Hidden in the shadow of Croatia’s successful summer in Russia, the Europa and Champions League qualifiers have begun and have showed no club, player, or supporter is jaded from the emotionally-draining month experienced by us all.
On the contrary; players seemed eager to kick off the summer domestic play and have begun training for the start of the 2018/19 Prva Liga season, which kicks off on July 27, featuring Dinamo Zagreb and NK Rudeš.
But before we begin domestic play, one club has already started its European season on the right foot.
NK Osijek have advanced from the first qualifying round of the Europa League and are preparing for a visit from Glasgow’s Rangers next week. Osijek defeated Molodova’s Peroclub FC 3-2 on aggregate, sending them to the second round of qualifying.
The second leg of the match took place in the Garden City yesterday, ending with a 2-1 win for the home team.
Osijek dominated the match, despite the scoreline. High pressure against a weaker side paid off in the 15th minute when Robert Mudražija scored from a strike nearly 25 yards out. Mudražija was given more space than should have been allowed and took advantage of the poor defending to put Osijek in the lead.
A penalty was awarded to Petroclub only eight minutes later, thanks to an unnecessary and clumsy tackle tackle by Daniel Lončar.
Borna Barišić was the hero with the game winning goal in the 61st minute. The goal was much deserved and put Osijek in the driver’s seat for the remaining 29 minutes.
Osijek will face a tough task next week by way of the Scots. Star midfielder, Garbijel Boban exited the match in the first half with an injury and is uncertain for the next match. Osijek is already without star striker Eros Grezda and hope for a return in the near future.
Hajduk Split will now enter the second qualifying round against Slavia Sofia. HNK Rijeka will enter in the third round of qualifiers while Dinamo Zagreb awaits the start of the third round qualifiers of the Champions League.
I didn’t include stojanovic in my list
Stojanovic is Serb Goku most players in the starting line up were non Croats.
Just bring back The God footer Simunovi!c
We should have the present of God on this team!
Only a nation of fuck ups could lose a tiny island so close to home but thousands of miles from the invading nation.
A diverse group of francais cigans were beat by a dirtier Italian team with more diversified cheat rat fink techniques. Plus Ital mob >> cigan french gangsters.
Oh and Ademi as well..
Zagorac, Leovac, Orsic, Budimir. Situm and Fiolic subbed in.
Last time i checked i believe those individuals were Croatian. Majer will get in the lineup soon enough and so will Gavranovic when he is healthy. Benkovic was injured. The team will get more Croatian don’t worry “foreign zagreb” because you do sound foreign
I dont think there was even one Croatian player in Dinamo Zagreb’s win against Beer Sheva whats happened to all the Croatian talent from the academy.
This site is horrible tbh

Holy shit this moderation
Olmo is Catalan, and probably doesn’t give two shits about Spain.
Olmo is Catalan.
He probably doesn’t give a shit about Spain.
Capping non-Croats (dna) leads to Croats getting caps busted in their asses as we open the door to Euro-trash, Afro-trash, & Izzy-trash.
Best part of our 2018 run is our team looked like how a european from 1950 would look like. Something hereditarily & culturally satisfying about that. Meanwhile other teams looked like a club team, with not as much pride.
Olmo would do nothing for us. 5’9″ winger? We got a ton of those that have twice the potential.
He has a better chance at making the Spanish team than our winger rich team.
Would be embarassing to even consider him. Here are 10 better options without even going into our other hidden gems:
Perisic
Rebic
Pjaca
Brekalo
Halilovic
Vlasic
Mandzukic at wing
Kramaric at wing
Kovacic at wing (the Soul Champ deployment)
Brozo at wing (the Cacic deployment)
Guess, posts are being moderated now?
Anyhow, sorry if it’s been repeated as I tried to post earlier but I got no issues with Olmo playing for Croatia if it indeed does happen.
Agree with @The Truth, go ahead and naturalise a few every now and then if they show well at club level and have a genuine interest in playing for/representing Croatia. Just don’t go overboard handing out citizenship like candy.
