Luka Modrić and Real Madrid have one foot in the Champions League semifinals after defeating Chelsea 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu Wednesday night; where they will surely meet Manchester City. Modrić got the start and played 81 minutes in the win, receiving a 7.9 FOTMOB rating. 90min.com said this of Modrić: “Pressed with impressive energy to force Chelsea into mistakes at the back.” He also nearly scored a magnificent curler that sailed just over the crossbar. Another solid performance from the 37 year-old.
Mateo Kovačić played all 90 minutes for 10-man Chelsea as Ben Chillwell was sent off in the 59th minute. Kova received a 5/10 score from Goal.com as he “Passed the ball well but this was another one of those big games where you’re left wanting an awful lot more from the talented Croatian.”
Marcelo Brozović received MOTM honors and an 8.5/10 rating from SempreMilan as “Epic Brozo finally returned today. An absolute machine in the midfield, retaining, intercepting and recycling the ball. He was everywhere.” This is without Broz even picking up a goal or assist in Inter Milan’s 2-0 road win over Benfica. Inter are halfway to the Champions League semifinals where they would meet another Italian side; either Napoli or AC Milan. Petar Musa remained on the bench for Benfica in this match.
Ante Rebić came off the bench for the last 10 minutes in a huge 1-0 AC Milan win over Napoli at San Siro. Could it be a Derby d’Milano in the CL semifinals with a place in the final on the line?
Josip Stanišić remiained on the bench as an unused sub Tuesday as Man City rolled over Bayern Munich 3-0 in their first leg quarterfinal. Hard to come back after that kind of result, even at home. It’s shaping up to be a huge CL semifinal clash between reigning champions Real Madrid and mighty Manchester City.

Broz vs luka in final would be epic, pun intended!

City are looking dangerous, but are a BS oil money team. I hope they lose. If they end up going through which seems likely, I hope RM take them down. After all, RM are something else in the UCL. If anyone can stop City, it’s RM.
I’m rooting for Inter all the way, would be nice to see Brozovic vs. Modric in the final.
Unfortunately, both Man City and Napoli look the strongest on each side of the bracket.
Marcelo Brozovic – 8,5 (MOTM): Epic Brozo finally returned today. An absolute machine in the midfield, retaining, intercepting and recycling the ball. He was everywhere.
You have a nogometaš in the squad .. you play him!!
Apparently Brozovic was big time today.
Would be something else to see broz win it with inter
Don’t know where he would go
Would be amazing somehow to see luka broz and kova team up somewhere for a cl run
Never happen but how cool would that be
You have a quality nogometaš and you bench him at your peril.

How did Brozovic play today ?

King broz is back!!
Nice to see him get a man of the match. One of my favourite players for sure.
I kind of expected city to beat Bayern as much as I wanted Bayern to win. But if they are not playing Stanisic then I am not surprised you need a defensively minded person against a high scoring team like City, Stanisic is that person I believe and he has a lot of speed. I don’t think that the coach had the right strategy here.
On the other side of it I am happy Inter ran away with their game. I really want Broz in the final.
I’m pulling for City to win just to punish Bayern and Tuchel for not playing Stanisic. I have no love for City but if you have a disciplined warrior with no ego like Stanisic and you chose to play a big mouth Portuguese or Frenchie instead, you deserve to lose. Let them burn to the ground and then wonder what went wrong. Trade Stanisic if you’re not going to play him. I hope they lose every game that Stanisic doesn’t play.
I’m pulling against City just because they are a fake team.

Yes, hopefully Bayern defeats city. Either way, Real always seem to find a way through the best opponents. Hopefully Luka can add another trophy to his cabinet. On the other side of the bracket, I think Napoli are the favorites. Inter will likely knock-out Benfica, and judging by the Serie A table, Napoli are miles ahead of both Milan teams. I hope for a “Real vs Inter” final, but realistically I think it will be “Real vs Napoli”.
