It took some help from Lokomotiva and Slaven Belupo, but Građanski Nogometni Klub Dinamo Zagreb clinched their eighth consecutive Prva Liga title, and 25th over all league title, on Sunday, April 21, 2013.
Youngster Tin Jedvaj scored his first ever professional goal to achieve a 1-0 victory over Cibalia on Saturday, helping his team take all three points needed to claim the top of the league, as long as Rijeka dropped three points to the Lokosi and if Slaven took even a single point from Hajduk.
Dinamo wasted no time, and still have five matches to go until the end of the season. Their last match will feature a visit from Hajduk, who are still struggling to attain the second place spot.
This will be the first trophy for several newcomers on the team such as Tin Jedjav, Alen Halilović, and Fran Brodić, among others, who are only just beginning what could and should be long and successful careers. Surely, this is a stepping stone to great things for these young players.
This will be the fifth title for veteran goalkeeper, Ivan Kelava, and third title for veteran Jerko Leko, and seventh Croatian title for Sammir.
The Croatian Champions will now once again throw their hat in the ring and battle for the coveted spot in the UEFA Champions League.
NK Lokomotiva and RNK Split are currently the holders of the other two European births on the table, while Hajduk still has a chance to make it in via the Hrvatski Kup if second place falls out of reach.

@Ziva – so true, can’t get a chair at any cafe during the day – all filled with the young locals.
Do like the “Stanley Bet” sports gambling boutiques they have there – keeps me entertained.
Another line they can add in……”no work will take place here either, it never does.”

This is how f’d up we are in and around Zadar.
@Ziva Istina
Oh well!
🙂
My biggest complaint is the lack of suites. None in Poljud and not too many in Maksimir. But, Puppet Suker wants to build more suites in Maksimir, which is puzzling because he wont use any savez money for the other stadiums.
@NJ
True!
Maksimir and Poljud are both shit. To try and justify one or the other is better is just hilarious. Neither of these stadiums can compare to a real one and both are embarrassing. Money needs to be invested properly to maintain a stadium or buiild it properly from the start.