Got no issues with it. If he genuinely wants to play for Croatia and appreciates the opportunity provided, go ahead.
Let’s see what happens.
So he’d be like that spain guy on our water polo team?
Hmmm idk.. maybe is okay for 1 or 2 players but i wouldnt want to chuck a france or switzerland
i’d prefer just Hrvati if im honest but i wouldnt be too bothered either
Hey amigos
https://www.croatiaweek.com/spanish-teenage-talent-wants-to-play-for-croatia/
So far olmo has repeatedly said that his dream is to play for Spain
Granted, he has to say that
But he has applied for Croatian citizenship
And if the hns were to offer him a senior cap when Spain does not…. You never know… Crazier things have happened
How do i feel about it? Apathetic…i say cap some non Croats every now and then who do a good job playing for Croatia but don’t go over the top. Things are always best in a happy medium
He applied for Croatian citizenship. Nothing wrong with that.
He is Spanish kid who plays for Dinamo.
Made the choice for his development as Dinamo turn out world class footballers on the regular.
I like giving opportunity to Croatian kids first.
What’s the deal with Olmo? Is he Croatian in any way? Wiki just says he’s Spanish, born in Spain and played for Spanish junior team. Am i missing something?
Correct Mr. Black. Olmo should play for us. He wants to!
Dinamo Zagreb just beat Beer Sheva from Israel with 5-0. Nice win but they didn’t play excellent.
Ademi did very well in the midfield but the biggest talent is Dani Olmo. HNS should try everything to make him play for Hrvatska.
I’m sorry for playing injured. I was selfish… i get that from my Serbian side
Yeah they were garbage tbh. Saw Sokota got a couple goals.. lolled at Ante Seric, my fellow Aussie!
According to Maminjo he should not be eligible to play anyway since Hrvatska should only have ppl born in the country 😉
Most of the players in our Under 21 1999 team turned out to be no good Seric,Mikic,Vranjes.
Unreal U21s
In 1999 in Belgrade Yugoslavia hosted Croatia, the game finished 2-6 !

Olic is probably still in better shape then some of the 23 that were selected for Russia.
Don’t really think ‘subbing’ him into training hurt the squad if that was the case.
@Razbijač
Yea, but Dalic gets a little bit of blame for picking him in the first place as Kalinic was screwing around with him for a couple of games before the final 23-man squad needed to be announced. Dalic should have addressed it sooner, before the rosters were finalized.
Also, he should not have picked Marko Pjaca if he was not fit enough to play minutes for us. Dude was asking to be subbed out of that Iceland match and looked terrible on the pitch for us whenever he played.
We could have really used players like Vlasic and Brekalo (who had an excellent season in the Bundesliga) off the bench. Hopefully they get called up this time around.
@ Maminjo
N. Kalinic really let his team down. Not only were we lacking in depth in forward position. But Dalic couldn’t arrange 11 v 11 scrimmages during training. He had to have a retired Olic take N. Kalinic’s place.
Even if you decide that any touch of the ball in the box is an automatic penalty, you still need to consider the fact that a terrible call led to a goal on the previous French free kick.
There will good and bad calls all game… But if they are BALANCED, then noone will fault you for it.
France had only two chances all half, and they were both manufactured by the referee.
Two game changing calls going against Croatia and none going against France.
After that first terrible call on the Griezmann dive, nobody would have faulted him for NOT calling the penalty on Perišić.
People’s negative reaction are moreso from the fact that France couldn’t even hold possession beyond two passes, and somehow were rewarded with two golden chances, leading to goals. It ended the game right there and the referee robbed the world of a potential CLASSIC FINALS match which probably which was shaping up to be an awesome game.
She looks cheap and he looks like an old man. Var was and is a good idea. Morons who cannot reason, I.e. football referees, should have been trained to use it. Any touch of the ball in the box is not a deliberate handball. But years of malpractice have blurred the rules. There is no way Perisic had time to react to that deflected ball. But that is beyond the cognitive abilities of a narcissist wannabe actor.
