Juventus, Everton, Real Madrid, and the LA Galaxy will kick the weekend off with Round 2 of the International Champions Cup. All 3 European teams are using this as a final warm up before pre season and an eventual start to the season in their respective leagues. Mateo Kovacic, Tin Jedvaj, Nikica Jelavic, and Luka Modric are all in town this weekend and Croatiansports.com hopes to get some face time with 2 of the 4.
This week we were able to catch up with Madrid training at UCLA. Luka participated in all team events, and looked very comfortable on and off the pitch. For those wondering if he’s going to be in the starting XI, I would say that there is no doubt he’s going to be a shining star in Ancelotti’s system.
We haven’t been able to get any serious face time for interviews, but there should be more to come Saturday night and Sunday morning.

I am still recovering from missing out on 2010.
I first want to get in and I know Mandza can deliver the goods with his goals !
I will go with 12+.

That sounds about right.

he also set up the first goal by getting the penalty
hahaha.. new zealand croatia cricket..
well, there are many hrvati in NZ .. but i had no idea bout the cricket thing.. lolol
@Poglavnik I think the results against the bottom team only matter when comparing to other 2nd place teams, not for determining group winner however.
That being said we still want Scotland to be the bottom team so that we are definitely one of the Top 4 2nd place teams
yes its best if scotland come last for sure.. you’re right
any link to mandzo’s latest goal ??
Perica to chelsea? bloody hell theya re buying kids before they’ve even played much these days.. still if hes one of those tour guys like u said ziva.. man u uncovered some good players by playing their tour players ! who was that french guy who scored a couple of goals against the aus all-stars? i forgot his name but he played really well.. little yoiung black french dude.. dcant rememebr his name

@Nepoznat
So if Scotland finishes bottom of the group, everyones results against them wont matter, including our loss. We should have a decent chance of finishing first, right?
@ Matesic let’s say rock for us the next 12+ games:
2 Friendlies in 2013
3 Qualifiers
2 Playoffs
2 Friendlies in 2014
3 Matches in Brazil
+ meaning if we get out of Group stage at the WC

Saw Zizou in Giant Stadium against Roma.
Pure creative class!
That’s why I love Modric as his game has a bit of Zidane’s essence.
I love Mandzukic because he has that “I am scoring no matter what is the system,” attitude. Pep hated Ibra as well. I guess he doesn’t like tall Balkan strikers ?
Jebi ga. Mandza will either get better with Pep or will take his CL medal and be on his way.
As long as he is ready to rock for us these next 5 games. Everything else is gravy.
Youre right Ziva, just keep burying goals every time Pep subs him into a game at the 70th minute and he’ll have no choice but to start him. Once he put on Madza and Shaqiri, Bayern looked like a completely different team.
something could be off and if it is, its on Mandza to fix it. Pep has a bigger and better reputation, right now.
Perica to Chelsea:

As far as what ESPN knows about their relationship, I have no idea. But its no secret that Pep and Mandza dont see eye to eye. From his past goal celebrations and looking at both yesterdays and todays or lack there of, just seems like something is not right. Who knows they may be best of friends away from the field, but it doesnt take a genius to see theres a rift brewing. Again I may be wrong, just giving you the impression I got from todays game
I’ll say the same thing about this signing that I said about the Delac signing with Chelsea. No chance he will ever play for Chealsea in an EPL match. He is the type of player you will see in the summer when Chelsea tours the US or Asia.
If this kid was legit, Mamic would have got him.
Zadar’s Stipe Perica just signed for Chelsea. He was at the U-20 tourney and scored a goal.
Tall, strong, with the ability to finish, Perica has plenty of potential.
Pep hates that a striker like Mandza does soooo well in a system he is not supposed to be in. Mandza has so much more fire in him this season to score as frequently as possible so Pep can’t have a reason to put him on the bench.
What do the ESPN announcers know about his relationship with Pep? They are broadcasting from a studio thousands of miles away.
I’ve never said Mandza is not a good player. He is very good. All I said is not to be surprised if he will not be in Pep’s starting 11 throughout the season.
Mandzukic with another headed goal just now. It was a ballsy one too diving in close with a Man.City defender. Yes Ziva, it was a great cross. Bayern gives him all the great service. Now that I got that out of the way, he just rang the post after creating space for himself after a nice trap. The ESPN announcers had nothing but praise for him and went on about his days at Dinamo. It was nice to hear. They also said he basically wants Pep Guardiola to shove it up his ass and that he should be starting. Not quite like that, but it was obvious
I just turned on the soccer game after watching water polo. Guys, I apologize for bringing my aunt over from Trilj and allowing her cows to graze the field at Poljud. Even more proof about the joke that is becoming jadan i mali hajduk.
tough loss in water polo, but great game to watch. very exciting.
2 missed penalty shots lost it for us.
Croatia lost to Hungary in the semifinal 10-11
7-9*
Water Polo team not doing that well in the semi final against hungary. 7-8 Hungary leads one more quarter.

New Zealand Croatia cricket team….cool!
@nepoznat. Thank you. Another question, sorry for bothering you, but if we get second place, what teams could be possible play for the knockout games?
@IvicA I noticed the same thing about Luka’s calves! I immediately commented about them on Matt’s FB page where he first posted the pics
@Stipe
1) No chance Modric leaves Real so he isn’t playing for Man U
2) Win out and have Belgium drops points in 2 other games (one would have to be a loss) or Belgium lose 1 other game and Croatia would have to make up a bunch of goals on goal differential (does not matter which game we make up the differential on)
3) Technically yes but we would need Belgium to lose a game and either drop points in another or we would have to make up goal differential
4) Srbija are not technically out of it, if we lose out they could overtake us so they still have some life and reason to play.
@Ivica
Took care of it. Thanks for the heads up.
Zizou in my opinion is the greatest of all time. When he played it was slow motion. He also has won everything there is to win. Pure genius.
Looking at these photos, It’s insane how much bigger Modrić’s calves are than anyone else’s on the team. In some cases, it’s literally double, lol.
He’s probably the shortest and has the most frail upper body, but those mutant legs and his low center of gravity make him machine-built for football.
Is there any chance Modric will play for Man U this season? Also, what does Croatia have to do to win the group? I know we have to win all the remaining games, but do we have to beat Belgium by a certain amount of goals? And if we tie Belgium, are we still capable of winning the group? Lastly, can we still win the group if we tie the game against Belgium. Serbia scares me, they have nothing to play for, they cannot qualify, so Mihajlovic and the cetnici will do everything in their power to beat us or at least tie us to throw us out of qualification. Sorry for all the questions, but if anyone can answer, I’ll appreciate it
calm down guys……screaming like a girl over seeing another human being. That is what females do when they see someone like Justin Bieber. Don’t be a male version of a Justin Biber lover.
greatest european i meant ^^
zizou greatest player of all time? like better then puskas and shit? cos thats a pretty big call isnt it ?
ive got an idea to improve the website
make it so like every other forum on earth images can be embedded pls, thanks !
Did Sergio Ramos see a ghost?
i 100% agree with Dukic
Zizou, greatest European player of all time….
With an amazing touch, he could trap balls with such ease and had sick one touch passing. Truly a Master of the Ball.
Tried to get a few pictures of Zizou, but I only saw him once. He was moving way too fast for me to get a good shot. My jaw dropped when I saw him pass. Living legend.
Of course I love Modrić but o man if I saw Zizou I think I’d scream like a girl.
i now of a place for christiano ronaldo, its called tiger heat in WeHo
