The date is set. Dinamo Zagreb will be entered into the group stage draw for the Champions League on Thursday, Aug. 27 after beating Albania’s KF Skenderbeu Korce 4-1 today (6-2 agg).
Dinamo went into today’s match with high expectations after beating the Albanian side away last week 2-1 with a last-minute stunner by Josip Pivarić.
The Modri were expected to advance after playing at Maksimir and started the scoring off in the ninth minute with a goal from El Arbi Hillel Soudani.
Soudani headed in a goal that came from an opposite field cross sent in from Pivarić to give the Modri an early lead.
But the celebrating did not last thanks to a goal from the Brazilian-born Esquerdinha that tied the match only seconds later, giving the Albanians a boost in morale.
Armin Hođžić did his part in making sure the contest was in Dinamo’s favor and recaptured the lead in the 15th minute.
The frenzy of goals left the first half with a score of 2-1 in favor of Dinamo.
The second half started off with an unfortunate second yellow card for Goncalo who was sent off in the 48th minute, leaving Dinamo with a big disadvantage.
But it didn’t look that way by the way the game continued.
Dinamo would go on to score a third goal in the 55th minute thanks to an effort by Jeremy Taravel.
Zoran Mamić decided to go for broke and added Marko Rog to the mix to try and score another goal, but it was Soudani who would again find himself on the scoresheet in the 80th minute and gave Dinamo the final 4-1 lead that would send them into the Champions League proper.
With the majority of the possession, Dinamo also held the bulk of the scoring chances and deservedly won the match and gave the crowd of 17,000 a reason to cheer.
“Sorry, i didnt realise it was only people of one political alignment who fought. I guess anyone leftist just stood by ? My apologies ! I’ll keep that in mind for future”
Wow, class act Iggy making sarcastic comments about people giving their lives for the domovina. Nicely done mate. The Croatian independence movement was a right wing movement, fact. If you don’t think that’s the case then prove it.
The left in Croatia actively fought for Yugoslavia. It was the Croatian left who helped create Yugoslavia back in 1918 and then again in 1945. Its the Croatian left that bled our people and our country dry. And it was the Australian left that supported Yugoslavia and supported Tito. It was the Australian left that collaborated with the UDBA who saw the lives of Australian Croats ruined. Have a little fucking respect.
“I don’t think it’s quite fair to say all lefties are communist. As i said, nothing radical about wanting a fairer society. Northern Europe is a good benchmark. Would you call Sweden, Norway etc communist then ??? Interested to know ?”
Who said ‘all’ lefties are communist, don’t put words in my mouth. I’m pro IRA/Sin Fein, pro ETA, pro Fatah, all left wing groups who are also nationalists. These are left wing groups based in morality, unlike many others on the far left who betray their people, their culture and traditions for bullshit ideals that at their very heart are anti human and totalitarian. Which is definitely the characteristic of the soft cock hipster leftie in Australia. Mostly stupid Anglos suffering from bullshit white guilt, and those are the people you associate with? You’ve been sucked in bigtime.
“As for the Greens, the fact you can link to one particular nut is no big deal. Is Cori Bernardi representative of the entire Libs? Of course not, he’s a nutjob. Nobody thinks he represents the party. No reason to think any more about Lee Rhiannon. ”
Did I say one person? I gave you a direct example of an individual. But I also quite clearly outlined a mass involvement of communists in the Greens movement. Cross party memberships was the norm since day on of the existence of the Greens. Active communist members would join any far left political party that popped up, that was part of their political strategy for god sake. They did that with the Labor party in the late 40s ad 50s, infiltrating the party via the unions. Thats what led to the Labor split which saw the creation of the DLP. And like I said after the Soviet Union fell and communist parties disbanded there was a large scale movement from those parties to the Greens. In NSW they completely took over that branch. Do a little research instead of living in ignorance mate
“But i notice you didnt reply to the Q i asked about are you actually happy with Abbott? ”
I think Australian politics in general is a mess. A bunch of losers looking out for their own interests. This country is well and truly fucked. But the fact that you actually believe the Greens are different and not part of the problem is so naïve that I actually feel bad for you. They are not a viable alternative.
Isnt religion and politics just the best!?
Aren’t we just the kindest and most loving beings on this planet?
Yaaay humans!
@MelbCro – no, i do know what u mean about the ALP and trial by slander was required reading in my household.
I don’t think it’s quite fair to say all lefties are communist. As i said, nothing radical about wanting a fairer society. Northern Europe is a good benchmark. Would you call Sweden, Norway etc communist then ??? Interested to know ?
As for the Greens, the fact you can link to one particular nut is no big deal. Is Cori Bernardi representative of the entire Libs? Of course not, he’s a nutjob. Nobody thinks he represents the party. No reason to think any more about Lee Rhiannon.
But i notice you didnt reply to the Q i asked about are you actually happy with Abbott?
To say the greens are radical. Well, let’s see, as soon as Abbott and his cigar-chomping fatcat friend Hockey got in, we saw their goal for a very different Aus:
No welfare for the unemployed/sick
An end to free health care in this country
deregulation of uni fees etc
_This_ is radical. It’s a radical change to americanise australia. Thanks but no thanks.