She gave me a stiffy. No homosex here.

Tell her what poor judgment her spineless husband has.
What are everyone’s thoughts on the UEFA Nation’s League? I see it a few ways.
1. Great replacement for meaningless international friendlies, making for more meaningful football being played. More potential rivalries developing between the teams in each league (We play England and Spain this Fall)
2. Club team’s worst nightmare. The matches are replacing the former schedules of international friendlies, which are played in the midst of the major club league seasons. Will the clubs allow their best players to potentially go play significant minutes for their country that could result in injuries?
3. The “minnows” ranked in the lower leagues are always going to be playing against other minnows, unless they experience an Iceland-esque uprising. Likewise, the “A League” teams will be playing other powerhouses, but bottom 4 of 12 will be relegated to the B League.
4. This is going to shake up Euro 2020 qualification. This video explains the process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHz4h7hiPgo
5. I hope we see France at some point in the process. Still sour in the mouth and will be for the rest of my life after that game, but revenge will taste so sweet.
Dalic should leave. Take the money and run. After all soccer is just a game that pays like big business. Secure financial safety for you and your family, Zlatko!
The only real beneficial thing Dalic did, was put Modric as attacking mid, but many of us thought that was a no-brainer well before Dalic arrived (myself, Soul Champ and a few others.)
Everything else was him not royally screwing anything up.
Even Cacic had our “Ferrari” players looking like the best team at Euros 2016 before Strinic gave the ball away at the end of extra time, and Cacic wasn’t smart.
0-Brozo as cdm was a gift from Inter Milan’s coach, not something Dalic created.
+1 for dumping Nikola Kalinic
-1 for not getting more youth involved.
-1 for experimenting unsuccessfully at getting Kramaric on field without changing formations (forced Luka and Rakitic back.)
+1 for being really
Dalić isn’t perfect.
He kept Subašić as our no.1 keeper, and he pulled Perišić in the 60th minute of both the Denmark and Russia games. The Kramarić midfield experiment didn’t really work well either (and it ate into our forward depth, which hurt us when we needed to sub in a forward for an obviously gassed Mandžo)…but Nikola Kalinić was the main person at fault for that depth issue.
Either way, he is an excellent coach nonetheless, and the HNS need to do whatever it takes to retain him.
Dalic is actually a wise man and look quite determinate. He sent Kalinic home and changed Perisic in Rusia game, He said every player wants on the pitch, so He keeps them for 90 minutes! Such a charismatic guy, Yeah – I love that –
But He doesn’t have a good vision and oppose to idealistic.
This is why He keep Subasic there and make Perisic in efficient!@ I was thinking about Rebic man marking Mbape and change Subasic right after the ball in easily!
….………Kramaric…..…A Rebic…….………..
….…..…..Rakitic………Halilovic……………
….Perisic….……Kovacic……….Vrsaljko….
..……D Vida….…Lovren…….CaleCar………
…………….……….L Kalinic…..…………………
Don’t they call us Wogs in Australia? Croatia has always been a small tribe fighting for its survival. We didn’t own any colonies so their whining is falling on death ears. Besides Miss Croatian Universe is black and we had Sammy and Eduardo on the NT a few years back.

