Bayern Munich II’s 17 year-old Croatian Gabriel Vidović is on fire! Vidović scored a brilliant goal Tuesday night for Bayern II in a 1-1 draw against Bayreuth. The teenage attacking midfielder now has nine goals and seven assists in 15 matches for his side. According to Kicker, a popular German media outlet, Vidović has impressed Bayern Munich’s staff with his performances this season, hinting at a call-up to the club’s senior team in the near future. Vidović could become the second Croatian to appear for Bayern Munich’s first team this season after performing well for the feeder club, following in the footsteps of 21 year-old defender Josip Stanišić. Bayern supporters around the world are pleased with Vidović’s form for Bayern Munich II and hope to see him playing alongside Bayern greats Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, and Serge Gnabry in the attack this season.
Vidović has appeared twice for the Croatia U-21 squad. Although he is goalless in both appearances, Vidović has scored twice for Croatian youth teams: U-17 and U-19. Vidović is known for his tight ball control in the final third and sharp finishing abilities. As Luka Sučić begins to play for the Croatian senior side, expect Vidović to appear more for the U-21 squad. Keep him on your radar!
What’s the average age on Red Bull? 19? What a great young, hungry team. This is the first Salzburg game that I watched fully, and the energy and talent is pretty impressive. I really like our players coming through this system.
Yea, RB Leipzig is the same way.
Great development system that our Austrian Croat creates there.
Šimić got very little time.
Had only a couple of real touches. One where he had his back on goal and could’ve done better with it, and another cross that he sent in (but it wasn’t really close to anyone).
Verdict: BUST!!!
No just kidding. Need a bigger sample, but glad he got a few minutes of Champions League football.
Red Bull are definitely committed to developing their players.
BTW, Sučić looks very good. Plays very confident.
I forget that he’s barely a year older than Šimić.
Sučić is a huge prospect for us.
Why is rakitic not even getting sub mins ?
any sense how Grbic is doing? 10 shots for Sevilla si far, 5 shots on goal. 0 goals allowed so far.
Ivo Grbić, 4 – Should have been punished with a goal after an awful first half pass out straight to Rafa Mir, his flying save from Ocampos made up for it a little.
4/10?? That’s a disgraceful rating, wtf. He literally saved Lille and was POTM no doubt. 6 saves.
All of Lille’s ratings were either 4, 5 or 6. Must be a tough rater🤣
Way too harsh.
Sevilla outplayed Lille, and Lille came away with a 0-0 draw.
Weird to give a low rating to Grbic for that, lol.
Pasalic should be our CAM and brozo and Modric behind him. And kovacic for Modric after 60 mins. Enough with Vlasic and enough with Modric kova and brozo playing g together. We need a proper team not just playing players based in names
Well we started Pašalić against Slovakia (with Modrić and Brozović) and Pašalić did nothing (other than leaving his man unmarked for a goal).
He’s a solid piece, but he’s not a starter for us.
He’s better off the bench.
Lol, I guess everyone should be benched based on your assumption. We didn’t win so there fore go to the bench.
Should the whole starting 11 against Slovenia that lost be benched cause we lost?
How about against Slovenia at home ? pasalic scored one and basically scored the other. Pretty much man of match. How about against Spain at euro? His overall production for how many minutes he’s plays is pretty good.
As long as Modric is not retired it’s unfortunate but kovacic shouldn’t start it doesn’t gel the trio of brozo kova and Modric. It just doesn’t work. And Vlasic well there’s been a lot of games he’s started and sucked.
People say well Vlasic scores the odd goal true. But with fewer minutes pasalic has show. That as well if not potential for more so I dont get it. Last week for west ham Vlasic was planted in the bench where he will most likely stay there.
Pasalic doesn’t defend.
Against Spain at the Euros, we were down two goals and had nothing to lose.
Orsic, Budimir and Pasalic were thrown in and we went all-in on trying to tie the game.
It worked great, but it was the equivalent of pulling the goalie in hockey.
You need a complete midfielder for the 90 minutes.
Pasalic is a proven good backup, who is great without the ball and getting into position. But he’s not great at defending, and it cost us in that Slovakia game.
I like him as a sub, but not as a starter. Sure, maybe the odd starter here and there (like against Slovenia) but not someone I would assume could handle the full time starting role.
Atalanta uses him as a backup (with the odd start). Not sure why that would make him an automatic starter with us (when we are better than Atalanta).
Use him the same way Atalanta uses him.
Gol Pasalic !
Pasalic just scored against Man Utd. He knows how to score in the box
Simic looked alright in what little involvement he got. Had a chance to possibly get an assist but snatched at a chance at the edge of the box and couldn’t get much power on it. The guy who was wide open to his right was not happy about it, but what can you say. He’s a young striker making his debut in the Champions League with his team already up by 2 goals, of course he’s going to want to try to score. We’ll see if he gets a chance over the weekend. I hope he does. If he happens to get on and play well Dalic might have to at least consider calling him up if he hasn’t already.
