Real Madrid, Chelsea, Tottenham, and now Manchester City – Joško Gvardiol has most certainly caught the eyes of Europe’s finest clubs in the last several months.
Fabrizio Romano announced that Pep Guardiola sees Gvardiol as a potential replacement for Nathan Ake, who is predicted to leave the club in the next few days. The Citizens are expected to propose an initial bid for the young defender this week. Many Manchester City supporters on social media believe that signing Gvardiol would certainly upgrade their squad. The 20 year-old would likely slide into Pep’s starting XI alongside Ruben Dias, forming one of the strongest center-back duos in world football.
Gvardiol has already made 29 appearances for Leipzig, and led his side to a DFB Pokal trophy and the Europa League semifinals in only one season with the club. He’s already made a name for himself as a top-three defender in the entire Bundesliga.
However, Leipzig haven’t forgotten how important Gvardiol is to their squad. The club is unwilling to sell Gvardiol unless they receive a blockbuster offer from the Premier League champions. For example, Tottenham were willing to break their transfer record to sign Gvardiol, but the deal fell through and Spurs settled for Barcelona’s Clement Lenglet instead.
Imagine how cool a Guardiola-Gvardiol duo would be…
Vida going to Saudi Arabia. This should end his repka career right?
https://gol.dnevnik.hr/clanak/rubrika/nogomet/transferi-domagoj-vida-potpisuje-za-al-ettifaq-iz-saudijske-arabije—733630.html
Yea, it definitely should.
…or he might get a symbolic role on the team, because he plays in the Middle East (and the World Cup is being held in that part of the World).
Similar to how Ardian Kozniku was on our France98 team simply because he played on a French team (despite us having several much better strikers to sit on the bench for us).
Focused in form Rebić .. you don’t give a look in September?
Sit down with Dalic and work this out.
https://sempremilan.com/tuttosport-rebic-returns-with-a-different-attitude-pioli-and-his-staff-have-noticed
Rebić needs to initiate the conversation. Let Dalić know that he is serious about playing for the Vatreni again…
I used to absolutely love Rebić, but he left a sour taste in my mouth
I agree it’s all on him
As far as I know dalic put it on him
He would be welcomed back i believe if he cleans up his attitude
He could be a great piece, but you ain’t Ronaldo or even close to the Croatian Ronaldo(Perisic)
Raketa maybe was shady here and there but when he played for the repka he gave it his all and I would gladly have him for half a game as needed
If luka goes down having raketa to take the reigns would be great
“ Speaking of Rebic, he also had a good game as he looks as determined and hungry as ever. He was involved in the first goal by stealing the ball, and it looks as though his mentality as right where Pioli will want it to be.”
Rakitic is a world class player who captains Sevilla.
If he is in form you absolutely take him on a 26 man roster to Qatar.
20/30 minutes off the bench is gold.
Also what about depth insurance in case someone gets hurt or simply bums it up?
Who can score from distance like him?
Have you seen his range passing?
Why would we leave any studs at home?
Rebić reboot as well please.
I didn’t have this opinion at first, but I really think younger players like Sucic deserve to start. He had barely 15 mins against France in their first match together in Nation’s League and almost put the game away for us.
What I have come to think is that the older players need to sit out more often unless their name is Modric, Perisic, or Brozovic but even in their case they need to be substituted off during certain games.
We need to start developing young talent I think and a lot of the threads that I disagreed with in the beginning I am know starting to agree with after that appearance that Sucic made.
In short, I don’t care to see Rakitic back honestly. And it’s not because I don’t think he is a good player he is, he just made his choice and I think that that means we should start playing younger players and developing them as an alternative. Sucic, Majer and the likes of these younger guys who deserved more of a shot during the first four games for the Nations League should be getting the opportunity to start more than they have.
Once again half way through the season and we will see if Rebic improves, I think for me it’s more his attitude then anything else he is way too arrogant for a person that doesn’t have that much quality. He has even caused some issues within the Milan squad this season not showing up to training, and questioned his coaches tactics. If you recall he did the same with Dalic. Look sometimes you can blame the coach, but sometimes it is the player too, in Rebic’s case it was the definitely the player. He is one dimensional and not in a good way.
On another note, congrats to Petra Matric on winning the Swiss Open! I hope she develops her game even more. She was impressive with her composure, I hope she can do the same against top seeded player’s and start winning major tournaments
Rakitić gave his shirt to a south Korean girl who was wearing the red and white checkers. If you watch the video, she was overwhelmed and crying, and the man next to her held up a sign that has a red white and blue heart with a grb and says HRVATSKA. Respect.

