The UFC just made it official for December 13th,2014 in Phoenix, Arizona. Stipe Miocic will face Junior Dos Santos as the main event of the Fox 13 event. A win for Miocic will pretty much guarentee him a title shot with the winner of the Werdum vs Velasquez showdown.
More to follow in the up coming days.

Stipe je doro.
Cro Cop was legendary. He was feared. He had one of the most lethal left kicks in history.
I like Stipe, but don’t think anyone would say the same for him.
Mirko was a professional in 2 sports and achieved a great deal in each of them. Golden gloves is nothing special.
speaking of serbians in ufc, darko milicic is now training as an mma fighter
@Adrian
Look at Miocics credentials and accomplishments out of MMA then come back and tell me he isnt a better athlete then Mirko.
I’m sorry but miocic is not a better athlete than cc. Mirko went toe to tie with the goat hw.
I agree though that miocic has the better chin. His wrestling is OK. Miocic is way too flat footed.
BTW what’s with people wanting athletes in mma? I want to see fighters (Diaz over gsp)
@Andrej L
Yah that was crazy. Im surprised you recognized me in Zadar out of all places lol. Add me to facebook would like to get the pics you took.Good meeting you.
Hey crippler, crazy running into you, Miocic, and Reljic in Zadar. I didn’t realize that Reljic lived a couple doors down from my cousins house. We probably played as kids. All the UFC fans at my work say that Miocic is definitely a top 5 guy. He’s been on a roll, lets hope he can keep that going against Dos Santos.
I apologize.
I wish Serbia was as good as Croatia but no matter how hard I try, it’s not. It kills me knowing that the only good athletes we have representing Serbia are either born and raised in Croatia, or are half Croatian themselves (or Montenegrin or Bosnjak). Never a pure Serb from Serbia.
A part of me is still torn that Yugoslavia is gone, and now Serbia (despite having TWICE the population that Croatia has) struggles to put together a collection of athletes that are on par with Croatia’s. Sometimes we have a good run, but you guys seem to make the achievement before we do…or one-up us when we achieve something ourselves. Like waterpolo for example. We had arguably the best team in the world for a good period this past decade…but it’s YOU guys who get to win a gold medal at the Olympics, while we’ve never even got one yet.
Thank God for Nole Djokovic. He’s been our only superstar, and he’s been a Godsend for us. But now I find out he’s ethnically more Croatian than Serbian and was trained by a Croat? Oh God.
It’s really tough being Serbian. You guys don’t know how lucky you are.
^ ^
Keep dreaming dude.
Nice to see scum like yourself enjoying such a fine website though..
Serbia is better in every sport so fuck u all
Ziva has it right with his comments. The bottom line they are completely different styled fighters. Mirko is a better kickboxer by far thats easy but Stipe has better boxing and chin by far. The bjj I would say is pretty equal but wrestling Stipe has the advantage.
To be honest the biggest advantage Stipe has over Mirko even in his prime is his team he trains with and he is a pure athlete not just a mixed martial artist. If you have ever trained you will know what i am talking about.
Lets not compare Cro Cop to Miocic. The fans of organized backyard after school fight club will know this………
Miocic treats his team with respect and pays them what they deserve. Cro Cop does not not. He pays them like shit and treats them even worse. You would figure with the amount of $$$$$ he stole from the organized backyard after school fight club league known as UFC, he would be willing to give his team some of the action. But, not so.
@Jovan
There were some Serbian MMA fighters, but they never ended up doing anything.
It can’t compare to what Croats have done and probably will never come close to what guys like Cikatić, Filipović, Miočić, Miletić, Peroš, Pokrajac did in both MMA and K-1 (not to mention guys like Čuvalo, Mavrović, Mate Pavlov, Živić, and the several other medalists we’ve had doing just as much damage in boxing).
Serbs are a realm beneath Croatians in fighting. We witnessed that one on one, on the battlefield and here. You weasels fight when it’s 30 to 1, or in the dark like rats. You’re still running since 1995. The only role for you is as waterboys or in the stands wearing Affliction shirts.
Serbs would get their ass kicked.
We need Serbs in the UFC
Don’t get me wrong. Love that miocic is a Croat and in the top ten.
No way can you compare miocic to Cro cop.
Cro cop was better plain and simple. In his prime he had an incredible kick. Fighters were scared of him and the damage he could do. Remember the two guys he hit in the liver. Unfortunately for him he stayed around a bit too long. Miocic is good but don’t see him getting the title and not in the same category as Cro cop.
He trained with werdum. He tried to get better but she took away his reflexes.
Crocop is a much better striker. He had great takedown defense and he could out wrestle people in the clinch.
Miocic is too slow for two saints.
@Ivica
Well everyone has a punchers change. Miocic does have a good jaw, what he has above Mirko is a better overall game. Miocic is a technical boxer, golden glove champ, real good boxer, he’s fast, and a great wrestler, and i like that miocic is aggressive he’s not a counterstriker like mirko. Crocop, had an iron chin, but he got old, natural evolution of a fighter as they age they get knocked the fuck out. Crocop of course world class striker was never really an MMA fighter, he was a K1 fighter that use to fight in a ring in pride, once the transition to the cage he got fucked. Typical stubborn croat, didn’t want to train in a cage didnt want to get better on the ground etc etc.
The thing with Miočić is that, unlike Cro Cop, Stipe Miočić has an iron jaw. He can’t be knocked out.
He will always last long in a fight (even if he’s losing), and (even if he’s winning) he’ll never have that risk of being knocked out by a lucky punch.
Yeah dos santos cowarded out cos he’s a piece of shit and miocic is gonna slaughter this fuckwit
fuck all u cunts above who said he hasnt been impressive
suck my balls
he’s been hugely impressive in all but one fight in the ufc now get down and start sucking my balls
@Ziva Istina
Yes Dos Santos backed out of the fight with a thumb injury or something.
Weren’t they supposed to fight before and Dos Santos had an injury before the fight and backed out?
WTF – now I’ve heard everything……..
His FBI most-wanted poster describes him as a “heavy smoker, a weapons enthusiast, and a survivalist. He claims to have fought with Serbians in Africa, and he has studied Russian and Serbian languages.”

Well, it’s now or never.
Miočić is like 32, so it’s not like he’s going to get better. He’s got maybe 2-3 years left before he starts to decline.
I honestly didn’t think he’d be a top 10 fighter, and he’s easily made it to that level. Now he’s got a fight against the no. 2 fighter in the world? If he pulls this off, then it’s a title fight? Seriously?!
Most UFC fighters never get this far. Win or lose, he’s been a huge success.
Only fight that he impressed me was the Nelson fight. And nelson didnt have a full training camp either.
@jarac
His not ready for this test.
Would love to see miocic win. But based on his past performances i.e gonzaga he is not in the same league as dos santos. His cardio needs work and he is still developing.
Miocic is ready for this test, good match up against two good boxers. Its gonna be a slug fest. I believe Miocic can do it, ajmo brate Za Dom!
