Hajduk come from behind to beat Dinamo Tirana 2-1 in the 1st leg of their Conference League 3rd round qualifying match! After a disastrous 1st half that saw Hajduk miss golden chances in front of the net and Tirana score a rocket from 25 yards out…it was ALL Hajduk in the 2nd half. Krovinović sent a beautiful cross to Durdov for an easy header to equalize. Sanyang capitalized on a Dinamo defensive blunder to make it 2-1.
Ante Rebić made his debut in front of the Poljud faithful.
Next Thursday: return leg in Albania.
Jagusic 2 assists ✅
Sosa missed a PK as Crystal Palace topped Liverpool in PKs. Crystal Palace scored three of five, Liverpool two of five. Ouch. Sosa shot off the bar.
Luka played second half for Milan in a 4-1 friendly loss at Chelsea. Milan down 2-0 early and down to 10 men after 18th-minute red card. Coach said Luka was to come in later but red changed things.

Vukovar Serb keeper – exiled
Last 3 red cards in HNL games in last minutes of the game – all players with Serb roots
One by one – they will get the message
Whoever let these Serbs into the HNL to begin with should be ashamed
Related, while Bournemouth would be perfect PL team for Luka loan in theory (they just spent 35m on Diakite Lille CB, who Luka could slot next to) – but – they also bought that Chelsea reject Serb keeper – we cannot have Luka playing with/just in front of a Serb keeper (Rijeka vs. Jagusic has taught us they are capable of on-field s*xual assault on Croats) – he could single-handedly derail Luka, his progress and the Croatia NT

Add to list of potential RW (although he looks a bit like Alen Halilovic running on the field – not a complement)
Watched most of Dinamo-Vukovar. Didn’t know Schildenfeld was Vukovar coach. Didn’t recognize him with the new, um, frizura.
Dinamo kits are nice, don’t tell my Hajduk-loving dad though. Hajduk ones are still better though.
Lastly, Stanisic performed VERY WELL as LB vs. T*ttenham
He shut down the best player RW Kudus, who is VERY physical, tricky and fast – completely shut him down
Was very good defensively overall – good awareness, positioning, duelling, tackling – also good forward and in over-lap / under-lap runs and 1-2s with teammates – Anonymous was surprised he was so good on the ball
Back 4 for WC
Valincic Vuskovic Gvardiol Stanisic
Valincic is so powerful and direct bombing down the right-flank – how is he defensively? Even if not the best defensively Croatia should use him as offensive outlet down that right hand-side and Stanisic staying back to have a back 3 in attack
Lisica also looks good – much more versatile and unpredictable (vs. Marco) – a bag of tricks, with many ways to attack – if he continues than both him and Marco should be called up (as very different profiles on the “RW”) – I know others have mentioned other RW to keep eyes on – but reality they will have to be outstanding to get the nod ahead of a Dinamo player (especially if Dalic calls up Valincic, so their partnership can continue on the right-side)
Wait a minute I thought Stanisic was going to Turkey lol. Those rumors were shot down pretty quickly. Lisica for me is a very direct player but not a guy who is going to beat guys with dribbling. I’ve mentioned I really like Krivak as he can beat guys with dribbling and is also fast. I agree with you though little chance of a player from Lokomotiva going straight to the national team. Krivak if not for injuries would have been at Dinamo already. With Dalic though we all know Marco Pasalic will not be starting as he always gives veterans the preference even if it’s not their natural position. So it will either be Kramaric or Mario Pasalic starting on right wing.
Stanisic has played really well over the last two years, even with injury trouble and changing teams. Very underrated.
Sutalo had a great turn around season last year for Ajax. Injured right now but should regain form quickly when he returns. Don’t think you can leave him out at this point..:.he may have been the best player on Ajax last year.
Perhaps better plan:
Gvardiol-Sutalo-Vuskovic-Stanisic.
Could be the best back line at WC 2026.
Only way Dalić starts Vušković at next year’s World Cup is if Vušković manages to stay on the Spurs squad AND wins a starting spot for them (and even then, it will take a few months for him to become an official starter for us).
Championship (2nd tier) started Friday
Pandur vs. Frank Lampard Sat 07:30 EDT
Than EFL Cup vs. Wrexham Tue – there will be many eyes on this match given circus around Wrexham, so important match to perform well, if Pandur starts
Great to see Petar Sucic has established himself as a starter (friendly vs. Monaco today) over Mkhi and Asllani since the Club World Cup

Keke Simmonds w rare start Vukovar
Former Man City academy prospect – was scoring hat-tricks at U18 level as a 16 yo – he was starting games and when he was subbed off Cole Palmer came on for him (yes that Cole Palmer) – and training w City first team that year
From there moved progressively down the pyramid until Croatia 2nd tier last year
Good eg why difficult to project how many young players develop
Imagine being Keke waking up thinking you were better than Palmer at 16 and now you are at Vukovar
Srdan Nedic (Vukovar’s keeper, now ex)
🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦
Livaja always scrappy and around the ball. Good club player and gives it for Hajduk. Never could figure him out with HNS
He didn’t have the speed to keep up at World Cup level, and wasn’t in shape. I personally felt the same about Petković, really. Outside of some clever passes and goals, they didn’t offer pace.
I also think that that poor penalty hit his ego a bit, and of course the issue at Rujevica.
If he committed himself to it a bit more, and would get in better shape and work on his speed I think he could have been an exceptional forward for Croatia.
His attitude, was also a bit of a problem. Should have given Dali ample notice of his decision to not play.
Vukovar fired their Serb Chetnik-loving keeper for following Chetnik instagram page
Anonymous did ask why Serbs are playing in the HNL (following Serb s*dual assault on Jagusic at the weekend) – nobody has an answer – bc none of you ever thought about it and raised the question
Anonymous intuition is always 💯 and unfortunate they have to do all the thinking for a the HNL
Anonymous now calls for full investigation of any Serb (1/4 and above) to see if any other Chetnik loving moles amongst the HNL ranks
Starting with Rijeka LB
A little off topic here. However, here is a video of Modric meeting Pulisic and asking him if he speaks Croatian. It was awkward.