https://www.sott.net/article/391609-French-anti-racist-organisation-calls-out-Croatian-football-team-for-being-too-white
“Each league in the UEFA Nations League will be allocated one of the four remaining UEFA Euro 2020 places. Four teams from each league which have not already qualified for the European Championship finals will compete in the play-offs of their league, to be played in March 2020. The play-off berths will be first allocated to each pool winner, and if any of the pool winners have already qualified for the European Championship finals, then to the next best ranked team of the division, etc.” -Wiki
One team out of this League will qualify for Euro2020. My guess would be Macedonia through Arjan Ademi’s world class football
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018–19_UEFA_Nations_League_D
As for Nations League..please use Wiki if you are unsure and don’t spew nonsense. Euro qualifiers will have 2 automatic qualification births from each group. Those who make the Nations League Semi Finals next June will be put in the Groups of 5 instead of 6 because there will be qualifiers in June. Now, that means 20 teams will qualify. There will be no 3rd place playoffs like for Euro2016. Instead, the top ranked teams from each League group that have not already qualified for the Euros will enter the playoffs. Since most of Leauge “A” teams will qualify, those spots might drop down to League B. Now, League “A” will have 4 teams battle it out for a Finals birth. League B…C..and D. That means 4 minnows who get railed out in qualifying will have a chance to qualify via playoffs from League D. Enjoy
Alright my simple minded beings. Jevaj got the nod because we had no right-back to replace Vrsaljko. Our mid field is stacked..why call Vlasic? prolly because youre all hajduk phags. As for Ante, the Ustasa remark was sarcastic my fellow beings
Dalić stock will never be this high again.
He probably is getting offered limited national team jobs for big time money.
He still needs to prove himself in Europe on club level.
Šuker is going to have to pony up either for Dalić or a quality equivalent.
Nobody is taking peanuts again to be treated like a circus clown.
Big money contract ensures you can’t be played by HNS.
Dalić should a new renegotiated two year deal.
Take this next crop of talented youngster through 2020 and then go to a good club in Germany or Italy.
He will then have all the relationships with potential Croatian transfers.
Šuker attempts to pocket the WC money should be blasted by media.
Never boring with Croatian soccer.
So if Croatia tops their Nations League group over England and Spain, they can completely screw up in next year’s Euro2020 qualifications and still get a playoff spot.
I think the top team in each group in League A, B, C, and D, get an automatic playoff berth if they fail to qualify via the Euro 2020 qualifying cycle.
I think four spots are available and those 16 teams battle it out for those remaining four spots. If you topped your Nations League group, but already qualified for Euro2020 via the qualification cycle anyway, then your spot just goes to the next ranked team in your group.
Does anyone understand how the UEFA League of Nations will affect euro 2022 qualifying?? And if so would you mind explaining it to me?
He looked like he didn’t sleep the night before the final and he had a bad starting lineup.
Dalic is soliciting clubs for “$5M+” as he calls himself the 2nd best coach in the world.
Dalic is ready to quit the national team in favor of a “$5M+” club contract. He proclaimed himself the 2nd best coach in the world.

France brought them there that’s their problem. Take it up with them and how they run their business. I didn’t say what should Or shouldn’t be happening when you conquer. . I’m stating why France is the way it is and it shouldn’t be getting credit for being multicultural per the Wahl article.
Communism almost destroyed Europe and now multiculturalism is being used to finish the job. Croatia, Russia, Hungary and Poland will save Europe. In 2038 Croatia will defeat Russia in the final. Poland beats Serbia for 3rd place.
I hope Dalic doesn’t leave. I read he is leaving.
Haha, just gonna leave these here and grab some popcorn:
https://www.sott.net/article/391609-French-anti-racist-organisation-calls-out-Croatian-football-team-for-being-too-white
In 42 years the worlds white population will by less than 10%. It’s okay to be white, just as it’s okay to be african or asian.
How does conquering a foreign race in their land mean that you must then have that foreign race and every other foreign race flood your own country and be interbred out of existence? WTF are you talking about? That’s self sacrifice. That’s sick.
The multiculturalism articles are weird, and I’m not sure if most readers buy that kind of stuff.
Pretty much any country that has a colonial or slave trading past will have an abundance of various ethnicities on their National teams.
Not sure if that is something to be proud of, especially if these different ethnicities aren’t regarded as equal citizens in the countries they are born in and represent.
Not surprising to see a lot of animosity in France, and riots, looting and fighting after this World Cup win. Meanwhile you have half a million Croats in downtown Zagreb without incidents.
France is screwed up as a result of their colonial past, and constant desire for cheap labour. People are celebrating the wrong things.