Rakitic one more year;)
Seriously tho has there ever been a Serb that fans would cry for like that;)
Seriously tho has there ever been a more uncool question than the one you’re asking?
For sure there has been
Iggy asking someone to hold him;)
Nice reply. I needed that. 😂
Kramaric, Barisic and Vlasic with pre-season goals today. I haven’t seen them, but Rakitic’s was a thing of beauty.
https://streamja.com/q5pG0
Ljubicic with quite an opening impression. Wow
Which Ljubičić?
Marin
Marin Ljubicic, 20 and on loan from Hajduk in Austria. Scored a hatrick in the span of 12 minutes for LASK
Nice
Well hopefully this change of scenery can show the talent most of us feel he has
I think it would be responsible to mention that they were playing basically a high school team
Austrian Bundesliga first match of the season. Definitely not a high school team
Captain Rebić

He had a nice assist. Don’t let it get to your head🤣
Rakitic is world class.
26 man roster.
I’d take him everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.
20 minutes of Raketa to close out a match.
Still starts for Sevilla.
He is a beast.
Rebić please as well.
Seeing as there’s not much going on here of late, I’d love to hear some thoughts on Rakitic and the WC.
I rate Rakitic as a better player than more than a few guys on our current roster (Jakic, Ivanusec, Brekalo, Vlasic). In a friendly today vs Tottenham he scored a nice goal from outside the box.
With his big game experience, ability to score from outside the box, penalty taking abilities and general footballing IQ wouldn’t he be a great addition to the WC squad? We can now have a 26 man roster and it definitely wouldn’t hurt to have him coming off the bench to change up a game.
Bog i Hrvati
Agree with you comments about Rakitic’s skillset and mentality, but adding him would not be positive for the team, and would probably be disruptive. The current squad mucked it up against Russia to finally qualify directly and to add someone who voluntarily removed himself from selection, only to be added once the hard work had been done would not be a good decision. It would entail dropping a younger guy from the team who would be getting great experience in the WC tournament.
I don’t think it would be too disruptive as many of the newer call ups didn’t play during qualifying. Having a sub of Rakitic’s quality would be a net gain for the team.
With the expanded roster, I think everyone would be more than happy to have him back.
We could definitely use his shot from outside the box as our forwards are not as strong of a threat at the moment.
Of course Rebić can play center forward.
His future is at center forward for his club career.
He has two months to get it going.
Still may be sold.
Wolfsburg ?
Bradarić to Salernitana in Italy. Never heard of this team, but should get some Serie A time and hopefully get his career back on track.
They alternate between serie a and b
Yes I hope he gets regular playing to help his side stays up and even gets a crack in the national team down the track
No they don’t
That’s where Franck Ribéry was playing last season
Rebić was one of the stand out performers…but he is basically having a “try-out” for the first team. It’s a good step forward, and I wish him success. Also, he was playing as a centre forward…could he reinvent himself as a striker??

Ante Rebić begins yet another comeback!!
https://twitter.com/SempreMilanCom/status/1547238366147739650?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1547238366147739650%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fsempremilan.com%2Fac-milan-3-0-lemine-almenno-five-things-we-learned-dynamic-trio-impress
We will see. That looked like an exhibition match not a competitive game in Serie A or in the an UEFA League Match.
We will have to see how Rebic does mid season, if he has over 10 goals by then and improves his ball control then I would say it’s a go other wise I wouldn’t call him up. One goal in an exhibition match doesn’t mean anything.
Hrvatska is going in the euro monetary union starting in January? I wonder how this will affect business? I’m not sure I love it, but it def will be a more stable currency to do business with
The kuna is pretty much pegged to the Euro anyway, and alot of Croats accept Euros (they actually use the Euro in Crna Gora as their official currency without even being a part of the Eurozone).
Croatia now being part of the Eurozone means that they have a seat in the European Central Bank and can take part in irresponsibly printing and diluting money.
The shorter term drawback is that every retailer will round up when they update their prices, so it will add to the inflation.
If they were smart, they would keep their own currency and try to be a safe haven for taxes, data, etc. and try to capitalize on our youth’s engineering minds. But it seems like Croatia’s leaders would prefer to simply be a part of Europe, let the smartest just bail to Ireland, and just focus on tourism and not think too much about it.
Not the end of the World, but also not maxing out on our potential.
There’s a google commercial that starts off by COMPLAINING about how “people of color” don’t show in a good light in pictures b/c of their dark skin but now google has new technology which has solved the “problem”.
Sorry we didn’t get that technology to you brown folk sooner, can you ever forgive us? LOL!
The commercial in its original form, the COMPLAINING part, has already gone down the memory hole b/c it’s so embarrassing to the AW establishment.
And you really think THIS establishment will last beyond your lifetime? Man, you really do have the brain of a goldfish! LOL!
He’s BAAAAACK!
I missed you like I miss my last bout of food poisoning!
The business side of things in Croatia outside of tourism is an absolute joke… everyone is worried about making a quick buck off tourism and their coffee breaks… also as Croatia joins the monetary union, the dollar to euro hits a flat exchange for the first time in 29 years, not a coincidence

