Playing for their first medal in 18 years, Croatia played with heart and intensity, fighting back multiple times, but falling to the very talented Spain 92-66. Croatia were able to keep the game close for most of the first half thanks to 18 points from Bojan Bogdanović, but Spain went on a run to close out the half up 11. Bogdanović went cold in the second half, scoring only four points. Spain were led by Sergio Llull, who was 5/10 from behind the arc. After the game, Bojan Bogdanović was named to the all tournament team, along with NBA players Tony Parker, Linas Kleiza, Goran Dragic, and Marc Gasol.
France celebrate their title
disappointing final two games but overall great performance from low expectations. if this were soccer and we finished 4th at the euros, i feel like we’d be pretty happy.
glad to see bogdanovic perform thru the tournament and end up all the all tournament team next to pretty much all other nba players . the one thing that concerned me was that he didn’t shout 3s at an efficient clip whereas he had built his reputation early on as a dead eye shooter
The big Spaniard looked like Ronald McDonald.
Spain is the standard of European basketball.
It was good for our core to go against them twice.
Need to subtract some stiffs and add some more of our young studs.
Saric will improve. Needs to add 6″ on vertical amend continue to work on his range. With his handle he has to become a 3-4. Now he is a 4-3.
Bojan is a BEAST! A real power guard who can stick the 3 ball. Nets are crazy to not get him in uniform for this season. He could be the X factor off the bench as he acclimates to the NBA game.
Repsesa deserves a raise. Good luck on collecting!
Let me be the first to say, we got our asses kicked. BUT it looks like we’re going into the right direction rebuilding the basketball program.
Spain obviously the better team, but, even the ESPN commentators were saying the refs were favoring Spain.
In a 10 second stretch there was a blown foul call, a kicked ball and a backcourt violation that didn’t go our way. Refs sometimes relax in a blowout.
Also, a little disappointed in the crowd today. Blown opportunity on a big stage to show off our support – win or lose.
Still, very pleased and happy for our boys. Put basketball back in our minds for the first time in many years – maybe it will inspire other youngsters to play and keep improving.
Disappointed in Tomic, Ukic, and Simon. Bogdanovic is ready for the NBA. Saric needs some coaching…but the one player who played with heart (even with limited talent) was Luka Zoric. Bravo my man, gonna have a Karlovacko for you.
Three weeks until we beat Belgium, and a month until the U17 tournament begins.
So sad..but still 4 place isnt bad at all! Croatians didnt had their game today. You need couple more guys like Bogdanovic then would be ok.
too bad draper cant shoot and tomic is so soft
Is it just me or is Spain getting all the calls. This like just like our match against them in the Euros. Looks to me like the more debt your country has, the help you get in sports to keep the sheep calmed down.
Fucking sad if you ask me.
Terrible end to the half
He’s heating up, we got a good game here
BOJAN such a boss!
HEY we are leading in turnovers.
Who’s the homeless guy playing for Spain as point guard?
Why wouldnt you watch?
Down 5 after 1, gonna be tough
I promised myself I wouldn’t watch the game, but I just can’t help myself.
Regardless of the outcome I’m proud of them. I will say this, our token can’t make a shot to save his life.
It’s on ESPN3/WatchESPN if you get that. Otherwise, here are some links: http://www.wiziwig.tv/broadcast.php?matchid=221396&part=sports
Compete, defend, have fun and attack the rack.
Ready form tip off to fire up the hrvati.
This game will show how far we progressed in two weeks
Stari is hype to watch this one! That’s says it all. This team has allowed us to reclaim our love of basketball.
Ajmo decki !
