Joško Gvardiol scored for City Saturday to make it 2-0 in a tight 3-2 victory over Leeds. He cleaned up a loose ball in front of the net following a corner for an easy toe-poke goal. It’s a huge win for City as they needed an injury time Foden winner to grab all three points. City now trail Arsenal by five points after with Arsenal’s 1-1 draw vs. Chelsea Sunday, City will gain ground in some fashion. Gvardiol received a lackluster 4/10 from Goal.com for his poor defense on the day. “Like Nunes, his poor defending undid his good work in doubling the lead. Couldn’t communicate with Nunes for the first goal and then produced an awful tackle for the penalty.”

Luka Modrić played the full 90 minutes in a HUGE 1-0 win over Lazio Saturday. Modrić received a 6/10 rating from SempreMilan as the “The veteran lost possession a few more times than usual, and also had some misplaced passes, but ultimately he did enough to call this an average display. It was definitely nice to see him get stuck in towards the end, sending Pedro to the ground.”
Luka Vušković played 90 minutes in a big 2-1 Hamburg win over Stuttgart Sunday. He received a 6.6 SOFAScore rating with 10 clearances only only two total ground/aerial duels won. With the win, Hamburg sit four points clear of the relegation zone.
Ivan Perišić will only be out 2-3 weeks after becoming PSV’s oldest (36) scorer in Champions League days ago. He was subbed off at Anfield with an apparent hamstring injury but nothing serious.
Igor Matanović had an assist taken away due to a VAR offside decision Sunday in Freiburg’s 4-0 win over Mainz. He came off the bench in the 69th minute.

Barca want Vuskovic

Olympic Gold Medal Eye Test
GOAT of all GOATs
Where is the best place for him?
Hard to say – he needs to go to the best team possible where he will be a starter – we won’t really know that from the outside – no point going to Barca (or staying at Tottenhm) and being 3rd choice or below
Gvardiol and Vuskovic , the Guard and the wolf, are going to be a historical backfield, with more goals scored than Suker scored in the end combined.
with the Policemen 👮♂️ (Pandur) overseeing it all
With a 35 year old Modrić we win it all
Hrvatska Trojka:
Yes maybe a 40 year modric will do hopefully.
Good to know that Pandur is Pan-ning out. Also, Grbić with 8 saves against Besiktas including a penalty save. If you watch the highlights of the match, it’s all Grbić both for good and for bad. For his many incredible reaction saves and reads off his line, he has some pretty bizarre non-reactions and choices. It makes you wonder if it’s just him or if playing on teams that are constantly receiving shots on goal would do that to any keeper. In any case, he seems to be getting better.
Hamburg 2-1
Incredible win with last minute Fabio Vierra goal after being down to 10 men
Anonymous took excited to type – will report back later
Incredible win – incredible stuff
A big win for Hamburg. 2-1. Exciting win at home.
Vuskovic had a solid game, was a constant force breaking up plays and heading the ball out of danger. He got his head on a couple of offensive chances but couldn’t quite make enough contact. . . He was enjoying the post-game celebration as much or more than anyone. Hamburg looks to have been a great choice for him.
He perhaps should have done better on the Stuttgart goal, but the Hamburg goalie gave up a rebound that he probably should not have given up. . . . In any event, tremendous play from an 18-year-old in such a good league.
Petar Sucic didn’t play his very best for Inter today (watched until switching over to Hamburg and Vuskovic). However, he is doing very well being a young player in his first year in Serie A. It will take some time.
Switching over to Majer and Wolfsburg. Majer is starting. Let’s hope he finds his form for WC.
If majer couod find his form again. He could be an ace in the back pocket especially for depth if we go deep again
I completely agree with that. . . . He just set up Wolfsburg’s best chance so far, by they couldn’t finish.
Yea, Majer had a good role for us off the bench back in the WC2022.
We had a very good bench crew with Majer, Vlasic, Orsic all contributing key goals, assists and PKs during our run.
Vlasic seems to be finding his form for us lately, and Orsic seems to be back at it for Pafos too. Hopefully all three have good seasons and carry it over into this World Cup so they perform as well as they did in the last one.
Vlašić with another assist this weekend. Maybe he’s finally showing the world how great he can be
Surely pandur has to be considered high up now under livakovic
He’s obviously playing big and In a very relevant league helping his team to maybe do huge things

Thanks for that Pandur YouTube link.
A couple of great saves, he helped Hull City steal that one. They have a shot to make the EPL. . . They really needed that win.
Looks like Norwich City is way down the table this season with Ante Crnac out with that ACL injury.
Looking forward to seeing Hamburg/Vuskovic play tomorrow.
Poor Crnac and Frigan.
Two young strikers lost to serious knee injuries.
Those were outstanding saves
He’s obviously got the good reaction and huge reach
How is he with crosses in/corners/set pieces?
How is his ball handling/distribution?
Crosses in/corners/set pieces – I’d say he’s as good as anyone we have – if not better – he has said in interviews that ever corner he is getting punched, stepped on or elbowed – so has had to learn to adapt – the Championship is a great (tough) league for a keeper to get up to speed on that (or die trying)
Ball handling – nothing special I don’t think – his distribution/long passing stats continue to suck big time (but he tries a lot of low percentage long passing during the game – that’s the way they play – knowing a lot of those balls won’t be won)
I thought it was a bit of a choppy first half between AC Milan and Lazio. Neither team seemed to be able to build any consistent flow.
Thought Basic was one of the better players for Lazio. He has a good left foot. He was taking free kicks and corners for Lazio. He almost had an assist but the Milan goalie makes a spectacular save, and Basic set up another good chance for Lazio later in the half. A tall, lanky player, maybe the best on the field for Lazio in that half.
Modric steady. Not the best half I have seen him play for Milan, but steady.
Lazio got robbed, if you ask me. Considering how rough the game was, calling a foul in attack on what was an obvious handball by Pavlović was the wrong decision. Bašić played well for the most part. Ran the most distance per minute of any player on the field. Really good vision and pass accuracy in the counterattacks. Great set play balls and a powerful shot near the end saved by Maignan. He was, however, partially at fault for Milan’s goal because he didn’t close down the cross. He played better defense once he was moved into the holding midfielder position. Some will say he’s too old. I just see a competent and productive midfielder playing for a competitive team in Serie A.
Modrić was pretty good of course, but Lazio did a good job of denying him the ball.
