(During the next 30 days, starting May 10th, CroatianSports will be giving “season grades” to 30 of Croatia’s most important football players: Starting XI, bench, fringe, prospects. Grades will be given on preseason expectations vs. actual season performance; not stats.)
Day 2: Marcelo Brozović
Season Grade: B-
Season Highlight:
2 assists and dominant performance against Verona
Team next season:
-Stay at Inter and win a 2nd Scudetto (50%)
-Move to Barcelona and anchor the Gavi-Pedri midfield duo (40%)
-Join Perišić at Tottenham and be the DM Spurs need to finally make an impact in the Premiership (10%)
What to improve next season:
Consistency and fitness levels. As long as Broz doesn’t get injured (again) and keeps his head screwed on straight, Epic Broz will continue to ball. He needs to build better consistency as he’s had some very rough stretches the past year.
What the future holds:
Brozović has another Euro and World Cup in him at the very least and could help Modrić and company lift an international trophy before retirement. Broz should join this resurgent Barcelona squad (who might be getting Messi back) and help them make a UCL run to capture his first taste of European glory.

Hey Rade, 🤐
Regarding the next World Cup, the number of games played by teams reaching the final four will increase from seven to EIGHT.

I know it’s hard to believe and I’ve given the details before but croatia has had consistently better results without brozovic
The obvious example is a shaky tie against morocco with broz and an easy bronze win without him
Has nothing to do with belief, it has to do with the bias towards certain positions over others which I think you are demonstrating Mr. Truth. It’s like saying that Gvardiol was not a useful player for us during the World Cup, but without him we would have been screwed and Lovren would have been exposed, in fact his flaws did show this World Cup as well even tho I think he gave his best. The same is true when Broz is not playing.
So I disagree, the results, the comments about Broz even this season show his worth and whoever is suggesting we are better without him is delusional. Even in the game against Morocco we narrowly escaped some defensive blunders and that is because Broz was not playing, so I think you need to look back at that game again and look at the defense. See how they play without him and with him. There are many games where he was instrumental for our defense, I think you must not be paying attention or maybe like most soccer viewers you skip over the defense and midfield when assessing player value.
It’s not all about goals abd goalies.
thoughts on all his dirty ink slowly seeping into his brain and affect his decision making?????
Nemoj biti ljubomoran. To nije dobro
Ljubomorna sam na njegove tetovaze
Oh. Ja sam mislio da on zabio tvoju curu. Oprostite

Ima li momak vise pare od tebe ili sto?
apsolutno. ipak sam pametniji…..
Most players struggled with fitness this season, Modric did at the beginning as well. I think this is mainly the reason you have graded him so low, if if his team can pull of a Champions League I think the grade would change.
Broz has had a couple of MOTM matches for Inter in the Champions League and in Serie A. I think he has gotten his fitness level back to where it needs to be. Broz’s only issue is his attitude at times, if he can check that at the door then he will be fine.
The comparison drawn below does not make sense as Messi is a different player from Broz so I am not sure that I understand the point to be made there.
Broz won best midfielder in Serie A last season and this season he is getting back into the game after nursing an injury, which by the way he played with during the World Cup. So I think he is our next best midfielder personally after Modric, and to be honest I wouldn’t have the team without him, or a lineup on the team quite frankly.
Bear in mind this is coming from a Hajdukovac. Broz is a class above the majority of players, even the midfielders on his team struggle to keep up.
the results continue to bear out that croatia plays better without bozo-vic
maybe there’s still some hope he can improve
why does he have to run so much? seems inefficient. chicken with head cut off
messi notoriously doesn’t run and is the greatest player ever. maybe he can explain to brozovic that he’s a soccer player and not a marathoner
Broz is very important for us no doubt, but a niggling question on my mind is who can cover for him if he were to be unavailable or suffer a steep decline in form? In an emergency, I suppose Kova could pinch-hit for Broz?
