Luka Vušković has been named Bundesliga Player of the Season so far, winning the fan vote ahead of superstars such as Harry Kane, Luis Díaz, and Michael Olise.
At just 18 years old, Luka is already one of the standout players in the Bundesliga. He has put together a remarkable season so far, winning Rookie of the Month in both September and October, as well as claiming the 2025 Bundesliga Goal of the Year award. His loan move to Hamburg has been a huge success for his development, allowing him to play regular and grow into a leader in the Hamburg squad. With his current form, it looks increasingly likely that he will be an important part of Tottenham’s squad next season.
We know how Zlatko Dalić can be reluctant to start young players, but performances like these cannot be ignored. Vušković is already playing at a level that would earn him a starting place in many national teams around the world, and leaving him out of the starting XI at the World Cup this summer would be difficult to justify, especially with the injury to Joško Gvardiol.

Honest question, did Hrvati hijack the vote or do Bundesliga fans honestly think he’s worthy of this award?
I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around a defender, on a team that’s only 5 pts above relegation winning player of the season.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen such a thing.
Are u in need of cataract surgery?
I love my people as much as anyone but I wouldn’t vote for it if it’s not deserving.
Kane leads all scorers across Europe. Faster to 20 goals than Messi or Ronaldo in even their best seasons. And of course his team is going to win the league.
Are there any examples of a defender on a shit team winning an awards like this? Usually if it is a defender (which is rare) it’s someone like Van Dijk or Cannavaro on a dominant team.
Thanks for the insight Z!
Fair enough
I tend to agree with you on the vuskovic voting it is akin to when the orange Don said he was running for president..everyone thought it was hysterical but look how that turned out!
Yes, but you’re not factoring in the fact that Harry Kane is a gargoyle and Luka Vuskovic looks like he could be lead singer of a boy band.
Don’t underestimate how far a pretty face can take you.
(also he does have some skills too)
Nico Radicic about to be a ncaa champ
If he wins the Bundesliga player of the year award, then he has a good chance to get a call up in March (unless Olić tells Dalić otherwise).
I don’t know if he can trust the opinion of a bunch of protestant beer drinkers, might be a little too slow for our swift-footed rakija Catholic team, he may need to give us a little more proof…… rekao je jezik obrazu.
Can you imagine having a guy at this level and can’t get a call up
Not to be rude
But is Olic even qualified to manage our U21 side ?
At 21.5 y/o his own son Luka is still stuck in academy side for a 2nd tier Dutch team and doesn’t seem to have bright career prospects
Meaning – if he couldn’t/can’t even get his own son to be a professional footballer (with genes/genetics, pedigree/connections/access, $$$) which genius thought it’s a good idea to trust him to manage Croatia’s best U21 players (like Jagusic and Vuskovic) ?

Best 18 y/o defender on earth