@Razbijac, if the Croatian football team becomes “diverse” like Belgium, England & France, you’ll still root for them as if nothing changed? You’ll pretend that a bunch of non-whites wearing Croatian costumes is the same as rooting for your own PEOPLE?
Those countries are multicultural because of colonization and the subjugation of foreign lands and their people. Do West Africans speak French because they picked it up on Rosetta Stone? Grant Wahl is an imbecile. Perhaps Croatia should go on some conquests to achieve multiculturalism?
And Hrvati are back to business as usual winning trophies again! As Mitrovic and new signing Karlo Letica started and went the distance for Club Bruges in their 2-1 victory over Standard Liege in the Belgium Super Cup!
Yeah Sosa and David Colina are two talented LBs. And in the future we’ll have a helluva defense:
L. Kalinic–Vrsaljko, “Big Ben” Benkovic, Caleta-Car, Sosa.
That’s a defense that won’t let in too many goals, as it’ll be more stingy than a Baba living off a pension
The media is calling “the french” final game win a “triumph of diversity”. Now you’re going to say that “diversity” doesn’t simply mean some thing or place that was once white and is now non-white?
Grant Wahl from Sports Illustrated said “3 out of the 4 semi-finalists were multicultural and this is something that should be emulated”. Now simple logic tells me that’s he’s saying white countries/teams becoming less white is good but Croatia staying white, staying Croatian, is bad. He’s not a traitor? You’re on his side right?
Yea, Čolina was highly rated and was on some top European prospects list.
Never seen him play, but not a bad idea to give him a call up if he starts playing regularly for Dinamo.
If other national teams can play random 19 and 20 year olds, so can we.
David Colina he is the future left back we’ve all been waiting for. He’s still young I think 18 years old I’m sure he’ll start slowly playing for Dinamo senior this year. Guy is supposed to be the real deal.
The best news about our future is that we finally have a conveyer belt of talent who can play ON THE WING.
People already forget that this used to be a BIG issue for us (prior to our Perišić days).
Now, we have Perišić, Rebić, Pjaca, Vlašić, Brekalo… This has been key to our offensive transformation.
Sosa is from Scarface must have Bolivian heritage background.
If you fight equal, the difference in our mental state will put you at a disadvantage. So don’t hesitate during the right!
This come to mental midget once we hesitate!
Our problem right now just to find player that diagnosis as mental midget!!
That’s encouraging.
LB casting calls should begin now.
Full respect to Strinic who played great in the final and Pivaric had a big time tournament as well.
Alas .. we all remember our best athlete in ‘98 was Robert Jarni who could run with anyone on the left flank.
There is a kid who is a couple of years younger than Sosa who looked the goods as well, I forgot his name? Scored a scorcher v Spain in our u17 hosting debacle.. the match was in Rijeka.
Adding a legit LB to the mix would add even more width to our attack.
Perisic once again has shown his world class quality in a major tournament as our undisputed LW.
Two things I am looking forward to:
Croatians making big time transfer moves to forward their club careers.
UNL next generation of ballers inspired by our world champion run.
Once again .. as alway .. it is a blessing to be Croatian.
If he can crack the starting eleven at Stuttgart, then he should be able to start for us.
France’s Pavard plays there too.
Is Borna Sosa good enough to play for the main squad?
Does Croatia have any young left backs? Leovac, Pivaric, Strinic, and Milic are all already 29 or 30. They will be OK for 2020, but we need to start building the next generation squad now.
@The past always haunts us
“and he didnt play at everton”
Vlasic played 575 mins at Everton last season, Jedvaj played 598 mins last season and made the world cup squad, so you can stop with your “he didn’t play” bullshit.
Some people can spot talent early, you obviously can’t.
You probably started thinking Modric was a good player only 4 years ago lol!
Nice job Iggy!!

What an idiot you are.
You called Ante K an Ustasa, now you call him a Yugo.
Make your mind up you moron, he can’t be both?
