Dinamo Zagreb drew to a disappointing 0-0 draw against last-place Slaven Belupo over the weekend in Koprivnicia. This is the first time Dinamo has been held scoreless in a league match since Oct. 19 away at RNK Split.
Elvis Scoria has taken the reigns at Slaven and is hoping to turn the club’s season around.
The match was Dinamo’s last chance to prepare for their Europa League match away to Celtic in Glasgow, Scotland.
The Modri’s attack looked unimpressive, despite starting their best scorer, Duje Čop, as well as their latest addition to the roster, Angelo Henriquez.
The two of them, along with Soudani, created a few chances and crowded the box, but were unable to capitalize on Slaven’s stingy defense.
Slaven too had their chances, but Eduardo was there to make the saves needed to keep the match scoreless.
Dinamo pay a visit to Scotland on Thursday to face the reigning Scotch champions, Celtic. They will be looking to stay on top of the group with at least a draw, but their offense will need some life injected into them soon.
Rijeka took advantage of the Dinamo draw and came back within two points of the champions on the table.
Rijeka welcomed NK Zagreb to Kantrida and shut them out 3-0.
Andrej Kramarić once again came up big with two goals in only five minutes to put his team up 2-0 by the 26th minute. Kramarić has now scored 13 goals in 10 matches.
Ivan Krstanovć capped the night off with the third goal in the second half, and collected all three points.
Zagreb’s young goalkeeper showed that despite the goals allowed, he can still remain calm and composed in goal.
Dominik Livaković did his job well for the Poets at Kantrida and has plenty of time in his young career to be groomed into a quality keeper.
Rijeka should be confident after the match going into their Europa League match on Saturday. Rijeka will face La Liga’s Seville on Thursday at Kantrida and will look for their first points of the group stage.
NK Istra has been a thorn in the side of Hajduk Split for sometime now, keeping the Bili winless in five out of their last six matches against each other.
But Hajduk were able to conquer their demons and took down Istra 2-0 in Pula.
Hajduk kept tensions high in the match until the second half, where they scored both goals in a matter of minutes.
Tino-Sven Susić opened the scoring in the 51st minute and the sore was quickly doubled by Filip Bradarić in the 59th minute.
NK Lokomotiva were able shut down Osijek in Zagreb this weekend, and took three points by winning 2-0 over the struggling team.
Domagoj Pavačić scored a double on the day with his first goal coming in the 46th minute, but it was his second goal that impressed the crowd.
A great individual effort by Pavačić led to a goal in the 85th minute when he beat the last defender to the ball at midfield and found himself on a break away. Pavačić calmly waltzed into the box and took one touch past the keeper to tap the ball in to make the score 2-0 for the Lokosi.
Zadar and RNK Split ended the match week on Monday with a 3-0 Split victory in Split.
Zadar tried to stay perfect while under the control of Ćiro, but the coach of coaches suffered his first loss while in charge of the Zadar club.
Marko Rog, Nino Galović, and Albanian international, Sokol Cikalleshi scored the goals for the Reds.
and Istrian running the repka? my god… we might be better off going with a foreigner at that point! pa… istrijani are sort of foreigners anyway…. 😉
Elvis Scoria for HNS manager! 🙂
@Armada…….Hajduk will get the third spot. The league is rigged.
About Jedvaj,
I read somewhere that Leverkussen coach Schmidt would rest him since he’s only 18 and he played almost every minute until now.
so if things continue the way they way and there is a big battle for that last European spot (3rd place) what are the odds that komunisticki split or Dinamo II overtake Hajduk?
Monaco went scoreless today against Zenit.
Subasic made a few saves for the clean sheet with Zenit being the better team.
Jedvaj wasn’t even on the bench today for Leverkusen.
Is he injured?
Naprid Bili!
Celtic must be kicking themselves for not signing him when he and his agent came to Glasgow to sign the paperwork, and were left hanging by Celtic.
Kramaric is a “beast”… would be great if we could keep him the rest of the season. He’ll win the goal scoring crown by 10+
