NK LOKOMOTIVA 0 – 3 GNK DINAMO ZAGREB
Dinamo easily routed their stadium co-tenants over the weekend with a convincing score of 3-0.
The Modri have recaptured first place on the table, and are starting to assert their dominance once again.
Lokomotiva have been sitting in second place for much of the season, but even their talented and well-rounded squad was shut down by Dinamo, who are finally gaining steam in the league.
Despite an overwhelming margin of possession, Dinamo did very little in the first half. They did manage to gain a one-goal lead thanks to a penalty scored by Marcelo Brozović in the 37th minute after El Arbi Hillel Soudani was fouled in the box.
Former Dinamo player, Mathias Chago had the lone Lokomotiva chance in the first half, but shot off target on a near break away.
Dinamo was clearly the better team in the second half, playing at a different level than their opponents.
Duje Čop was having a tough match, despite his teams performance.
Čop missed several “gimme goals” in the second half, and then missed another massive opportunity in the box that should have put his team up by two goals.
Čop found himself subbed out of the game in the 66th minute.
Domagoj Antolić scored Dinamo’s second goal soon after in the 68th minute from a shot he took from about 15 yards out.
He would be out shined by Ante Rukavina’s goal, which was scored from 20 yards out.
Dinamo will now pay The Netherland’s PSV a visit in their return leg in the Europa League.

Hajduk opened the scoring when Mario Pašalić scored in the 34th minute, but Slaven had an answer, and scored a goal of their own in the 45th minute when Marin Matoš tapped home a rebound given up by Lovre Kalinić.
The new and improved Slaven Belupo club has been under the leadership of Mladen Frančić, who promised to turn the club around in a month.
Prior to Frančić’s arrival, Slaven was in the midst of a 10-game winless streak and only won match in 22 league matches dating back to December of 2012. Since his arrival, Slaven has lost two matches, won two, and tied three times.
Slaven entered the second half determined to stay with Hajduk in the remainder of the match.
The Pharmacists put the pressure on early, and it paid off.
Petar Brlek scored a goal in the 48th minute off a counter attack after Hajduk was caught on their heels down the field.
And Slaven didn’t stop there. They doubled the lead when Henrique da Silva Edson scored his second goal of the season.
Fortunatly for Hakduk the did not panic and stuck to their game plan.
Hajduk continued to push for a second goal, and eventually achieved when Tino Sven Susić received a ball from Kouassi and slotted it past Silvio Rodić to make the game 3-2.
It was Josip Basić who was the hero for Hajduk.

Rijeka missed a prime opportunity to pass up Hajduk, who drew against Slaven, for second place, but loss for only the second time this season.
Rijeka was the certainly the better team in the second half, producing much of the offense that took place in the second 45 minutes.
Mehemed Alispahić had a near-goal in the 51st minute, but missed from just outside the six yard box.
Rijeka was unable to find the tying goal, and Matjaz Kek put in a new offensive lineup that was still unable to find a goal.

NK ISTRA 1961 1 – 1 NK OSIJEK
Osijek surprised the Istrian team by drawing them, and scoring an early goal that made Istra a little bit nervous at first.
Osijek scored first in the ninth minute when Josip Barišić beat goalkeeper Andrej Prškalo who quickly came off his line, but was beat by Barišić who easily went around him and tapped it in the goal.
Igor Pamićs boys were able tie the game with an impressive goal from Aleksandar Ilić.
Ilić might have gotten a bit lucky, but scored from nearly 30 yards out near the touch line when he seemingly attempted to send in a cross, but hit it perfectly on target and beat Marko Malenica, who had nearly no chance in making a save.
The two teams ended the match in a draw and split the points. Osijek is one point ahead of the last spot on the table, while Istra remain in sixth.

Zadar is in seventh place, but is keeping pace with the mid-table clubs, but The Volunteers have are fighting to get out of last place.
@kathy
Go check out Hajduk, they have a bunch of janitors.
Great news, there is a God. It’s about time. Does anybody need a janitor or parking lot sweeper? Dinamo has a few other potentially good janitors. http://www.vecernji.hr/nogomet/zoran-mamic-sammir-vise-nikad-nece-zaigrati-za-dinamo-901957

Regarding posts and predictions. Ivica always calling it wrong so will go with Ziva on this one
@Živa
Oh no you don’t.
Bašić was my boi. I brought him up way before you did. Stop trying stake a claim to my prophecies nigga.
I’m not too familiar with the tactics of Slaven (before or after Francic took over) so I’m not too aware of what he has done differently, whether it’s training different, more/less discipline, or formation changes, or all of the above, but they certainly have noticeably improved. He was right, we did see a difference in the team in one month. I definitely expect them to continue to improve.
Slaven played well on the weekend they should of won but great improvement under Mladen. Hopefully this will continue for the rest of the season.
Keep an eye out on the development of Basic at mali i jadan hajduk. Now back from injury. He was considered the leader of the U17 squad, no Halilovic
Bravo Dinamo. First place again.
