Cleveland-born Croatian heavyweight Stipe Miocic will return to action at UFC 161 after a 9-month layoff from the Octagon. The event will take place at the MTS Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada against newly signed UFC heavyweight Soa Palelei.
Palelei was signed this week by the UFC after posting a 10-1 record after losing his only fight inside the octagon via TKO to Eddie Sanchez. The only loss on his last run was to unbeaten UFC heavyweight Daniel Cormier.
Miocic on the other hand fell short in his last outing in the UFC, losing via TKO in the second round to Stefan Struve. The loss was not without controversy though as Miocic was eye poked and then slipped on the mat as he was regaining his footing. As Miocic attempted to get to his feet Struve clipped him with several unanswered shots giving Stipe his first loss on his record.
This fight should not go three rounds as both combatants like to throw the leather with ill intentions.Miocic will look to get back in the win column and impress on June 15th in his first fight on Canadian soil.
Stay tuned for up coming news on Stipe Miocic leading up to his showdown with Soi Palelei.

I will be at UFC 161! It is in my backyard, and I have a teammate on that card, Bantamweight Roland Delorme.
Also I must support fellow Croatian fighter Stipe Miocic!
This will be a great night and I look forward to being there live!

Article on the K 1 Tourney in Zagreb coming soon
nice job as always Mike!
@Crippler,Stipe was good in the first round and then let struve get the better of him, i believe that ufc has most of the best fighters and Miocic is very good but will have to get better if he is to face the big boys in the heavyweight division, by the way Crippler any news on the k1 tournament in Zagreb with crocop?
maybe this time he should focus more on training than his twittering?
As i said Miocic will have an easy victory. He lost to Struve and Struve is a good fighter so that’s no disgrace, that’s his only loss iirc. This other fellow lost to Eddie Sanchez, if you want to see a mismatch google Mirko Crocop vs Eddie Sanchez.. laughable. Eddie is a totes can and will loses.
Will it be worth my time to watch this organized afterschool fight club matchup, or will Miocic get his ass kicked again.
Stipe should win this EASILY, if that other guy lost to Eddie Sanchez.. cos eddie is a complete can..
EASY WIN STIPE
mike, this might be a good one for you,me and Tomi to go to!!!!
Ajde Stipe!!!!!
