The Croatian Barracudas recorded another big win at Euro 2026, defeating Turkey 22–9 in their second Main Round match of the tournament.
It was a strong all-around performance, highlighted by Marko Žuvela, who led the way with five goals.
This result makes things clear: a win and only a win against Italy in the final group stage match will secure a place in the semifinals.
The match against Italy will be played on January 21st in Belgrade, Serbia.

Kotarski helped hold Napoli to a draw while on a red card. Super Sucic with a beautiful goal. When they going to give this kid more starts?
Petar Sucic scored against Arsenal. It was a good shot outside of the box.
Going back to our performance right now for football. There’s so much mixed feelings about our appearance at the World Cup. Despite losing Gvardiol and Stanisic now out and hopefully back in time. Our youth does look solid for the next few years. We’re we going to have a legitimate chance this summer? Most likely not. Teams like France, Spain, Portugal etc just have that edge due to the talent pool selection being enhanced due to mass immigration from Africa. Croatia still produces good players and will continue once Modric and the others walk away. Our goaltending situation makes us in deep trouble already. We’ve never had a goalie better than Subasic. Livakovic will continue on until the next World Cup in 2030 by the looks if it. I don’t see any other player that will take his spot that’s on the horizon. Pandur might do it if he gets Hill City to the EPL and face competition for once. Our defence will be solid if all are healthy by the next Euros. Gvardiol, Stanisic, Jakic, Erlic, Vuskovic. Those are all solid and enough to go far. Midfield will need some rearranging. I’m not convinced Kovacic will find his rhythm again. Allowing Baturina, Sucic, Pasalic to start will be refreshing to see. That’s the issue with our management. Continuing to let the older generation to hold on by a thread. I understand our vets are in top notch shape but can’t allow growth for the young bucks if you can’t accept your time has expired. I believe Matanovic, Ivanovic, Ljubicic will all find new clubs and start. We will be alright for the next major tournament. Let’s see how this pans out this year. Lots up in the air now.
Man.. wtf happened to Dino Prizmic? Has he never had a coach or something? His craft is just nowhere.. and he’s being overpowered by James Fuckworth… lol… BY FUCKWORTH !!
Remember a few years back he played Djokovic on center court and lost but was so impressive, and yet another one of our guys who was meant to be the next big thing.. looking at him play now is embarrassing, i can see how he didnt even qualify (got in as a lucky loser). He should’ve been top 30 in the world by this point in his career, instead he’s somehow gone backwards from when he was that 18 year old v djokovic. What the heck happened to this guy?
Prizmic had so many break opportunities in the fourth set that he should have won it. He is 4 – 1 down in the 5th and looks like he is out? I feel sorry for all those Croatian supporters watching him play and chanting for him during the entire match.
He does not have any big shots and his serve lacks speed. At best he might be a top 50 player ? but he is not going to win any major tournaments that is for sure. His best surface is clay.
10 years since Fuckworth has won a 5 set match lol..
At least Ruzic is giving a good account of herself v Osaka. I was worried she’d lose like 6-0, 6-1 or something but thankfully that won’t be happening.
Watching him play was unbearably frustrating. It seemed every time he had the opportunity to break Cuckworth’s serve, he’d end up fumbling. Not to mention the dodgy lobs and questionable serving in his own right.
The guy probably let the Djoko game get to his head. Young 18 year old guy with the whole world ahead of him, being praised by the masses for his performance, buys into his own hype and decides he needn’t train as hard any more. I really hope the guy gets his act together and recognises his potential.
At least Cilic is still in the comp. Idk much about this Shapovalov guy but if Cilic can at least match his performance in the first two sets against Altmaier, then he genuinely has a chance.