Thought someone out there might appreciate this
From a Hajduk fan- Congratulations. (I also support Liverpool so you can imagine how the last 10-20years has been for me)
On another note I wanted to discuss the Maksimir stadium. I was at the Croatia Serbia game and there were a few things that I thought were well below par;
1. There were beer tents outside the stadium ( well above par), but no toilets! People were pissing all over the place. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise though as I ended up chatting to a random fellow Hajduk fan while pissing on a fence- and he know’s a mate of my brother’s in Johannesburg! We had a good few beers with him and made a good contact.
2. The entire zapad stand (where I sat) had to enter and exit through one entrance. That’s probably about 9000 people! It took ages to get in and out- serious safety issues. Not sure about the other stands
3. There is no way to get to a toilet when the game is on as the stairs are blocked with people. After drinking beer all day that’s torture,then when you get a chance to get out there at half time there were a handful of portable toilets for thousands of people, again, people pissing all over the stadium walls (quite enjoyed that as a hajduk fan). Can’t imagine what would of happened in an emergency.
4. The stands are so far from the pitch and not covered so a lot of the volume is lost. Our fans are amongst the best in the world and a stadium with normal acoustics would sound insane, it’s already loud as is.
I live in South Africa and the stadiums here (post world cup) show just how crap Maksimir is.
So what’s my point- HNS/Government/Zagreb/Dinamo, sort out Maksimir asap and give us a national stadium we can be proud of and makes opposing teams shit in their pants. (To all the Hajuk haters out there, note i have not been to a game at the Poljud for many years and make no comments on it, although she is still much more beautiful!)
@ Croatia vs Antwrep
LMAO. Great line. “You’re being ungrateful towards Dinamo. You should bend the knee and give thanks to the club.”-Croatia vs Antwrep
you guys are wrong about my jadan Hajduk……..if you are a fan of the repka, you should give proper respect to Hajduk. If it wasn’t for Hajduk turning away talented players, those players never would have found their way to Dinamo.
Bend a knee and give thanks to Dinamo?
HNS is supposed represent all of Croatia, not just a particular city or club (although it may seem like that with games being played only in Zagreb).
This giving thanks to Dinamo or Hajduk or whatever is the same bullshit that divides Croatians. Why? When Boban kicked that cop to defend the Dinamo supporters, he didn’t do it for Dinamo, he did it for our country. When Boksic scored for Hajduk in Belgrade in 1991, he did it for Croatia.
There really is no better anthem for a supporter group in the former jugo than Dinamo Ja Volim. That song makes you insane. Torcida, Grobari, Delije don’t have one that makes you more pumped up. I u nebo s njim…
Say what you will but The BBB anthem is the best.
@ Cico
Those players benefited from being in Dinamo’s youth development system, they became the players they are today because of it.
You’re being ungrateful towards Dinamo. You should bend the knee and give thanks to the club.
Cro vs Ant. Croatian Soccer would be Extinct if it wasn’t for that Arrogant-Mamic/Dinamo ? Sir , i beg to differ ! If it wasn’t for A-M/d , the players they have had would have been on the other HNL teams , and the league would be much more competative ! I do Thank the Good Players that came out of that , that , team . Maybe some coaches , But that’s it ! Also Ivica the (G) is not what U think it is for . Bog , Hrvati , Hajduk , i HNS !!!
@Croatia Antwerp
I agree with you. The rational fans understand the contributions that Dinamo and Hajduk plus some of the other teams in Prva Liga have made to the national team. On the other hand the irrational and confused like CIco have tunnel vision.
@cico
Yeah You must be delusional. Hajduk is the most loved team in the world. Come on you put them up with barca or Real Madrid. Thank you for the good laugh. By the way not Hns you dipshit but agree with him/her. Bog, Hrvati, Dinamo I Hns. Enjoy third place. Good night and remember to take your medication.
🙂
When was the last time Croatia has had an 18 year old playing as well as Kovacic?
I’m guessing Prosinecki and Boban (that’s just a gues since I wasn’t following Croatian soccer that far back).
@HNS
Without out GNK Dinamo, Croatian football would have been extinct like the Dinosaur. We would have been like Hungry, which once boasted the Magical Magyars, and are now a third rate team.
All Croatian fans should thank GNK Dinamo (even Hajduk fans) for it’s contributions to the National Team and Croatian football.
Split , U finally listened to me , & Changed your name to Hns ! Fala Bogu . But now HNS has to Deal with a Pizda like U ! The Beautiful People of Split r now Happy ! U should call yourself Zagreb . U can fit right in ! HAJDUK ZIVI VJECNO !!!
Also should give credit to Olic and Eduardo. Like Mario and Modric all product of Dinamo. Without them last two victories would not of happened. Shit add in Kovacic. Damn I see a trend here. Without Dinamo Hns is not winning. Bog Hrvati Dinamo I Hns.
Also GNK Dinamo Zagreb most loved team. Hvala Dinamo.
Actually the two who constantly save us are Mario and Modric.
Thank you Dinamo. Bog Hrvati dinamo I hns
HNS Says Thanks to the Most Loved Team In the World HAJDUK for our Goalkepper Mr. Pletikosa for Saving Our Ass Many a Time ! Thank U ! We Will Be Back !! Srce Za Hajduka ! Naprid Bili !! Torcida 4 Life ! Bog, Hrvati, Hajduk, i HNS !!!
Love when they added Gradanski to the name.
Glad they put that ‘G’ in front of the NK Dinamo Zagreb name.
Hopefully they start to spell it out and continue to refer to it as Građanski Klub Dinamo.
Get some millionaire to invest in the current HAŠK Zagreb club. Slowly but steadily start with the “Građanski” chants…and we’ve got ourselves a city rivalry that a few 90-year olds may remember.
🙂
Beautiful day! Here’s to hoping Dinamo crush Hajduk in the last game and deny them a European spot!
@rob
HNS thanks Dinamo.
I’m a Hajduk fan, but what Dinamo has done on the field and helping produce the vast majority of our national team players is admirable.
Apart from Mamic, that club is good for Croatian football
@Miro
I have been impressed with Dinamo. Four starters that come to mind this year have been under 18 and all played well. I think Dinamo has the right mix of youth and veterans.
HAJDUK ZIVI VJECNO NA TRECEN MISTU!!
Jadnici
I want a HNL with a youth movement
Congratulations Dinamo.
@19Miro50 , Please don’t fall into these falsehoods! Even one of their own keeps saying that Mamic is up to no good ! How U can support a Lieing Arrogant team is amazing ! Come on my Hajduk brother , don’t listen to these Lies ! Naprid Bili !!! FOREVER Torcida , i Hajduk !!!
Wow how Hajduk has fallen. Bravo Dinamo.
By far the most loved and popular team in and outside Croatia is Dinamo.
Bog Hrvati Dinamo I Hns.
@ Cico so america is also comunist they have a Dinamo Houston ahahah!
Also that kup Final is Dinamo 2- v Hajduk.
Go Dinamo!!! They are awesome! Job well done!
And Lokomotiva vs Hajduk, finally something to make things interesting.
BIG DEAL ! Nice way to CHEAT your way to another Chapionship ! Arrogant Mamic/dinamo , the N.Y. Yankees of Croatia ! Wow they Buy their Championships ! When U win the Championship without losing a game then come talk to the Most Loved Team in Croatia ,& The World – HAJDUK !!! P.S. change the Commie name allready ! Torcida 4 Life ! Bog , Hrvati , Hajduk , i HNS !!!
Congrats to Dinamo i am a Hjaduk fan but love that Dinamo have young talent that will help the national team. I think ingeneral HNl should be a team of youngsters and like only 3 veterans not the whole starting 11 of veterans let the kids play something Miso didnt do this year
Well done GNK Dinamo.
The race for second and third will be interesting.
MAMICU CIGANE ODLAZI IZ SVETINJE!
MOJA MOLITVA JE DINAMO SVETINJA…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kt52Y405MRo