Speaking of call ups. The squad for the October matches was announced on Monday, September 20th, so I would assume the squad for November will be announced in the next week or so.
I’m still hoping Rebic gets on the squad if he’s healthy. It looks like his injury isn’t too serious. I know it’s probably up to him to apologize but we need his pressing against Russia’s bunker.
Juranovic could be back this weekend for Celtic so he should be ready.
I’d like to see Sucic start against Malta. He looked pretty decent today and was always looking to make things happen. Have a feeling they will just let him play with the U21s though.
I think Budimir is still hurt, but I’m not sure how badly. I’d still be interested to see a tall striker with Sosa and Juranovic swinging in crosses.
While Petkovic has been playing decently as of late, he will miss out because he is playing a deeper role now and not as a striker.
I also have a feeling we will see Vida and Lovren start against Russia. Hopefully Gvardiol plays as the left center back. After the last two games that should be his spot to lose.
Overall, I’m confident we will get the results we need next month. We just need to take care of business in Malta and then hit the Russians hard from the first whistle in Split. Prediction: Kramaric to score at least once in that game. 3-0 to us.
Yeah I thought Simic did relatively well for the 9 minutes he played. I do recall the situation at the top of the box. He 100% should have layed it off to his right and didn’t. he then decided to shoot but the defender committed and went down, Simic had time to go around two step and really have a good chance but he panicked and shot!
Jebiga…in 9 minutes he managed to get involved 3 different times and he was pressing the defenders.
Yeah, he definitely should’ve made the pass there but you gotta understand that as a young striker making his UCL debut like him, he’s gonna want to try and bury it. No hard feelings. Still, he was involved many times in just 8 minutes of play which is a good sign.
Sucic had a good game. Simic played 8 minutes and debuted nice to see keep it up looks like this 2000 to 2003 generation very talented
Sucic on the right and Roko on the bench today. Think I have a new favourite team!
hurry cap him quick!
Silky.
Simic and Vidovic vs Russia please!
LOL i mean it WOULD be funny. A 17 and 18 year old, both debutantes, to lead the line in the most crucial game we have played in some time. Any other toddlers we can put in other positions? Maybe Sucic can replace Modric also? 😉
Amazing talent.
Is there chance of those greasy Germans going for him??
Let’s just play all the German/Austrian league guys we have going;)
The future is bright
I know not all of them will work out
But we can’t honestly say our youth looks worse then 08ish era
Hence why we didn’t make the WC in 2010. Our 08 squad was young and had a good mix of Modric, Rakitic and Corluka. The 2000-2002/2010-2014 era was the worst for our team.
The 1999-2005 era (with Jozic and Baric) was bad because it was the post-war period and we had no teens playing on football fields during the early 90s.
The 2010-2014 period was only bad due to poor coaching and injuries. the talent was definitely there.
WC2010 was missed because of injuries to key players and poor preparation by Bilic in a few critical games.
Euro2012 performance was good, but we were unlucky with the being in the Group of Dealth along with some very questionable referee decisions (as well as the poor first half lineup against Italy).
WC2014 was poor coaching by Kovac, and poor lineup (and goalkeeping) selection.
We had prime Modric, Perisic, Mandzo and Rakitic in that group (and it was an overrated group with Brazil being overhyped).
Terrible wasted opportunity.
But in terms of talent, everything after 2005 has been very, very good.
It was just that 5-6 year postwar period.
We just need to fix the coaching talent issue. 😉
Perfectly put svaka cast. Basically all on point. 1999 to 2005 was just lack of pure talent and systems in hns.
What bothered me most was 2012 to 2016 we had good team but idiot coachs and mamic forcing his untalented players to managers.
He’s already part of our youth setup.
I forgot the details of the UEFA rule, but he may be tied to us now and ineligible for Germany.
Is it not senior caps that determine it still?
Anyone know the new rules?
Rumour has many big boys looking at acquiring simic
Aresenal/Tottenham/real
I sure hope he can roll with the pressure
I don’t think he’s locked to us, and there’s certainly a chance the Germans take a good look at him. I may be wrong, but I believe having read somewhere that he’s choosing Croatia no matter what (kind of like Sucic).
1. – its not senior caps only. There are some nuances, Sosa was locked to us because he played in an U21 qualifier for Cro when he was a little older.
2. – Wasn’t Simic born in Milan? It would be Italy that could potentially try to get him from us, not Germany, right? Italy usually doesn’t have much interest trying to get non-Italians to play for them (with a few exceptions)
Oh. Thread was about Vidovic, not Simic. My bad.
