses.
Money is a big factor. It might not be the greatest factor, but salary is up there. Since most of us on this site reside in N. AMerica, I will share this……….I had the same conversation with one of these USA Outlaws supporters regarding Michale Bradley and Clint Dempsey coming back to MLS. The “Outlaw” argued they should have stayed in Europe and played against better competition making themselves better players and helping the national team even more. I argued that its all about the cash. Bradley went from making slightly over 1 million euros at Roma to getting paid $6.5 million with Toronto. Who refuses to make a move when you increase your salary by a multiple of 6. Same with Dempsey; he went from around 2 million to around 6 million.
It is tough to refuse that type of money. Kovacic increases his salary and goes to maybe the biggest club in the world. Tough to say no to that. And before anyone goes on the deep end here, I am not comparing either of the two USA players to Kovacic. Kovacic is more talented than each of them, although the two US players have done more for their national team.
Lets see how this plays out. He might have been brought in as the replacement for Modric for all we know. Maybe they view Modric as someone who has two years left at a high level and they get a 21 year old who could be the perfect replacement in two years. No clue.
What we do know as that most of the soccer analysts, pundits who are neutral and have no rooting interest here are puzzled why Real would make this move. Again, time will tell.
@ Horvat
Easy for a fan to say that. Would you turn down a move for 35 million euro? Whether or not you’re a fit for the team or the league/team is above your talent level, sorta hard to say “Well, I’m going to do the right thing and turn down a boatload of Euros and stay at Inter where I’ve stagnated the last 2 years”
Bad move for Kovacic.
Don’t know what these kids are thinking sometimes.
Mateo “I don’t want to end up in Kiev eating quarter pounders” Kovacic? too long? too soon?
mixed feelings about ‘Beast’ Kovacic move…
he wasn’t necessarily lighting Serie A on fire and is now moving to a top 3 team in all of Europe. Kid has his worked cut out for him. Mateo has a good head on his shoulders and hopefully this pushes him to bigger and better things, but the ball is in his court now and we’ll see if he’s truly a ‘beast’, the next Prosinecki/Boban or the next Niko Kranjcar.
I know this topic is dedicated to the Kovacic transfer, but sticking with hoops for a bit, does anyone have a problem with Grobar Hezonja wearing the national team jersey while a Partizan fan. Seems strange, no????????

The headline: Kovacic traded??????????
Come on guys, now you sound like an American sports fan who just started following European soccer. Traded??????
But, I thought Kovacic was going to thrive at Inter?
Dude is young where coming off the bench at Real is not the worst thing in the world. However, if you are Kum Kovac, you rather have your 21-year old playing consistently.
Kovacic will play probably start in the smaller matches in La Liga on weekends leading into midweek Champions League matches, but he will sit in the big games unless there are injuries or comes out hot as soon as he gets there.
Lets hope his plays improves for the repka, because it was pedestrian at the World Cup (not BEAST worthy) with him getting benched as a starter after game one.
Again, he is young and at 21 we wont what he is as a player for another 2 or 3 years.
@ Svima
Kovačić will play this year for Real Madrid.
Reina implements a rotation system and Real are competing on many fronts.
Kroos is a bit stiff and has been good but not great.
Our beloved Modric cannot be burnt out again this year. He will play in all the big matches but will be rested in the lesser ones.
Kovacic will thrive with world class speed and talent around him.
Real Madrid has the best senior level training facillity on the planet.
Modric will support him as it is in his nature to support all of his teammates.
La liga is for all the technically talented athletes.
Bottom line is he will get better this year and it will benefit his play for the Repka.
A blessing to see our top young players apart of top clubs in top leagues.
A new level of the Vatreni is upon us.
Perišić = BEAST!
I don’t know how its even being considered that Wolfsburg would part ways with Perisic since he had a goal + assist in there first game.
The rumors swarming around De Bruyne for 75 million from Manchester City is angering the coaching staff as it is because its disrupting the team etc etc.
On that note the first game for VFL Wolfsburg De Bruyne was absolutely invisible. His play was so bad that the coach had switched Ivan 4 times from his preferred position hoping the to free up De Bruyne. From what I saw Ivan was able to adjust and be constant threat while Kevin was shadowed and taken out of the equation.
This being all said If Wolfsburg did decide to lose De Bruyne who might have had a bad game then the thought of selling Perisic makes no sense at all. So either this is bad reporting by Cro sports or someone needs there head checked because the potential loss of De Bruyne and Perisic would shatter VFL hopes for first or 3rd place finish.
I also hope this is untrue Ivan’s game has excelled 1000% in Germany. Now he’s a first team player,if he was to go to Italy he might become offensively handicapped and start from the bench like most of the Croatians who are in Serie A right now.
I hope Perisic dosen’t go to Inter. On Kovacic, from Dinamo to Inter and now to Real Madrid, and only 21years old. I don’t imagine he’ll start much but coming on for 15-20 mins for Real Madrid is better than playing at Inter.
Terrible move, I would hate to ride the bench especially when your that talented
