Niko Iličević, Filip Pavić, Marko Soldić, David Balukčić, and Gabriel Minutillo, all of Croatian descent, have been invited to Germany’s U-15 national team. Some of them have already played for Croatia at the youth level, but their futures remain uncertain.
One of the standout names is Niko Iličević (14), an attacking talent from Eintracht Frankfurt. Despite being just 14, he’s already playing three years up with the club’s U-17 team and is considered one of the best players on his team and in the nation. He’s also the nephew of Ivo Iličević, a former Croatian international who chose to represent Croatia over Germany.
Filip Pavić (14), a Bayern Munich player, is a talented center-back and defensive midfielder who has already been called up by Croatia’s U-15 national team for friendlies last year, but now Germany has extended an invitation.
Marko Soldić (14), a Nürnberg player, is a versatile midfielder who can play multiple roles across the midfield and attack.
David Balukčić (14) from Stuttgart and Gabriel Minutillo (14) from Bayer Leverkusen have also been called up. Minutillo, whose mother is Croatian, has even been invited to Italy’s U- 15 national team, making his international future even more up in the air.
Beyond the German-based talents, Croatian prospects are emerging all over the world. One name that stands out is William Cvek, an Australian-born Croatian developing in Barcelona’s La Masia academy. He wears the number 10, a number reserved for top talents, showing just how highly rated he is.
Recognizing this growing pool of talent abroad, HNS recently appointed Zoran Vulić as a scout for diaspora players. While it’s a step in the right direction, there’s still a lot left to be done. Despite their talent, many Croatian players abroad haven’t even been contacted by HNS, let alone considered for a call-up. This includes Leon Babić (15) from St. Gallen (Switzerland), Ivan Scander (15) from Marseille (France), Marin Babaja (16) from FC Zürich (Switzerland) and many more.
With so many Croatian players developing abroad, HNS needs to step up. While domestic talent will always be important, they can’t afford to ignore the diaspora. If they don’t start prioritizing these players, it’s only a matter of time before more Croatians start choosing to represent other countries.

Mudrazija
Another brace / another day at the office for him
The skill at 12:20 was incredible as he flew into the box to earn the penalty
Wow – just wow
Could have had 4 goals today and a couple of assists
Single-handedly carrying the team on which shoulders
Should be called up ahead of Baturina, Vlasic, Ivanusec, Majer (insured anyway), Orsic, maybe even Pjaca
Hopefully Loko in the HNL is not too low-brow for Dalic and his high-end taste like Cyprus and Greek leagues, lol
Stanisic has recovered from his tummy ache
He last 14 minutes today
I watched the second half of Fiorentina v Lecce. Pongračić looked good. He seemed composed and solid on defense, and what he offers in attack is special. If he can become a consistently reliable defender, he can become great. He’s significantly faster than most CBs and has excellent foot skills, more like a midfielder. Fiorentina lost their dominance the minute he was subbed off, which also says something.
Ante Rebić came off the bench for Lecce and did what Ante Rebić does. He is still fast and very strong, but his touch is very poor. Even if he were to apologize to Dalić, he wouldn’t be called up to the repka, especially with Perišić and Pjaca back in form and Oršić apparently getting back to form too. However, Rebić did set teammates up for two chances that both got blown. Rebić opened up a counterattack that should have ended in the tying goal.
Mudrazija w a brace
Dalic you watching ?
Anonymous repeats
Him and Toni Fruk – are head and shoulders above Baturina
Baturina doesn’t deserve to be called up based on form – he’s anyway busy walking his dog for pee pee
Keep in mind Mudrazija is surrounded by nobodies – he single handed drives the team and puts it on his back
Also they deserve a call up ahead of Vlasic (57 caps lol), Ivanusec, Orsic, Majer (injured anyway) and maybe even Pjaca
Speaking of sucic, great to hear his tweak wasn’t so bad
He is the future
Not sure how credible
https://www.footboom1.com/en/news/football/2395183-guardiola-targets-real-sociedad-star-luka-sucic
But looks like pep caught himself a case of Croatianitis
Would be great if kova and sucic played together regularly then would be amazing for us
Haha I was born with that condition lol
He won Real Sociedad player of the month again
Sucic will be replacing Kova in the squad
They won’t play together
Ilkay, KDB, Grealish, Kova, etc will all move in this summer – Pep has said he wants to keep refreshing with youth
While Vuskovic and Frigan probably still won’t be there
Great news re Belgium league – from 2026-2027 they will go to a “normal” format and get rid of the silly three “play-off” formats they do now

“Hey! Germans
Leave our kids alone!”
Gvardiol has played 5,517′ in LTM
That ranks 2nd highest of ALL U25 outfield players – Saliba is 1st
So much for load management…

Once again Fruk shines
Baturina walking his dog on the pitch
Dalic should call up Fruk for March and Baturina should stay at home – he honestly doesn’t deserve to grace the NT if he can’t dominate HNL calibre opponents – I mean ever single match but let’s start w one match
Sucic recovered and in starting lineup for Real Sociedad in their Copa del Rey game versus Real Madrid. Modric starts on bench. (Real reportedly missing Mbappe/Valverde/Courtois.)
Let’s thank luka as surely he is only helping to woo and potential kids with his play
He needs to Pay a visit to these kids.
You know funny enough. I bet he would
2:30 ET today
Gvardiol & Kova vs. those Tottenham degenerates
Hopefully Man City destroyed those bums !
I think its time for the HNS to hire “CroatiaU14” as a talent scout.
Thanks for the report…very interesting stuff.
What? No callup for Said Aalim Brkic?!?
Seems to be some confusion on Tik Tok whether Luka and Said Brkic are related or not – as they are both at Frankfurt and U13

These kids are 14, what are the chances we hear their names again?
You will hear Niko, Gabriel, Marko name a lot in the future.
Exactly
This is a great article (and @crotalentscout2 on X is a GREAT follow – as he has unique insight / perspective on the pipeline that Anonymous hasn’t seen elsewhere)
But realistically if 1 or 2 of these players every get to first team football at these clubs – that will be a win – never mind under up getting called up for the senior NT – and becoming regulars
These players are all 2010 – apparently this apparent 2010 class is seen as particularly having many good talents (from German / Bayern POV) – but there are 28 players you can call from 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, etc – but most likely only 1 or 2 from each class will end up “making it” (in some classes none will make it – maybe if they get 3 from the 2010 class that would be incredible)
It’s a pyramid to the top – every year more players get culled away as not good enough – until the cream rises to the top
Better safe than sorry.
What else does HNS do otherwise?
Let’s have Elon send them an email asking what they did this past week.
Well done article.
What happened to Ivan Caleta and Luka Brnic ?
They were invited/part of April 2024 German camp (same 2010 age group)
Ivan is still getting called up by Croatia, he did in the past camp