Now on what you and a few others said about culture being passed on, yes i agree it is disappointing – sad.
I wish so much i spoke the language and could engage more and i just wanted to say i didn tmean to say i was indifferent to being isolated from the community in my above comment. I think it’s really sad. My brother is the same as me and his kids will basically not have any real association with hrvatska, and i dont plan to have any kids so our line will kinda die out there (so far as ties to hrvatska go). I think that’s really sad for sure.
Now, on your last comment about right wingers –
“t was right wing Croats who fought and died for Croatia, who bled for our domovina. And you call them cunts?”
Sorry, i didnt realise it was only people of one political alignment who fought. I guess anyone leftist just stood by ? My apologies ! I’ll keep that in mind for future 😉
Croatian hopes died with Ante Paradzik.
One of the favourite catchphrases of the modern Croat is you gotta move with the times. There’s gonna be nothing for future generations, you heard Slavonac people are to busy, and yet somehow he believes the youth have to keep the communities going. Monkey gonna do what monkey see! I’m 37 and I call my generation, generation svejedno, so what chance do the youth have. Croatia is fucked!
What is Croatian catechism, never heard of it?
Slavonac gotta come up with some better tactics in Fatherhood.
“Gillard was very stridently opposed to Hrvatska gaining any sort of independence and being recognised as such – surprised you weren’t aware of that? This is obviously going back many years, though. I know my Dad really disliked her even in recent years and would never have voted for a party with her as leader, perhaps largely for that reason.”
First of all you still don’t know what I was referring to. I’m talking about the complicit collaboration between the Labor party and the UDBA. The disgusting treatment of Croats under the Whitlam government, where the civil liberties of Croats were trampled on. Or how about the Labor party allowing Australian citizens to be executed by the Tito follow the Bugonjo uprising. And lets not forgot the communist infiltration that occurred via the union movement into the Labor Party which had to be fought intensely by Australian Catholics under Santamaria (RIP).
On Gillard, she wasn’t involved in politics until 1995, years after Croatia gained independence. She was a lawyer working within the union movement during the war. So what on earth are you on about?
“Greens aren’t communists. Socialist, yes, i can accept. And that’s a badge i’d gladly wear myself too.”
Socialists more often than not are communists, the term socialist is always used by commies to try and deceive people. Its become a PC term used by the far left to soften their image.
The Greens have a long history of being connected to the Communist Party. particularly after the fall of the Soviet Union when most of the communist parties in Australia disbanded. those members flooded and took control of the Greens party, particularly the NSW branch. Current Greens senator Lee Rhiannon was a member of the Communist party for decades, and it was the Stalinist branch. So how can you with a straight face sit there and say to me the Greens aren’t communists.
“ALP is too far right for my liking, for example, take their treatment of refugees. Nearly identical to Lib. Now, i can understand the political reasoning for that but it seems heartless to me. ”
The ALP is far right? Do you even know what the far right is? Both Labor and Liberals are moderate parties. There is only one major political party on Australia that is on the far end of the political spectrum, and that’s the Greens. They are an extremist part, one that has been enabling the Islamist movement. That’s who you vote for, you are the very definition of an irresponsible voter. Wasting your vote on empowering the lunatic fringe.
How about we go back to your original comment the right wingers are cunts. It was right wing Croats who fought and died for Croatia, who bled for our domovina. And you call them cunts? Who is it that currently undermines Croatia and is trying to destroy the country, its the left under the banner of ‘socialism’. That’s the political tradition that you say you are following. Good luck with that.
@Iggy
I understood why you were praising Horvat, from where he was to where he is now, impressive. Just shows how important it is to have a good mother. Horvat’s story reminds me a bit of Saint Augustine and his mother Monica.
Sorry Iggy I thought you were Catholic.
Gillard was very stridently opposed to Hrvatska gaining any sort of independence and being recognised as such – surprised you weren’t aware of that? This is obviously going back many years, though. I know my Dad really disliked her even in recent years and would never have voted for a party with her as leader, perhaps largely for that reason.
Greens aren’t communists. Socialist, yes, i can accept. And that’s a badge i’d gladly wear myself too.
ALP is too far right for my liking, for example, take their treatment of refugees. Nearly identical to Lib. Now, i can understand the political reasoning for that but it seems heartless to me.
Not saying all borders should be open at all, but you can treat people with decency and have border controls, they aren’t mutually exclusive. Look at the news coming out about the child rapes etc happening to people under our care. Just yesterday i was at The Guardian’s website and they had an exclusive on one such tale. Im sure you would be aware since that must be one of your staple news sources? 😉
As for drifting away from the community.. it’s easily explained. When i was younger, i went to many functions, and Croatian church every week, to all the weddings at the club, i went to some dances and things at the club at Rocklea etc – but i never learned the language. So really that made it a bridge too far and to some degree am always excluded.
And before u bash me, yes i have tried to learn a number of times but im not very good with learning things like that and was too old by that time. Unfortunately i didnt learn it young as is the case, so really that is the isolating factor. Oh and for the record im 33 so not young any more !
