Hajduk Split are one step closer to Conference League football!
After a 3-1 victory at Poljud vs. Vitoria, Hajduk managed to hold onto their aggregate lead in the return leg and progress to the fourth round of UECL qualifying. Although it wasn’t the best performance from Hajduk, their defense held strong after conceding a beautiful goal in the fifth minute of leg two. Lovre Kalinić looked great in net (again!), and Hajduk’s midfield did just enough to control the second half.
Hajduk will now face Villarreal in the next round.
Great opportunity in the next round Villarreal is a legit team
You never know hajduk could come out with it
But regardless it’s good for them, split and Croatia
Here is a chance for kalinic to maybe really get back into the mix
If I have World Cup final tomorrow and I have to pick either him or livakovic, some may call me crazy but I go with kalinic

This is a good time for Hajduk to turn their fortunes.
The gap between Hajduk and Dinamo is not big at all, and Dambrauskas is a much better coach than Cacic.
Some key Dinamo guys may be transferring out over the next year (Ivanusec, Orsic, Sutalo), whereas I’m not sure that is the case for the Hajduk players.
If Hajduk scores a HNL title and gets into Champions League qualification, they become more attractive to former NT veterans to sign back with them prior to retirement.
Ivan Perisic will probably sign with Hajduk after his two-year deal at Spurs is over. Even as a 35 year-old veteran backup, that would be huge for Hajduk. He may even bring in some pals (like Dzeko who is a Hajduk fan and lives part time in Dubrovnik) to play out his final years close to home.
Watch Modric then sign with Dinamo to mess all that up, lol. Would be a great league if we can get a combination of Cro National team veterans (closing out their careers) and youth prospects playing together. No need for these waste-of-money foreign B-league vets anymore.
That Nigerian guy Hajduk just signed has done his part off the bench to perfection in the two matches against Vitoria, but I guess he was an A-league player in a few different places before coming to Croatia
Yeah.
Hajduk started 10 Croats. I love that.
In previous seasons, they would (for whatever reason) have like 6 foreigners starting, largely making up their entire central midfield (in a country that produces the best midfielders in the world).
A big week for Croatian clubs in Europe after a nightmare start (Osijek/Rijeka/Dinamo being held at home by some Macedonian amateurs). Was really impressed that Hajduk was able to keep their heads after falling behind 1-0 in both games. Dont know much about Dambrauskas, but he has these players fighting for him.
Congrats to Hajduk advancing. Watched the end and post game on right now…those pork chops are wild….in particular the brothers…lol
Throwing chairs during the corner, bottles, etc….hope uefa lays some heavy fines on those clowns.
Hajduk won the mental aspect of that match. Vitoria began to lose their temper in the first half. Dambrauskas has some good chemistry brewing in that locker room…
Yes agreed, when everyone on the team understands and accepts the plan, everything is possible! I think they’ll be a very tough challenge for Villarreal! One game at a time!
Hajduk in a big fight to make it through this game with Vitoria and this ref has already fucked them over! Some rapping lookin dude smacked Sahiti in the face and that’s a straight red …just a shit show!
I’m definitely hopeful Hajduk can pull through…it’s 1-0 for Vitoria and if it stays this way Hajduk go through!
Looks like Hajduk got through. With that I could have watched either game.
I’ll have to rely on what people say about the game.