My VERY early-season Hajduk thoughts:
– Bamba has been playing well and could have a breakout year if he stays anywhere near this efficient
– Rebic looks rusty and, now soon turning 32 and with a few really difficult years behind him, you have to wonder how much impact he’ll realistically have.
– Livaja on point as usual.
– Looks like Pukstas is in for another year of not playing much, which is a shame when you consider all the hype around him 3-ish years ago.
– Sigur might be pushed to the side as well. LOTS of competition in those wing-back/CM roles.
Rebić will hurt Durdov and Brajković’s development.
The two of them need to continue to start and develop.
Rebić is expecting to be a starter and will cause locker room issues if he doesn’t eventually get the starting position.
Kalik, Krovinović, Bamba and Benahrou have been playing well…but Dinamo (Zagreb) still have so much more depth in central midfield to outlast Hajduk in a full HNL season.
Re: Sigur…
He’s no longer a priority for development.
Players eligible for our NT always need to take priority.
Just like Bamba or Pukstas, a player like Sigur should play if he’s absolutely needed… but we shouldn’t be going through any growing pains just to develop him.
Hrgović, Skoko, Brajković and Durdov need to get as much game time as possible…even if it hurts us a bit in the short term.
I’m not sure to what extent Dinamo and Hajduk think of the NT when making decisions on who plays. It’s pretty well-known Hajduk (and especially their fans) have a certain level of disdain towards the HNS.
They definitely consider who they could sell for the most in the future, and I’m sure they prefer their Croatian youngsters in a way. But these clubs want to win titles and make money first and foremost. They’re not really there to develop for our NT, although that’s obviously the role they end up playing as the biggest clubs in the country.
That attitude that Hajduk has, towards the national team, needs to change. It’s ridiculous.
How much better would both Hajduk and the national team be if Hajduk took the development of their players more seriously?!
Good comeback by Hajduk in the second half. Bamba was good when he came on and replaced Kalik. Livaja looking for form, could have had a couple of goals.
Rebic looks rusty not sure when he played last?
Hajduk looked the better team, however we’ll see if 2 – 1 is enough for the return leg in Tirana.
Good stuff, Hajduk in the lead now.
Wouldn’t it make sense to have both Rebić and Livaja on the field together. I dunno just throwing it out there.
Putting Rebić on the wing can’t be the worst idea, they have the guy now.
They could have made it a 4-4-2 formation. They could have also kept the current formation and put Rebić on the wing.
The whole problem is that they always rely on Livaja for goals, and only him. The guy can only do so much.
Rebic is a mangup
Hajduk also losing at home, see if we can continue our streak of all of our clubs losing lol
That was a good shot from distance, Ivusic had no chance to save it.
Hajduk had some good chances with Durdov, Kalik going close and Livaja hitting the post so hopefully they can come back in the second half.

Did your shitty little antivirus say it’s a virus? They say anything piracy is a virus you absolute n00bfactory.
Noob factory!!! Lol how many videogames do you play in one day.
Anonymous doing god’s work. 😎
Convinced Frank to take Luka on the plane to Munich (all the other players available for loan per “news” 2 days ago stayed in London 😊).
Anonymous can’t force Frank to play him but giving him the second half seems fair. 🤞🤞🤞

Will be nice to see Harry too.
From time to time, your posts make very little sense! I have no idea what your saying in this post, it’s like your having an internal dialogue in your head and noone else is invited!
As gbvh (third person intentional) noted and quoted, Anonymous reminds me of a GNR lyric (Estranged): “When you’re talking to yourself, and nobody’s home.”
Great song
Guessing you won’t scroll this low to see response, but it really is. I even love November Rain despite it being overplayed (at the time).
Maybe I have a soft spot for the epic long tracks …. some people hate Stairway to Heaven, I love it … Kashmir … 10/10.
Fave Zeppelin song though is Achilles Last Stand. Such juke box value. So long. So good. Ajmo!
Re: Vuskovic
Well. . . Romero and van de Ven didn’t exactly have a convincing performance in Munich. Tottenham got burned for four goals.
I wonder if that changes or solidifies any plans Frank might have in regards to Vuskovic?
There is some talk of Vuskovic being loaned out to another EPL team, maybe Bournemouth. Would that be a good move? Still the top league, but likely more playing time. . .?
What is the best result for Luka? Is it sticking with Tottenham?
It kinda sucks that Vekić had dropped off a bit from the race. She was doing so well there for a bit.
We haven’t had a showing in singles tennis forever.
On a good note: I watched a HRT program a few weeks ago showing the 1st class tennis facilities (made for free public use) that she helped build in Osijek. At least she’s giving back to her hometown community. Maybe with better facilities around the country, we’ll see new Cro tennis stars in the future.
As much as people give her grief for being a slut, she’s done more for Croatian women’s tennis than anyone (and she was never the best prospect with the highest ceiling either).