“Hammer says:
@Iggy
So you’re glad Horvat mentioned pre-marital sex, but you’re not glad the Bible says that homosexuality is against nature. Sounds like selective appreciation, right winger.”
Hammer, u misread my point. I was glad that Horvat’s religiosity has internal integrity. That was the point i was making.
No point turning it on me, im agnostic and i dont ascribe to any of those views about pre-marital sex or any of it. My point was to state for those who claim to be Catholics as an essential part of their identity, it is frankly disgraceful to pick up on the anti-gay points in the bible and use that as a basis for being against gay marriage while at the same time joking about banging whores and which whores are the best to bang (we have heard these conversations multiple times in these threads).
I was praising the fact Horvat himself is not a selective Catholic, like those people who apply it to one thing which suits them but conveniently forget about the pre-marital sex or helping the poor, etc.
Well, at least my Gunners should make the final 16 again..
You can maybe see dinamo getting a result at home against Olympiacos or maybe in the last group game if whoever they play is already through and they play the reserves.
Group F: Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Olympiacos, DNK Dinamo
confirmed…we will get spanked!
Forgive me for my spelling. I should slow down.
Iggy, I never intended to insult you in any way.
I simply wanted to explain why Christians should not be labeled hateful bighots simply because their God says that certain things are wrong.
I don’t disagree at all. I’m not sure how old Iggy is but I do agree the youth have to keep our communities going, no question about it. My comment was to address the fact that sometimes its not as easy to stay involved, life doesn’t always allow the time needed.
You should read the full extent of the conversation. Its primarily been about politics, that’s what I’m being critical of.
In terms of what you are saying I look at the Croatian communities here they are very much older in demographic, so what you are saying doesn’t add up from what I’m seeing. Its not the older guys turning away that’s an issue, its the youth not being actively involved that’s the problem. Regardless I’m not interested in excuses that people make, I’m interested in ensuring our communities survive and remain healthy so that there is something to actually pass on to future generations. If you disagree then we might as well just give up now, sell up every church, dom, soccer club etc. Game over.
MelbCro
sorry to get involved in your debate with Iggy but I have to chime in. I was a fixture in the Croatian community since I was a kid. The only thing I didn’t do was dance kolo or go to the Croatian church…I had a church close to my house…my dad worked a lot so it wasn’t easy to attend Croatian mass.
sadly, once I got into my 40’s and stopped playing soccer and have taken on more responsibilities with work and my kids, its tougher to be involved with Croatian soccer club and we live at least an hour from the Dom, its just not that easy to go there anymore. also, 90% of my friends still meet up and hang out with our families but hardly at the Dom unless we are celebrating Deseti Travanj or some other event…wedding, baptism, anniversary party for the soccer club.
its hard to put my kids in Croatian catechism, drive an hour and then get home after 9:30 pm when they have classes 25 minutes from my house….this shit happens MelbCro…nobody wants to distance themselves but at the same time, life takes over and circumstances change from when you’re younger and less responsibilities in life.
I don’t think its fair to criticize a person for moving away from the community…you have no idea about anything in Iggys life, why criticize him?
@Iggy
So you’re glad Horvat mentioned pre-marital sex, but you’re not glad the Bible says that homosexuality is against nature. Sounds like selective appreciation, right winger.
@Lovro
Definitely not like the lion tamer. HaHaHa
You should re-read some of your own comments.
…and you, Hammer, are flying a kite without a string.
“I’m aware of the background with Gillard etc and our community yes.”
I honestly have no idea what you are talking about
“The past is the past. You can’t hate ALP forever because of what happened in a different country in a different time and is unrelated.”
Again what on earth are you talking about. You clearly do not know at all what I’m referring to.
“Not at all active in the community, nope. Many many years ago i drifted away ”
I don’t understand that at all. Why would you drift away? Its that selfish attitude from many Croats that is seeing our communities slowly die.
” I personally vote Greens”
Why would you vote for a lunatic fringe party? So you are not even a moderate lefty, but an extremist leftist. That absolutely contradicts your comment “u can be leftist and not a communist”. I seriously have no words, I’ll pray for your soul tonight mate.
One thing i am glad Horvat mentioned is pre-marital sex.
Nice to see someone abiding by at least all the rules and not just those that suit them. We know there are countless grubs on here who are only Catholic when it suits them. One thing i will give you, Horvat, is i place you above those people.
“Iggy I take it you aren’t very active in the Croatian community in Brisbane?
I honestly don’t understand how an Aussie Croat can be left wing, considering what the left under communism did to our domovina. I can’t comprehend it.”
Not at all active in the community, nope. Many many years ago i drifted away, but I don’t think being a leftie precludes community engagement. You can be a leftie and not a communist, you know ?
I’m aware of the background with Gillard etc and our community yes. I personally vote Greens, but i’d much prefer Labor to win than Lib. Are you actually happy with Abbott?
20 years ago my dad was a rightie. Like you said, it’s what you’d expect from any hrvat. He himself had been in prison back in croatia under the communist regime and was very instrumental in getting recognition for our people here (and rallying the politicians you referred to). Both he and Mario Despoja (Natasha’s dad) were people of note for this.
But in recent years, ive seen a change even in him away from those right-wing ideas and views. The past is the past. You can’t hate ALP forever because of what happened in a different country in a different time and is unrelated.
