Hajduk Split played Skonto in front of a sell out crowd(just kiddin’)
Hajduk begin preparations for August 2nd home date with Inter
Hajduk have secured a Europa League match up with the mighty Inter Milan by virtue of their 2-1 aggregate win over Latvian league-leaders Skonto. Hajduk went down to defeat 1-0 today in Riga on a 93rd-minute strike from the home side but the result was good enough to earn the bijeli a birth in the competition’s third qualifying round as Skonto was unable to find an equalizer in three additional minutes of injury time.
Mišo Krstičević’s young squad has now earned themselves the opportunity to achieve something truly remarkable against the Serie A giants and the stage is certainly set — the tie’s first leg is set for Split on August 2 and Hajduk is counting on 35,000 Split faithful to provide them with an edge against the heavily favoured Italians. The return match is set for August 9 in Milan.
“We have met the goal and that is important. We promised our fans that we will bring Inter Milan to Poljud and we did. We had three new players. Oremuš, Lustica and Stojanović. We played with two strikers and we wanted to score. Skonto wanted to create pressure, but they didn’t do anything to frighten us. Skonto didn’t threaten us on our end of the field. We made one mistake that cost us a goal, but that didn’t change anything. We go to Inter, but for me at this moment, the match against NK Split on Sunday is more important than Inter.”

Hajduk-Skonto Highlights
“I thought at the beginning of the second half that we would find a way to score. I told my players before the game that we must give our best and then we leave the stadium with our heads held high and that we will receive applause from our fans regardless of the result. I am pleased with how we played, but we lacked that away goal from the first meeting. Had we scored a goal in Split, we would have advanced. There was no chance to get a 3:0 result. In two games Hajduk was the better team, they have young players who will make a name for themselves next year. I’m sorry that we failed to qualify to play against Inter, but I wish Hajduk the best of luck.”

What do you guys think of the new velcro top Mr Croatia? geez, the things you people have to do to make some Euro countries happy, I think probably some race riots soon to fit right in, the boats will be coming from africa now.
I hope Torcida goes in force to San Siro and rocks that stadium. Even if Hajduk loses 4-0, 5-1 I really hope Torcida stay loud and proud throughout the game, sort of like this:
