How frustrating has Dinamo been this season? It has seriously infuriated me. Not just the results of their matches, but everything from tactics to starters.
Dinamo is the new Hajduk. They are! They play old bums I simply don’t want to watch anymore.
Here is the simplest solution: just play Marko Bulat and Martin Baturina. Simple as that!
Since losing Joško Gvardiol and Lovro Majer in the summer, Dinamo has:
1. looked weak in Champions League qualifying and are struggling for easy points in HNL (drew Lokomotiva 0-0 this past weekend)
2. an insane amount of dead wood on the team (too many players that are below average and getting thrown around in strange positions)
3. no consistent, functional or sensible formation
4. misused (not used at all) their youth players. Forcing guys who are 18-22 to just ride the pine and occasionally see five minutes at the end of the match is not okay in my book
This is all classic Hajduk stuff, but now we’re seeing it in Zagreb.
(rant over)
We have almost entire year to assemble our team, comes down to all hands on deck and best available players in form. Shout out to our Ukrainian bothers and sisters who our suffering, very reminiscent of break up YU, Ukrainian army well equipped but can’t handle Russian Chetniks
Also, Dinamo has like 5 starters unable to play against Sevilla today so we need a miracle to win at this point.
This reminds me of the trouble Dinamo had in the early 2010s. Youngsters riding the pine is nothing new for Dinamo.
The real issue is that Dinamo sold a lot of their top talent in the last few years and haven’t had time to introduce their new youngsters early enough for them to be ready.
So to close up on the topic of the other thread, it would be very unwise for Croatia to support Croatian areas of Bosnia going independent and joining Croatia proper. The last thing Croatia needs is a chechnya or syria or iraq on its doorsteps where enthusiastic Islamic extremists would flock to and then suddenly Croatia has to worry about suicide bombers in the kafic or beach
I read that we pulled troops a little while ago from Poland or wherever they were stationed
I’m assuming if it really goes off now In Ukraine somehow we may get involved if other nato countries step in?
What a shit show
Someone needs to off putin before he starts nuking
Apparently vrsaljko Almost scored
Too bad, would have been huge for him
Šime played petty well. He showed lots of intensity, did well defensively, and made a few good crosses. He also made a few bad passes, and really should have scored. He charged in for a free header, only a few yards from goal, and completely miss hit it. He just had to direct it straight to goal, instead it hit the side of his head, went sideways, and bounced off the defender. It was hard to believe that the ball didn’t go in. Overall, he looks good, but still a bit rusty.
How did vrsaljko do?
To think we could have an in form vrsaljko juranovic and stanisic potentially on the right side
Not too shabby
Left side is not too bad as well
Healthy competition will only help the development of the players and the league
Not only that people will be more interested and go to watch games rather then a month into the season it’s already wrapped up with Dinamo winning
Talent comes from all over Croatia and seriously how bloody spoiled are we to make above average and sometimes world class guys
Lets hope for more Development for the league and in then the repka train can keep chugging along
But still, can we have a keeper step up!!!
With no Bandic and Mamic as bosses of zagreb Dinamo has taken a huge hit and Maksimir atmosphere is like going to a funeral boze oprosti. Osijek has awaken Rijeka is cometative.
Hajduk split finally got it right with whos running the show once the street stopped ruling and the mafia they are contenders mix of youth and older players. Also Var has been terrible in the hnl but it sure gave hajduk some deserved penalties which in other seasons whould never have happened.
Dinamo never should have got rid of bjelica. Osijeks best player is bjelica thats why osijek is in title run
Great for hnl to have watchable football hns needs to invest some money some nicer stadiums 5000 seaters.
Destroy maksimir that place is a moselium
To think zoran mamic thought he could do a better job than nenad bjelica
Dillusional stuff really
Great rant. Evidently, there are a lot of problems that Dinamo must face to regain their dominance
Here’s my take on the issue:
The Prva Liga is growing, and is currently at its highest point. Istra, Lokomotiva, Šibenik, Hajduk, and Osijek are fielding some of their best squads in the past decade. Yes of course, Dinamo’s squad is nowhere near where it was last season (no Gvardiol and Majer, while Ivanušec and Petković are severely out of form), but their league competition is not so easy anymore. Man for man, even Hajduk is catching up to Dinamo, not to mention that Livaja is by far the best in the league.
I am a Dinamo supporter, no doubt about it. But this entertaining, looming competition in the league interests me – and even excites me. Putting Croatian football as a whole above Dinamo, this is exactly what the HNS needs. Young talents performing extremely well outside of Dinamo, veterans coming back to Croatia, etc…it’s all great news for the HNS.
And I’m not worried yet. We’re still winning league this year 😉
Nice to see Vrsaljko getting the start today against man utd playing on the wing but in the mid 3-5-2 depending how he presses back or forward but nice to also see grease man douchebag on bench with Suarez – see how sime does
It’s kind of insulting to hear you say that about another club, you have to keep in mind all the stuff that Mamic did to undermine the other clubs (especially Hajduk) while he was in control of Dinamo. Not to mention he has publicly stated that he had an issue and made it his agenda to keep Hajduk from succeeding and basically saying he do anything possible to keep them from winning or being on top. The politics over there is partially the problem, but maybe what’s happening to Dinamo now is proof of this, not every club can stay on top forever, and if they do that speaks to problems and the value of the league overall. Namely, that the club’s maybe undermined and not given the opportunity to showcase themselves, and just to point Hajduk has won the last match with Dinamo so I would careful choosing such words.
Think of it this way, how would Croatia as a team succeed overall if only one club wins consistently? You have a crop of players from Zagreb, from Spilt, from Osijek and Rijeka etc. You cannot afford to ignore the talent from other regions.
I have heard people on this site speak BS and say that it’s because of Dinamo that Croatia got so far on 2018 but this is just arrogant BS that people feed themselves. Suba is from Split, Perisic is also a southerner, Pasalic who very nearly got us back in the game with Spain is also a Southerner po rijeklon.
To argue talent is only from one region is not only wrong but ultimately stupid. So this article is both insulting and not worth reading.
Sorry just to correct Suba is from Zadar but that’s still Dalmacija.
Dinamo have enough home grown talent, with a world class academy. They have lots of money, compared to other HNL teams. I think their biggest problem is coaching. I firmly believe they would have had some success in the champions league if they were lead by Bjelica.
Marin Ljubicic has only 2 goals and 2 assists in 21 games. But we have to keep in mind that he is only 19 and that Roko Simic not long ago for Lokomotiva had like 4 goals in 25 games until he moved to Salzburg and look what happened to him.
I don’t get why Hajduk won’t trust players like these as they are more long term than a washed up Nikola Kalinic.
Have to make a rule to only play guys under 25
Or can only have like two guys over 25 on at once;)
I saw kovacic got injured… anyone know if it’s bad?
At least with that rule, we would be getting something out of the big teams in the Cro league lol
here it goes again, Hajduk, dinamo rijeka and osijek want points and are trying to win games. The best players (the coaches choice) are going to play. I feel like a lot of people are looking at from the interest of the NT, cuz i always see comments under the hnl posts about why some high schooler isnt playing more mins etc.
Better off having a slumping year or two and build up the quality youth they surely have
But seriously what a loss
Gvardiol one of the best bundesliga defenders and Majer one of the best mids in France
But surely there are a couple young diamonds as mentioned that should be playing