As i say, u can be leftist and not a communist. Look at sweden, norway, etc. Are they communist countries? Are they tantamount to communist Croatia?
No. All you need is a bit fairer wealth redistribution, better public services. Not radical by any stretch and it works perfectly well in capitalist countries, ie, the northern european ones i mentioned.
Jarac,
I can drink rakija but definitely not Vodka. I guess my favourite drink is beer…but back in the days when I was young and stupid I’d drink that Stock and kola or bambus…and never woke up with a headache!
It’s obvious to me that Lovro isn’t a lion tamer. Probably more of a golfer.
@slavonac
Man o man I use to drink that shit Stock 84 like it was good back in my teens. To answer your question that use to be a popular drink, but not anymore. I’d say most popular in cro is vodka with mixer, different types of rakija, and johnny walker. This is pure anecdotal, my observation.
…and this might have been the most fucked up thread of the year.
…just read some of this shit above – Croatian Sports my ass.
“How can premarital sex hurt God when he’s constantly referred to during it?”
Aaaaand Ante B. rounds it out for quote of the year.
@Melb Cro
You are one of the few lion tamers on this site. Truly you are aquainted with ideas.
Iggy I take it you aren’t very active in the Croatian community in Brisbane?
I honestly don’t understand how an Aussie Croat can be left wing, considering what the left under communism did to our domovina. I can’t comprehend it.
You a Labor Party voter as well? The same party that for decades shit on the Croatian community.
Ideas are dangerous, but the man to whom they are least dangerous is the man of ideas. He is acquainted with ideas, and moves among them like a lion tamer. Ideas are dangerous, but the man to whom they are most dangerous is the man of no ideas. The man of no ideas will find the first idea fly to his head like wine to the head of a teetotaller.
– Gilbert Keith Chesterton
God is referred to when Mamic is counting his money as well .
Horvat,
How can premarital sex hurt God when he’s constantly referred to during it?
Using unreasonable animals as a reason why it’s natural for reasonable men to be homosexuals. I think I’ll believe the Bible, it’s against nature.
Stock kola is some good stuff! When i was a lot younger and liked drinking rum and cokes, many times Stock kola is what I had to settle for in Croatian bars.
Killing people with a gun is a lot cleaner though, you don’t get your hands dirty as you would with a knife.
All sin is harmful to ourselves and others, even if we cannot understand how.
Sex between unmarried couples (even if they are engaged to get married) is harmful to themselves, others and greatly offends God. The ultimate harm is that it could lead to eternal damnation.
The homosexuality thing reminds me a bit of how some users here talk about black people. Obviously, black skin is naturally occurring. It’s not unnatural. But clearly, many people don’t like it anyway. Why? Beats me. But there is a sizeable portion of the community that do not like blacks. I believe you can find them watching Fox News.
“@Iggy
Do you believe homosexuality is natural?”
Yes, i do. It’s found in the animal kingdom so i can’t think of anything more natural in the purest definition of that term.
“On guns, like they say, guns don’t kill people, people kill people. There’s many ways to kill people without guns, so leave the poor gun alone.”
People kill more people with guns than they do without them, though, don’t they ? You can’t kill so many people with, say, a knife, as you can a gun, let alone a high-powered assault rifle. It is bewildering given the number of gun deaths in USA compared to every other western country on the planet that such myths subsist. The gun lobby is indeed strong in that place.
Horvat, i appreciate what you are saying about the friction between desire and action and i think that aspect of what it is to be human is too often overlooked in the modern milieu. Actually, to some degree i think that is where the human soul lives, in that space.
But that being said, whether or not homosexuality is something that should be put in the same category as being drugs or stealing ? That’s a bit of a stretch, i feel. For example, it’s hard to see where the harm is in homosexual relations? What harm is actually being done there, whereas crimes like drugs/theft create a lot of harm.
I have no issue with gay marriage being allowed whatsoever. Doesn’t affect me in the slightest.
Iggy,
If my son was gay, I would love him just the same, if not more.
My heart would bleed because I know he is carrying a heavy cross.
However, I would not approve of him choosing to act on his temptation, just like any parent would not approve of their child doing drugs, committing adultery, stealing etc..
I would pray for his conversion. That he would admit his sin and turn back to God.
He would always be welcome in my home and loved by me just the same.
My parent never stopped loving me no matter what a wild ass I was.
Iggy,
I can say I have a “natural affinity” to get angry or to fornicate with a women. I can say God created me this way, therefore it must be O.K. for me to act however I feel.
God did not create the world with sin and disorder in it. He is perfect. He doesn’t make mistakes. Sin and disorder entered God’s perfect order because of the sin of our first parents.
That’s why I have a disordered desire to tell someone off when they hurt me or the disorder of looking at another women lustfully.
A person with same sex attraction has inherited the disorder (often not by choice) of being sexually attracted to a person of the same sex. God never created me with my anger or a person with same sex attraction that way.
There are many people with same sex attraction who believe everything I’m saying. They have repented and chose to live a chaste life.
Some of the saints struggled with this temptation, however, they admitted there sin and asked God for forgiveness and help.
