Hajduk hoping to claim at least one point in Russia, Zenit fans target Torcida

Hajduk Split hope to steal a valuable point today as they play the first of two back-to-back games against heavily favoured Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.
Zenit leads UEFA Europa League Group G by virtue of their 3-1 road win over Belgian’s RSC Anderlecht and their comfortable 4-2 win against Greek side AEK in St. Petersburg.
The Russian league leaders are widely expected to finish atop Group G, with Hajduk and AEK hoping to claim second place and a birth in the tournament’s knockout stage. Hajduk claimed their first three points of the campaign with a 1-0 win over Anderlecht while AEK downed Hajduk 3-1 on matchday one.
High powered Zenit have made quick work of their opponents thus far, scoring six of their seven goals in the first half of their two wins, and Zenit’s Aleksandr Kerzhakov single-handedly beat Anderlecht on matchday one, scoring three goals inside the game’s first 15 minutes.
The sides are meeting for the first time in UEFA club competition, and this is also Zenit’s first match against a Croatian side. Hajduk have played four previous games against Russian teams, winning only once at Poljud and failing to score in Russia.
Stanko Poklepović press conference “kako ovako pišu od njih, onda je pet nula za njih”
Hajduk, who are coming off last Saturday’s unconvincing 1-0 win over mid-table side Slaven Belupo, will surely need to minimize Zenit’s scoring chances if they hope to emerge from Russia with a prized point.
Hajduk defender Hrvoje Vejić, who has looked porous at times, could make way for Mirko Oremuš, allowing Mario Maloča to anchor the central defense alongside Jurica Buljat.
Marin Tomasov did not make the trip to Russia. He is reportedly injured. This could give Krešo Ljubičić an opportunity to see some playing time. Tomasov has been disappointing since scoring in Hajduk’s Europa League qualifiers. He was withdrawn in the 37th minute against Slaven when the guests were dominating possession in midfield.

Hajduk can count on a rude welcome from the Zenit crowd. Croatian media reports say large numbers of Zenit supporters fought with a few dozen Hajduk fans in the lobby of their St. Petersburg hotel, stealing banners and drums from the traveling fans.

Regardless of the result of today’s first leg, Zenit supporters will likely think twice about traveling to Split. The two teams will play again at Poljud Stadium November 4th.
is it me or does the LB of brugge look like flava flave
Wow a miss of the century by Dinamo jebo ti majku
10 million for a kid with potential is worth every penny for Dinamo! I sell that is a lot of money for a what it…for dinamo its worth it for the buyer if Tottenham its worth it as well….because 10 million for them isnt as much to lose….
Just a heads up Vida is starting for Bayer tonight his first start for the club if you are going to tune into that it will probably be somewhere on myp2p.eu
I dont know if any are interested as I am I have to watch both dinamo and that now because I hope to see Vida start to develop slowly.
i have my suspicisions if that is ture, but lets say it is. Sell right away. The chances of this kid becoming a stud are remote. They always are when we hear talk about kids this young. For every Messi prodigy there are 100 others who were proclaimed to be the next big thing and do nothing. There is no gaurentee this kid will ever develop into a stud. sell, sell, sell!!!!…if true.
thanks for the link Zach….. I think its still early for Dinamo to trasfer a 17 year old. However, 10 million pounds is an offer even Mamic couldnt refuse.
another Croat to Tottenham

Right behind him, Ante BBB.
The term "Space Bar" has a space between it as well! Don't give up your day job, unless it requires punctuation skills.

There's also something that's called a spacebar Captain Obvious.

That's only 9 players you idiot, learn the rules before commenting.
