Friday saw the return of the HNL for its 27th season (now called the Hrvatski Telekom Prva Liga).
Dinamo’s Sammir returned to China, NK Rudeš has joined the Prva Liga, and Inter’s Vlatko Blažević has been called the “New Jamie Vardy” after scoring two goals in his debut. A lot has happened since Rijeka was crowed champions. Keep up with the latest news here.
Inter Zaprešić gave HNK Cibalia its first defeat of the season while Dinamo, Rijeka, and Hajduk Split all recorded wins over the weekend. The surging NK Osijek finished with a surprised 1-1 draw against newcomers, NK Rudeš. They must have been fatigued after their impressive 2-0 win over Luzern in Europa League play last week.
There will be a change in format for HNL reporting this season.
The biggest change is, for the time being, matches will be streamed live and for free via YouTube on the site. Each Friday, a post will be made to open the match week of the HNL. Embedded video or links to videos will be added to the post to make the matches available to view.
Match reports will focus on one or two matches on the weekend following the completion of the match week, as well as full highlights of all 10 teams.
In the meantime, enjoy this banger of a goal scored by Nikola Moro on Saturday to give Dinamo Zagreb a 1-0 lead over NK Istra at Maksimir Stadium

Youtube streams will be really nice. Prob won’t watch many games, but very easy access.
That’s great that there will be live streams to the games! Good to see, especially since the league is getting more competitive.