No matter what sin we struggle with, if we admit our sin before God and repent, he will surely forgive us and even heal us of it.
If we deny our sin, whether it be a homosexual act or any other sin, God cannot forgive us and heal us because we won’t let him.
Souls go to hell because they refuse to admit and repent of their sin.
Please take the time to watch the video above.
Romans Chapter 1
[26] For this cause God delivered them up to shameful affections. For their women have changed the natural use into that use which is against nature. [27] And, in like manner, the men also, leaving the natural use of the women, have burned in their lusts one towards another, men with men working that which is filthy, and receiving in themselves the recompense which was due to their error.
@Iggy
Do you believe homosexuality is natural?
On guns, like they say, guns don’t kill people, people kill people. There’s many ways to kill people without guns, so leave the poor gun alone.
There’s a difference between choosing to listen to satanic music and having a _natural_ affinity for homosexuality though, isn’t there?
Or, Horvat, are you saying homosexuality is unnatural ? Put it this way: how would you feel/actions would you take if your child was gay?
The left can be intolerant but i’ll take that over the right any day of the week.
Example, you people must have seen the news today. A news team shot dead live on air in the U.S. Now, the right wingers will be out today, saying – let me guess, if only every citizen had their own handgun, tank, nuclear weapon, etc, he would’ve been shot dead by someone else, because we all know more guns make people more safe, hence america is such a safe place free from gun-related murders.
On this, and like on so many issues, the position of the right is simply incommensurate with commonsense. It actually beggars belief !
So basically Tonci Kukoc is a partizancina like his imenjak from da Bulls?
I have a quick question for those of you that drink and frequent Hrvatska!
do people still drink Stock 84 and kola?
Has there been any Hrvat you can remember post war to go over to a serb club sans Robi? Isn’t Delac playing in Vojvodina? I don’t think there’s a well known player.
Dear Iggy,
Years ago, I was heavily into Satanic, heavy metal music. My bedroom was plastered with all kinds of Satanic posters and images.
My mother used to tell me that this was wrong. It would never make me.
Was it hatred or intolerance that motivated her? No, it was love!
Supposedly, not true. I wouldn’t sign him for any team. Too many spots of dirty dried ink on his skin.
I read it but not sure if it’s true. Do you guys remember Hajduk’s Tonci Kukoc? Not to be confused with Toni Kukoc. Right now he plays left back for CSKA but there are talks that he wants to sign with Partizan. He’s an interesting extrovert that’s for sure.

Iggy,
I forgot to include this video clip. http://www.audacitymovie.com
Dear Iggy,
People who associate themselves with the “left” are constantly accusing Christians of “hating” people with same sex attraction.
These are nothing but lies. These people are either seriously mis informed or dishonest.
Just because the Holy Bible and the Catholic Church teach that something is wrong does not mean they hate people who commit that sin.
Every one of us has temptations to commit different kinds of sins. Having the temptation is not in itself sinful. However, choosing to act on that temptation is. Having same sex attraction is a temptation to commit a sin. It’s not a sin in itself. However a person is free to chose to act on it or not to act on it.
I may not be tempted to commit a homosexual sin, however, I have to do battle with my anger, pride and self indulgence.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church clearly says, “They (people who struggle with same sex attraction) MUST be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. EVERY sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided” – CCC 2358. This is what the Curch has always taught.
These “liberals” should learn to be more tolerant of people who don’t agree with them, including people with traditional religious beliefs and values.
Why is it O.K. For a mother to tell their child; “my child, you should not lie, you should not steal, you should not do drugs, you should not cheat on your wife, you should not sexually molest a child, etc…” However, as soon as someone says “a man should not have sex with a man and a women should not have sex with a women”, all of a sudden they are being “hateful”, “intolerant”, “unwelcoming” etc… It doesn’t make any sense, does it.
Please don’t be offended by what I wrote. I’m simply trying to explain why the “left” is either mis informed or dishonest.
I always like to say, “these liberals are tolerant of everyone, AS LONG AS YOU DON’T DISAGREE WITH THEM”. They are fiercely persecuting God’s people and His Church.

May God, who loves you, bless you!
Now these migrants invading Europe will they be given voting rights after a while? Who will they vote for the leftist scum who will offer them more welfare and victim status.
Millions of illiterate, superstitious, low skill, and bigoted Muslims invading one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
Lefties are the real kunts, socialism and communism both come from the left. The biggest killers were all big government statists with extreme left wing ideoligies (Stalin,Mao, Pol Pot). From my experience the lefties are just losers that want to steal money from the “evil” rich because they don’t have the skills to earn it themselves.
@ FOSTER LOL THE GHETTOTIZATION OF EUROPE HAS BEGUN. WHITES ARE LEAVING LONDON, BERLIN AND MALMO. LONDON WILL LOOK LIKE NEWARK NEW JERSEY HOPELESS DUMP.
Admittedly that might’ve been a bit too far, heheh
as for me tho, yep, very definitely left-wing feminist
so obviously in the majority here
ROLFFF
@ Iggy
Right wingers are cunts? wtf? so what are you, a lefty?
