Only days before the start of the spring half of the HNL season, Hajduk Split coach, Igor Tudor, has resigned from his position with the club.
Players and club officials attempted to persuade the former Croatian International and one of the longest-tenured coaches the club has ever had to stay with the team, but Tudor refused.
Tudor nor the club released a reason for his departure, but it is believed to be over issues of signing and releasing players, which Tudor says allows him to “do no more” with the club.
It is still unclear who will lead Hajduk upon the restart of the season, but there are many options including Cico Kranjcar, Kruno Jurcic, or possible Igor Pamic.
Hajduk will face Rijeka on Saturday at 11 am EST.
@ Bribir
Google Slavisa IVANOVIC (full birth name, not Americanized name) and tell me place of birth….
@ Ziva
God help you bud if you are this guy. Part Serb with a horrible hair line like that….??????
Zungul is not from Serbia! He played for Hajduk and was one of the Best 11 of his time then.
negative my friend. When you live the “za dom….spremni” lifestyle, anything else would be unacceptable.
that would make sense… Zungul is from Serbia, no wonder “Ziva” would be such a Hrvat hater
Steve Zungul is Ziva Istina!
@Poglavnik………all you nned to do is separate the riff raff from the high-tier customer base. Unless teams have a winning product on the field, there is no incentive to go to games. You are better staying at home to watch sporting events unless the owners of these teams can figure out a way to bring the home experience to the stadium. Bigger and more comfortable seats (you can’t imagine how bad some of the seats are in what some teams call suites or luxary boxes), wi fi, better dining options, better selection of beer, roof over the seats, HD scoreboards.
Reja wasn’t a bad coach. He had a big hand in setting the stage for Napoli going from Serie C to becoming a Champions League squad.
It would be good for Hajduk if he came back. Maybe not good for him though, if they’re still in financial disarray.
You happy Ziva!?

I don’t think this would fly in a proper sports town though.
Would love to see how these fans get treated and looked upon in places like Philly or Oakland.
Cico?…
Nobody is bigger than the team. Now for other coaching options, rumors are that Edy Reja might come back, Kranjcar is in the mix, and maybe australian Tony Popovic would accept a job at Hajduk.
People need to shut up about Jurcic. No chance Hajduk shows any interest.
What have been telling you guys about jadan, mali i nemocan hajduk…….there is a reason I reuse to use a capital “h” when discussing them.
Just days before a major derby, Tudor picked a fine time to abandon ship!
@ Slavonac
He’s a nutty Splican, what did you expect?!?
😉
I can picture Kruno waking up the other morning with a feeling that something might go his way. Praying he gets the job. Love to see that goof-ass face.
Anybody else get reminded of Alan from Two-and-a-Half Men when they see Kruno?
typical Tudor fashion…`look at me, look at me`…this guy is a loser!
it would make my afternoon if Hajduk bring on Kruno…
it would be like one of those train-wrecks you can’t help but watch!
Forza Fiume!!