His “walk off the pitch” article was stupid, but it’s been explained on the other post that he didn’t know what he was doing, much like how you don’t know what you’re talking about.
p.s. vlasic is not a striker…and he didnt play at everton
@the real deal. How does Ante’s c0ck taste and feel? guess you really like riding it. Its easy to praise the team doing well at the world cup in post match videos. But hes still a yugo who gave up on this team in October and wanted them to walk off vs Ukraine.

but looks like no luck. don’t see them as available at FIFA site (hope i’m wrong) and looks like the only ones up at HNS site are the goalkeeper ones.
I’ve read and heard that France won the World Cup but Croatia have won the hearts of the world. I’m sure most of you here remember that my wife was born and raised in Mexico…and her family have been sending me videos this entire week of all the celebrations in Croatia along with videos of our songs! Now everyone wants to go to Croatia after seeing the love and passion Croatian people have!
The real reasons below why the ranking is delayed.
https://www.croatiaweek.com/fifa-rankings-croatia-jump-to-3rd-in-the-world/
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.timeslive.co.za/amp/sport/soccer/2018-07-20-fifas-new-system-leaves-bafana-hanging/
@gbvh – The HNS website was selling them and the FIFA website also. Google either or with “shop”.
We are now ranked 7th overall by the ELO ranking system (which is what FIFA will closely base their rankings on moving forward).
1. France
2. Brazil
3. Belgium
4. Spain
5. Germany
6. Uruguay
7. Croatia
8. Portugal
9. Colombia
10. England
I don’t mind being ranked behind France, Belgium and Brazil.
I do mind being ranked behind Spain and Germany. We are better than Spain right now. Germany is still transitioning between their young and old players, so we should be higher than them for now as well.
Uruguay is good, but I think we beat them.
We were ranked 16th by ELO going into the World Cup (which was probably fair). This new ranking system should be better.
Please a Pitana article on this site so I can vent and move towards closure!!
Does anyone find it odd that FIFA still hasn’t released the rankings for July?
It was supposed to be released July 19th.
from a globe and mail (canada) column i might have posted elsewhere.
VAR is supposed to be about reversing clear/cut shit. i’d say about 90 per cent of the opinions i’ve read/heard from say NOT a PK.
(and 100 per cent not a free kick earlier. robbed.)
>>>>Croatia will exit sport’s biggest stage feeling hard done by. Most of that animus will be directed at the referee, Nestor Pitana. The poor Argentine had an awful time of it in the early going.
>>He called a phantom foul that allowed the free kick that led to France’s first tally, a beautiful effort nodded into the Croatian net. Unfortunately, it was put in by a Croatian, Mario Mandzukic.
and
>>Croatia responded through Ivan Perisic. Then Mr. Pitana pooched it again – an uncalled handball in the box that turned into a grossly unfair penalty for the French once he’d had a long look at the replay.
>>We’d almost got to the end of a month without the Video Assistant Referee system revealing itself for what it is – a more scientific way of getting things wrong. Mr. Pitana has done soccer a service by reminding everyone that subjective things – such as whether someone intends to touch a ball while leaping and twisting in a forest of bodies – remain subjective no matter how long you stare at them.
Me too, I’m not over it. I’d like an article on Nestor Pitana, that 63 year old looking 43 year old so that it will be generated whenever he is googled. He did a crap job and should have been sent home before the finals like all the other Latin Americans.
not yet ready to turn the page. robbed.
do any of you fantastic bastards know a spot on line where the cro kits are still available? (the legit ones.)
slept on it pre-tournament and have been looking for them for the last 2-3 weeks….no luck. nike/world soccer shop sold out…
I think Modrić is resting and staying in Europe for entire US tour.
He may even be transferred?
Saw him back in the day with Crottenham Spurs .. super smooth Zidane like flow in his feet.
Vlašić is a direct running BEAST.
I would take that kid on my team everyday and twice on Sunday.
He is exactly the type of kid you take at these big tournaments.
When he comes on he shifts the energy.
Sam Alyrdyce is block head for benching him at Everton.
UNL is going take this next wave of talented boys and make them into young men.