@ Ante B
no I haven’t mate
I did always wonder though about the selective appreciation for religiosity from right wingers.
Like when the pope recently wrote his article about climate change, and all the right wing commentators were saying he should stay out of it.
Just think about that, the leader of the catholic church, the infallible pope, and right-wingers telling him to stay out of “politics” !!!!
Not that it’s a political issue anyway, it’s a human rights issue and nothing could be more proper than the pope commenting on it, but that’s beside the point. The point is it’s funny how right-wingers are only religious when it involves gay-bashing and the like, not when it’s about helping humanity or helping the poor.
Fuck me right-wingers are cunts.
Well said Melb Cro.
Let go of your soccer balls, somebody get on these morons and tell them to get it right, its not serbian, its croatian, more idiots falling for lies. You don’t have to get into all the details about Croatian Latin script and literary and civilizational history vis a vis serb orthodox cyrillic history or how they discarded their serb church blessed 49 cyrillic letter mishmash russian slavoserb alphabet in the early 19th century to follow Croatian and western literary history and orthography progression, like Polish Czech etc, or that their alphabet and language never included an H sound and cyrillic letter for it. Basically tell them that Google, Android and Apple don’t have it wrong, they do.

MelbCro,
Just curious. Have you ever been to the U.S.?
American conservatives are not real conservatives. They have a warped version that has very little to do with actual political conservatism. And the same goes for American Liberalism. Yank culture corrupts everything.
So why do conservatives love one and hate the other? Jesus is God, Bernie dosen’t believe in God.
Further to my comment in another thread, since we’re all Catholics of the ZDS lifestyle here, i take it i can trust all of you yanks to have fingers crossed for Bernie???

🙂
Ziva, he’s allowed to exist right? Remember when Donald Sterling made racist comments, the league acted quickly and swiftly and he’s now gone while on the other hand Mamic has done far worse and still exists.
This is why I said several months ago that this system in Croatia allows him to do as he wishes, it’s their mentality!
I’m totally happy to get rid of a criminal and for the record, I’d like them to prove it and announce it in the press! If they don’t…who’s at fault for allowing the circus to continue?
Mamic : Croatia :: Trump : America
Anti Mamic crap??????? Umm, most of us who speak the facts about Mamic are not making anything up about Mamic. The Males trial showed some of the shit he is/was doing in Cro soccer circles. The Da Silva court case showed the lengths he will go to intimidate players to get what he wants. His various outburts all over youtube. He speaks highly off life under communism. Am I missing anything???????? the funny thing is, if Mamic was anything other than a hrvat, you people would be crying what a scumbag he is, but you turn a blind eye to Croatian scum. Why???? I’m not sure. Maybe you are impressed by croatian personalities like the way Americans are impressed by celebrities. No clue.
Again, show me anything that I have been inaccurate about him.
Sometimes I wonder if some of you actually follow the news in Cro. Then, I am reminded that a majority of this site is diaspora hrvati from the US and everyone knows the lack of understanding the Croatian language by the diaspora hrvati in the US. So, that does explain a lot.
Fuck, Malmö has a nice little stadium. It’s a simple stadia design but it looks good.
Wish something like that could be constructed in Croatia.
Foster you’re looking at immigration like a mutt.
@Slavonac from Canada
Like you it so amusing on this site the anti Mamic crap you see. If you question anything about it a bunch on here get so defensive. Too funny. They need to direct the energy at the incompetence of some of these other teams.
Good win today for them.
@slavonac
My first cousin was at the game and I watched it on televison.
This is a great victory for the future, multicultural Croatia. Racist white catholic croats will look at this victory, and see that all goals were scored by foreigners, but younger open minded Croats will see the benefits that foreigners can bring, and will continue to support African and Middle eastern immigration into Croatia.
I recall one year seeing Dinamo get a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford in the CL proper, heh. They totally dominated and should’ve smashed us but Ladic was in a purple patch that day !
I don’t know what’s worse. Always hearing how bad the league is or accepting the lowest form of mediocrity as the norm. Either way, they both are not original.
Ziva – bottom line is that the Croatian league has more coefficient points than leagues from Austria, Poland, Sweden, Bulgaria and would pass Romania to get the 2nd team.
The Croatian league may do nothing yet do better than countries with either much greater populations (Poland) or have more money (Sweden – Austria … I am sure they actually pay their players).
All I am saying is we talk about how shitty the Croatian league is yet imagine how fucked up leagues are in Serbia, Scotland, Sweden, etc. that the shitty Croatian league accumulates more points than them.
Anyone hoping for Madrid-Dinamo this year?
@MB13…………the teams do better in Europe than other leagues with more money and resource??????
What have Croatian teams DONE in Europe other than qulaify. Don’t get me wrong, qualifiying is a big deal for the CL and if hajduk can get into the Europa League, that would also be a big deadl. But, what have they done once actually in Champions League proper and Europa League proper?
Answer………….nothing.
Only reason they will get a second spot is because of the current bastardized format. You have to be a very shitty league not to have at least two spots.