Perišić is world class.
He has rested well this past June and will be in the best shape of his career at Spurs.
He will be prime for Qatar.
T – minus 4 months.
Spremni.
What similarities?

What happened to Croatian Basketball, they lost to Finland and were kicked out of WC qualifying. What an embarrassment. Even the Serb basketball coach took a shot at our basketball free fall. The article title is “What is happening with star studded Croatia?”.
.
https://basketnews.com/news-174916-fiasco-in-fiba-wc-qualifiers-whats-happening-with-star-studded-croatia.html
The only important thing to worry about in that article is the poll that supposedly shows “62% of Croatians are in favor of [“naturalizing”] a foreign player.”
The Boers gave away the country they built so their soccer team could play internationally. Stupidity has always been a capital offense.
The fact that Dino Radja is vehemently against recruiting an “african-american” is enough to keep him in his position.
Looks like the basketball program needs a complete overhaul
We may not be extremely talented
But surely definitely talented to compete against the bigger nations ??
Like zubac and bodanovic are pretty darn solid NBA guys
Who is on Finland???
The Finns have Lauri Markkannen of the Cavs. Hrvatska was up and still lost. I know Hrvati are mad about the direction of the team.
It all starts with the point guard and ROKO is hardly Chris Paul.
Bojan is great at hitting open 3’s when guys like Donovan Mitchell and former team mate Paul George are getting doubled to give him nice looks but he can’t break down defenses on his own.
Then you have hezonja who is a me first type of team-mate.Jacking 3’s though his 3point % has been poor at best wherever he’s played.
With his length and hops you would think Mario could have stepped up to contain Markkannen but he doesn’t have the Heart or desire for the job.
Dario is the heart and soul of this team in my opinion and let’s hope he comes back from the ACL injury.
Team work makes the dream work and they just don’t have it for various reasons!
Drazen would have punched out a few team mates after this piss poor showing!
The good news is he is still very young and with great attitude to work he can come back
He had very good pace though.
He’ll probably lose some of that when he gets back. Moro was in a similar situation, when he blew his ACL as a 19 year old. Moro’s pace and offensive game suffered, and he had to reinvent himself a bit as more of a deep lying midfielder afterward.
We’ll see what happens, but it’s a shame if we lose yet another talent because of knee injuries.
What a huge bummer about kacavenda
I really liked what I saw watching him play a couple of times
He looked like he had that little extra fire in him
Not sure how much game time he would get at Man City…
Prefer him to stay at RB Leipzig for the minutes until after the world cup
I feel the same way, they already have so many starters on that team I feel like he would get benched.
He should stay on Leipzig.
Lukas Kacavenda with the blown knee.
Looks like his career will cap out at half its potential, like what happened to Moro, Pjaca, Krovinovic, etc.
Oh well. On to the next prospect.

I’m not the only one I’m sure who would love to see a write up on 2 of our wonder kids at Bayern, maybe even an interview if possible that would be awesome.
Vidovic and lovro zvonorek..Zvono has been getting a lot of ink lately…both with bright futures it appears.
I am pretty sure he has said that he’s going to stay at RB Leipzig for this season starting in a couple of weeks.
Good stuff. I think it’s good to stay at Leipzig for now. I’m sure Leipzig want to keep till winter period and hoping to cash in on a strong World Cup showing. It’s a very good calculated gamble for them IMO
I wouldn’t have minded him at Tottenham cause of Perisic Influence and they would mesh better especially if josko played the left side
https://www.footyheadlines.com/2021/08/croatia-2022-world-cup-pre-match-shirt.html?m=1
Maybe the game shirt will leak soon.
Hope this is good for him
I feel he has the body and skill for England
Wouldn’t be the worst thing if he stays at Leipzig has an outstanding season and has a killer World Cup
Would be good to keep his form with this funky cup I would hate if he goes to city and struggles and finds himself on bench for a bunch of the start of the season
He would be worth massive money if he lights up the bundesliga one more year