Dalić should have fun with this project.
Most of been a subtle stress dealing with a fragile group of veterans who have under performed till this World Cup.
Now he can build from success.
These kids have the goods.
Uvijek Vjerni.
Anyone know how long Modric will be on holiday for? I wanted to know if he was gonna be with Real Madrid for there us tour ..was thinking about getting tickets I have to see him
Subasic is actually a good goal keeper with his composure but He upset us in Final match, everyone push their limit and playing with their heart, but Subasic really show digress to the team spirit!
Time is Over for him ‘
I don’t know if Modric should have another run in the next WC
depend on our next generation.

Agreed, and Mandzukic was rested in that game anyway, so really Kalinic shouldn’t have even been picked.
Against Iceland that is all Kalinic would have played.
“Just want to take a moment and remind everyone that Ustasa Ante Kvartuc gave up on this team in October and sh*t on Modric for being a criminal.”
Did you not watch the post game shows, I’d say he far from gave up on the team!
It would be more likely that you have just started following the team because we’ve finished second this world cup.
Did you notice how many guys on this site are proud to be Croat now that we finished second at the world cup? They weren’t proud Croats before, so sad, they need football success to be proud Croats.
Good on Nikola Kalinic for not wanting a medal, it was Dalic’s fault for picking him in the squad to begin with. Shoulda picked Vlasic.
Which games do you meatheads actually think Kalinic woulda played in at this WC?
Further FYI to all the Croatians in the Toronto area…

Dinamo play this week against Hapoel Beer Sheva in Champions league
@ Toronto Croatia
Unfortunately the Nikola Kalinic fiasco was another healthy bi-product of our historic run.
Short sighted Hrvati not down with being a world champion need to keep your ass at home with mama i tata.
@ BZ
Is LOVRE Kalinic better than Subasic?
Remember Subasic was just an upgrade to an over the hill and emotional distraught Pletikosa.
We have a core of next now 20 something’s trying to make a name for themselves.
Curious who breaks through first?
Kovačić has my vote.
Electric dribble attack.
Needs a club where he is the center of proceedings.
That Thai Cave football team is a fishy conspiracy story they have become TV zvijezde.
Suba is like the elephant in the room – everyone knows he played like shit, or at least should know but not many want to talk about it.
Sure he stopped some penalties along the way but you could argue with better games during regulation time from Suba, we would’nt have had to go to extra time.
Stopping penalties does not make you a good keeper. It makes you a good penalty stopper.
Let me put it this way: if we had Lloris and the French had Suba, who wins that game?
Yup – we do.
@Mixed Grill- again? Subasic was not hurt, he just gets csught wrong-footed way too often. Good Injured goalies at least make a weak effort, cause their fundamentals are good enough to keep them from bring wrong-footed.
I didn’t give a toss when Kalinic got sent home but as it turns out, we made such a long run we really did need a full squad. If we’d had another striker who wasn’t a shit-for-brains, he surely would’ve got a game at some stage.
Ah well, is history now. He’ll never play for Hrvatska again, obviously, so good riddance to bad rubbish there.
The trainers would’ve given him the benefit of the doubt. Pretty obvious he’s full of shit.
@mixed grill
Nope. Kalinic did not do the right thing. He should of stayed home and given the spot to someone else.
Maybe he was injured and did the right thing? Maybe Subasic should have done the same?

never forgot Srna vs Kalinic years ago. Srna always knew he was a scrub
Nikola Kalinic an idiot.
Kalinic has been called the future of Croatian Football.
Kalinic sounds like a douche bag.
He should’ve said “Thank you, but I did not WANT to play in Russia.” Fuck, imagine being in a trench with that guy..
For the record….if anyone was curious apparently Nikola Kalinic declined accepting the runners-up medal saying …”Thank you, but I did not play in Russia.”
Let this be a lesson kids … don’t be a Nikola Kalanic.
Hajduk Split will be eliminated early as usual only and Osijek. Dinamo and Rijeka another boring season ahead of us.