Ante B –
“And to think there was a long period in my life where I would not sleep for a Dinamo game, start drinking at 7am”
That sounds like my ritual every time the NT plays, altho admittedly the drinking at that time is kinda cos the games are generally on at 5 am anyways
KAN…were you there?
look at this list and see the seedings:
http://www.footballseeding.com/european-cups/champions-league-seeding-15-16/
Dinamo is the 4th lowest seeded team in this Champions League Group Stage…this should tell us a little of just how much better most of these other teams are.
On a separate but related matter.
Croatia very possibly – even likely – will get a 2nd Champs League team in near future (2 or 3 years) if they keep up this form.
For all the talk of how poor a league it is, the teams do better in Europe than other leagues with more money and resources.
@slavonac
Great atmosphere at the game. Fans were cheering and singing. Just the way it should be. Amazing accomplishment to go to CL.
you’re probably right!
I’m sure the remaining 25,000 empty seats told the larger story.
here’s a question:
so there were apparently 15,000 fans at the game in Maksimir…are they fans of Dinamo or do they count how many players born in Croatia started the game today?
hahahaha….well I’m sure it was worth the money…just being there a day is worth it.
Both. Sometimes I’d drop a grand to fly over there last second. I think there were 22 guys on the field of grass with a puck.
did you ever watch the games or were you just drinking and celebrating the goals?
And to think there was a long period in my life where I would not sleep for a Dinamo game, start drinking at 7am, born again with every goal and die with every loss.
Oh, agreed. Valencia is legit. Any La Liga team that finishes in the top 5 or 6 is very legit.
Valencia is a decent team Ziva…
I guess I was trying to be subtle but sarcastic. Malmo isn’t some powerhouse and they are currently in the drivers seat (although its not over yet and hopefully Celtic come back) while Celtic has far more fans and sponsorship dollars, surely they should be better…according to many here.
Shakhtar should easily beat Rapid and are struggling, Basel should beat Maccabi and are currently tied…
this is what I mean…Dinamo is a minnow amongst some pretty good other minnows…we sometimes don’t see that and expect far more than we really should. for Dinamo to qualify is like winning something…thats the truth!
Bravo Dinamo. Samo naprid.
The poision of Communism runs deep. Never a more failing ism ever.
Kind of feel bad for the Celtic fans. They create one of the best soccer atmosphere up there.
Looks like Monaco and Serb Subasic will be without CL this year. Too bad, because you would prefer our starting national team keeper was facing CL competition.
oh myyy…Malmo is beating Celtic 2-0 and are now ahead in the aggregate…that sucks!
imagine what their fans are thinking right now?
Oops, 2nd yellow for Santos and Dinamo scores minutes later to virtually lock up a spot in the Champions League.
its not only Communist countries…Latin America is the exact same, if not…worse!
I agree with you Sude Mi but some people think they’ll change Croatia, one day at a time. the entire culture is like that, which is why I know Mamic is a problem but there are 50 more waiting to replace him!
Agree 10000000% with the above.
No such thing as a professional courtesy in Croatia. I honestly don’t think they even know what that term means.
@ Slavonac
its not just in soccer Sude Mi, its all around Croatia!
Agree with you 100%….the sad part is that the typical response from homegrown Hrvati to dijaspora Hrvati is to resent the interference, become suspicious of the motives, etc.
Example
I have a dijaspora friend who works for a major North American airline that is in the Star Alliance. He got a call because of his ties, from a prominent Senior Manager at Croatia Airlines, asking if he could assist in arranging a meeting. He indicated he would make the call and try to set up the call. He managed to get his airline to call them back almost immediately. Croatia Airlines were dumbfounded. This senior manager called my friend back and profusely thanked, but then asked the question….what’s in it for you. My friend was shocked. He told him he just wanted to see businesses in Croatia prosper. The senior manager from CA didn’t get it, but hung up thankfully.
The next day, this guy called my buddy back again, trying to figure out what his angle was and what he would be getting. By this time my friend was really annoyed and told him so.
They just don’t get it….everything is sverzanje, big or small it is all about under the table, no ethics, screw the next guy with little regard for the consequences or your reputation….too much Communist influence for too damned long….it will take GENERATIONS! Generations….
Sude Mi,
Dinamo’s terrible record amongst some of the best teams in Europe is expected…and thats the truth here! If you think they should be better, they could be better as far as allowing less goals but they are nowhere near the level of the majority of the teams that qualify for the group stage.
“I have some ideas, but clearly Croatian football in general has neither the will, resolve, progressive thinking, nor character to change appropriately.”
its not just in soccer Sude Mi, its all around Croatia!
I’m back….
Yes, just trying to light a spark as it is so easy to piss off all the Dinamovci on this site…
My personal view is that I’m truly indifferent as to whether they qualify or not, given their recent history of completely shitting the bed in the group stages, truly embaressing all the way around.
That is what is wrong with world football today, qualify through the back door (and I agree with Ziva, if UEFA actually wanted the best clubs the qualifying mechanism would be corrected to achieve this) to a competition that pays all kinds of cash that eventually gets flushed down the toilet through illicit channels, and for that you get embaressed for the privilege. Imagine for a moment if in fact everyone knew (as Slavonac correctly suggests through transparency) that every last dollar of these earnings went back into developing more top Croatian footballers.
