Dinamo Zagreb may have been disappointed with the 0-0 draw to Slaven Belupo in front of over 2,000 fans in Koprivnica on Sunday, but the Pharmacists and fans were surely pleased with the result.
Both teams opened the match quickly, but both goalkeepers were there to make the saves for both teams.
Dominik Picak is particularly to blame for the scoreless match after making several key saves from the likes of Ivo Pinto, Ogdjen Vukojevic, and Ante Coric in the first half.
But Dinamo’s Eduardo would not be outdone by his goalkeeping counterpart. Eduardo stood strong in his net and made his contribution to the scoreless draw by making saves from Ljuban Crepulja, Antonijo Misic, and and Petar Brlek.
The score remained even at zero despite the efforts of the offense and the teams were forced to split the points.
The draw awarded Slaven their 31st point of the season, while giving Dinamo their eighth draw of the season. Dinamo remains the only team without a loss through 28 matches this season.
The real excitement of this past match week was found in the thrilling match featuring NK Istra 1961 and HNK Hajduk Split, which finished in a 3-2 victory for Istra.
Hajduk has been in an absolute downward spiral since the departure of coach Igor Tudor, and though the leadership of Stanko Poklepović was short lived, it was one of their worst stretches this season, going seven out of eight matches without a win, and losing three in a row. Poklrpovic was relieved of his duties on Monday and is replaced with sporting director, Goran Vucevic.
Dejan Radonjic opened the scoring in the match in the 51st minute, but it was quickly countered by the equalizer for Hajduk scored by Ante Maglica only seven minutes later.
Istra continued to push for the second goal and truck gold when Zvonko Pamic stepped up to take free kick from nearly 30 yards out.
Pamic’s “goalazo” put Istra back on top in the 74th minute but Marko Ranilovic scored what looked to be the final goal of the match to tie it once again in the 88th minute.
But Istra was not done and once again relied the prowess of Pamic to score a second goal in the 89th minute for the win.
Hajduk’s Avdija Vrsajevic had a few choice words for the referee at the end of the match and earned himself a red card in the 90th minute. Vrsajevic reportedly relayed several vulgar and threatening words to the official and is suspended indefinitely.
HNK Rijeka capped off the match week on Sunday with a convincing 4-1 win over NK Zagreb at Kantrida.
Ivan Tomecak struck first for Rijeka and Bekim Balaj doubled the lead in the 43rd minute
Zagreb was able to get one back thanks to a penalty shot scored by Josip Jurendic, but only one minute later, Mate Mitrovic scored to put Rijeka back in the lead by two goals in the 59th minute.
Marin Tomasov finished it off with his 82nd minute goal and Rijeka took all three points from Zagreb.
The weekend’s first match took place in Zagreb on Friday and was the site of a 2-2 draw between NK Lokomotiva and NK Osijek at Kranjceviceva.
Goals scored by Ante Rukavina and Franko Andrejasevic put the points on the board for the Lokosi, but Sasa Aneff and the Osijek hero, Aljosa Vojnovic scored the two goals for Osijek with Vojnovic’s coming in the 73rd minute to salvage a point on the road for Osijek.
Zadar won an important point on the road in Split as they finished the match against RNK Split with a 1-1 draw.
The goal scoring did not start until Marko Rog found the back of the net in the 82nd minute. But Jure Jerbic struck for Zadar to equalize in the 90th minute to salvage a point in their quest for survival.

Just wanted to say this is so sad.
No reason justifies violence.
Bbb and torcida, as good as they have been support wise, can come across as thugs and sooks, they don’t have much credibility, which doesn’t help get their message across.
On the other hand, I acknowledge that there’s no other immediate alternative.
ZDS
those damn hooligans… just running Dinamo into the ground!

no need for this violence, these guys a bunch of losers
I’m not condoning the attack. It’s not my style to condone violence, but this is all because of the lack of rule and transparency within the savez.
