Croatia started the 2014 Euro Handball tournament off on the right foot today, beating Belarus 33-22 to win their opening match.
The tournament, which kicked off yesterday, takes place in Denmark this year, and Croatia played their first match with convincing skill.
Ivan Čupić and Zlatko Horvat both helped the “Kouboij” to victory with six goals a piece with Čupić taking part in Croatia’s five-point run in the beginning of the match.
Goalkeeper Mirko Alilović had a busy game, stopping 12 of the 26 shots he faced. Croatia now wait until Friday to play their second match which is against Sweden. Sweden is coming off a victory themselves, beating Montenegro today with a score of 28-21.
The games are all streamed on Youtube so no more crappy streams that go in and out!
The game against Sweden is big, assuming we take care of CG. It will determine if we carry over 4 points or 2 points into the second round. Only the top two advance after the second round when the groups are merged.
I saw their game. They rocked! Zlatko Horvat scored against 100 procent.
One mistake in the article: Croatia won’t have to wait until Friday. Hrvatska will play Montenegro Wednesday.