My personal allegiances are of course to all Croatian footballers, but know the club teams are completely out-manned outside of the third tier leagues in Europe. Rectifying this is another massive discussion….I have some ideas, but clearly Croatian football in general has neither the will, resolve, progressive thinking, nor character to change appropriately.
there’s no way thats a yellow card on Pivaric
ufffff…
nice cross…good finish!
my mistake….something interesting is that Dinamo’s average attendance in 2013 -2014 averaged 3,929…why was it up that year?
http://www.worldfootball.net/attendance/cro-1-hnl-2013-2014/1/
Taking the last ten years into account, average attendance figures for Dinamo were at around the 5,000 mark and Hajduk at 7,500. The highest for Dinamo was in 2006 at around 11,000 and Hajduk peaked last year at around 9,800.
jure….at first I didn’t care to know the politics of the game, I was then introduced to the several speculations and truths about Mamic…and then just anything and everything that happened was Mamic’s fault…thats where I stopped really caring…it became a Mamic pandemonium and no matter what happened in Croatian soccer, it was Mamic’s fault…this is where I have issues.
the people of ZG have obviously spoken and for reasons that I am not 100% fully aware of, they don’t attend (although Dinamo never really had tons of fans…I think they used to average 3000 in their glory days).
I’d just like to see all the finger pointing and blaming to go away…so for that to happen, Mamic needs to go. my only concern will be what crook is next in line….Hajduk’s uprava have been imcompetent (I mention them because they’re the next biggest team, Rijeka has made positive strides and are a minnow…the rest of the teams aren’t even worth mentioning on the European stage.
@Slavonac……..The croatian soccer hierarchy is lined with Mamic people. He could get convicted of some sort of tax evasion and my bet is that he will stay be in power. Be it a 1 -month suspended jail term or 2 years behind bars, he will still lead dinamo and make the decisions within the savez.
@jure…..good for you. You like Mamic. That is fine. People liek him are the reason the country is stuck in neutral.
Sude Mi,
+\- 4?
any og you Yanks get offended by this:
Francois Carrard, the man charged with reforming FIFA, believes football in the U.S. is “just an ethnic sport,” something for “girls to play in schools.”
This is what most of the world thinks and although the US has the attendance at games and has started building a decent infrastructure for the sport…I think this guy is talking about the difference in the “culture” of the sport vs the actual sport itself.
Americans are a bit pissed at him and say “someone who doesn’t understand the weight of his words “…I think he’s right, without the Latino’s in the US soccer would have little to no meaning…actually, most Americans don’t respect the sport already…without Latino’s there is no soccer in the US, you wouldn’t have an audience.
@Slavonac
you deal with too much stupidity on this site, I am waiting for people to blame Mamic for ISIS
I hope and pray they make it today and in fact I know quite a few who will be watching the game today.
I don’t think you’re wrong, I agree with you and thats why I want them to find him guilty of something so they can remove him from the sport…I’m all for it.
the thing is, Dinamo would never get to this stage without foreign players and for the sake of the club…I still want them to qualify.
Now…if Dinamo make it an within the next year or so we end up seeing Mamic getting convicted of tax evasion or some other fraud, I hope they end up recovering money he stole, remove Zoran from behind the bench and get a fresh start.
once they have a new start and the team does have money…they will still have to learn how to compete, buy and sell players and try to maintain their record (albeit shitty) of qualifying for Champions league. the strategy has to be the same but the difference should be that the clubs financials are more transparent and no more shady deals going on.
I think the fans have clearly displayed their frustrations and I know that nobody until now has really challenged Mamic. if they don’t do something real soon, this can end up being a looooong nightmare!
I think the general public doesn’t connect with Mamic…and everything he does will be wrong until he’s gone…I’m good with that, as long as the team stays competitive.
@Slavonac…………..well, that is the response you get from a lot of Europski dinamo fans as a result of what Mamic has done to the club. He sells players where the club makes money and where he makes money, makes it into the CL every few years, but the average dinamo fan doesn’t connect with the club. It just doesn’t. We’ve seen dinamo players go out to elementary schools and give away free tickets, we have watched dinamo give away 2-for-1 tickets, beer specials, and more in an effort to draw people to the stadium. The general public doesn’t connect with this dinamo.
I’m not picking a fight here. I have no emotional attachment either way to dinamo, the club. Now, I hate Mamic and I think he is the root of everything that is bad in Croatian soccer from picking Strucnjak Stimac, Kum Kovac, to allowing a sick man with dementia to continue as savez president, to host of other hot button issues. I honestly think that a good number of dinamo fans, possibly a majority would prefer to have a weaker dinamo if it meant no Mamic. And i don’t think this is a cro vs number of foreigners playing issue. Dinamo could have 11 hrvati in the lineup today and the fans in ZG would still be indifferent to their success in the CL.
Sude Mi…is that an attempt to be funny or just silly, I’ll refrain from calling you a worse name.
this game is probably the most expensive game Dinamo will have for at least one year…its worth approximately $12 million if they win or draw…and you’re cracking jokes about how many Hrvati will see the field today?
What’s the over/under on how many Croatians see the field in the game tonight?
well done so far, hopefully they progess to CL play
Go Team !
