Hajduk alive and well in Group G after Vukušić strike secures 1-0 win
Ante Vukušić’s goal deep into extra time gave Hajduk a thrilling 1-0 victory over Belgian side RSC Anderlecht today, giving the “bijeli” their first three points in Europa League group play.
A quick pass from Marin Ljubičić sent Vukušić in all alone against Anderlecht goalkeeper Silvio Proto and the 19-year-old striker made no mistake, calmly slotting the ball home and igniting a euphoric celebration at Split’s Poljud stadium.

Vukušić has now scored three critical goals in Hajduk’s Europa League campaign. The timely strike helped Ante redeem himself, as he missed golden opportunities to put Hajduk on the board in the 43rd and 57th minute. “It was like in basketball. I scored in the last second and this is definitely my favorite goal of my career,” said Vukušić.

Goalkeeper Danijel Subašić was rarely tested in the Hajduk goal, although he made an excellent save in the 17th minute, bravely smothering a cross at the feet of an Anderlecht player to deny the visitors the early lead.

Hajduk pressed for the three points throughout the second half but were unable to claim a goal until Vukušić’s late strike. Proto denied Ljubičić in the 92nd minute to momentarily preserve the tie while Senijad Ibričić sent a dangerous free kick just wide in the 60th minute.
Striker Marin Tomasov was again ineffective for Hajduk. He was replaced by Ervin Bulku on the 52-minute mark. Tomasov has contributed little to the Hajduk attack since scoring twice in the club’s Europa League qualifiers against Dinamo Bucharest.

Hajduk is now tied with AEK Athens for second place in Group G, as the Greek club fell 4-2 today to group leaders FC Zenit St. Petersburg. Anderlecht remains pointless after two games.
Hajduk travel to Russia October 21 to play the first of two consecutive group games against Zenit. Hajduk host the return match November 4th.
Keep up the lovely text, went ahead and added to my personal internet explorer feed.
looks like jelavic was able to leave the field under his own power, so hopefully it's not too serious.
too bad…his form has been good, and he should be starting up front for the NT.

Here is the Jelavic injury in question

Here is the article about Jelavic
u sure hes injured? didnt read anything about an injnury in multiple game reports. Lakic with a nice free kick to make 6 goals in 8 games
Lakic is pretty much the only guy to call, unless Bilic takes Rukavina out of left field but he isn't really in blistering form
I think Bilic will play a 4-2-3-1 with Olic starting up front alone (zzzzzz). Don't expect anything drastic, they will blow smoke up our ass but in reality they will play for a draw.
For Israel, Ben Haim and Benayoun are doubts

Jelavic injured and it doesn't look good. No word on who we are calling up to replace him. I would say Lakic deserves a call.
I expected Jelavic to start against the Jews. My guess is that it will be Olic and Eduardo.
@ TOM,
Excellent report my friend. I don't just want to congratulate you on your writing skills, but your promptness. I swear this was in CSR's inbox 20 minutes after the final whistle. Good stuff!!
Tom is single-handedly carrying the WHITE TEAM on CSR with his reports in the past few days. Baricevic is doing all he can do, but can he get a bit of help from his Dinamovci? Where you guys at? I'm looking in Zach's direction 🙂
