No Casemiro. No problem.
Luka Modrić got the start for Real Madrid on Saturday and played 77 minutes in a 4-1 win over Celta Vigo. He netted the game winner in the 41st minute with a wonderful curler from 20 yards out. He later assisted Vini on a perfect through-ball to but the Brazilian on a break away from his own half. Modrić received a 7/10 grade and ‘Man of the Match’ housers as “The man, the myth, the legend. Luka Modrić just cannot be stopped. He is unquestionably the team’s and this midfield system’s backbone. The Croatian feasted on the field with a rocketing out of the box screamer and an artful assist. Man of the match. This guy is turning 37 in a month’s time, wow. “
Ivan Perišić is fitting in quite nicely with his new gang at Spurs. In the last two matches, both Perišić assists have led to a total tally of four points for Tottenham. Both scored by Harry Kane. Saturday afternoon, Perišić flicked a perfect ball following a corner kick to the back post. Kane would do the rest as Spurs squeaked by Wolves 1-0 to go on seven points from their first three matches of the season. He received a 7/10 as “Ivan Perišić earned his first competitive start for Tottenham, and the Croat was the chief creator for the hosts against Wolves. The veteran wide man was lively on the left flank and linked up well with Son Heung-min while putting the hard yards off the ball. And Perišić also grabbed an assist for the match-winning goal as Harry Kane converted his glancing header across the Wolves goal.”
He came off in the 76th minute grabbing his calf. Hopefully nothing serious.
Andrej Kramarić recorded an easy header tap-in goal and an even easier assist as Hoffenheim thumped Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 Saturday. Nothing spectacular but good to see Krama on the board for the first time in this young Bundesliga season.
Gabriel Vidović nailed down his first assist for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Sunday in an absolute rout Bochum of Bochum; winning 7-0. The 18 year-old Vidović came on during junk time to play the last 18 minutes of the match. He laid an easy pass to Gnabry who did all the work, banging in a hard shot in the net off the left post. Good to see Vidović on the stat sheet this early in the German season. We will absolutely be keeping an eye on him.

I like this move. He should have every opportunity to play a lot and get his career back on track.
Potentially, he didn’t do extremely well in Nations League, so maybe this move could help him out.
https://bulinews.com/news/13972/report-sosa-verbal-agreement-atalanta
This would be a good fit for him with their open attacking style of play.
Much much better than Man City for him, he will get more minutes of play. I agree, I don’t like the idea of Man City or Liverpool because at most he will get a substitute type role which is not ideal at this stage. Maybe in a few years a move to such a big name club could be a good move, but he is too young for that still I think.
If he makes a name for himself in Serie A and brings Atalanta to higher heights than I would say a move, like the previous ones talked about, would be well timed.
I am more concerned over ante coric..
It would be great to see Coric do well as we do need a little more depth in that department. But I would say that I am very concerned about the strength of our backline because that is, where I believe, our strength will be come World Cup. If our defence is not on point than our attacking really doesn’t matter at that stage, because everyone will be running back to support. So I don’t know that I agree with you fully.
Sorry I meant Colak there, Coric is doing fine man. He beat Nadal, and some tough opponents to get to the finals, even if he gets deep into one of the big four tournaments then he is showing his capacity to be up there, based on how he played and looking at the stats he played really well.
Oh wait you meant the midfielder, nevermind. I am getting distracted here, people posting about tennis and soccer. Lol. Ante hasn’t been on the radar for a while though has he? Isn’t he playing for Roma?? When o saw the conference league he wasn’t even playing that much, atleast I don’t think he was??..
The final that one I am thinking? I dunno I haven’t been following him that much what’s happening with him??
Lille ditched Grbić for letting in 5 versus PSG, but then his replacement let in 7. They should have just kept Grbić!
Coric with the win. Hopefully this catapults his resurgence after a long injury battle.
I think it’s fantastic for Coric. Hopefully he builds of this success, he faced some tough opponents.
In two matches for Cagliari so far this season, Marko Rog has come off the bench with his team losing and saved them. I hope the guy gets to go back to La Liga or Série A soon. He’s too good to be playing on the second-tier, though it may be good for him to spend some time there until he recovers full fitness
It’s relevant because we need a backup to Brozović, and Jakić isn’t the guy. With Badelj retired from the NT (but still playing well), who is Dalić’s backup DM?
I’m really glad for rog. I’ve always liked him. I dont see him as a DM though. He is dynamic and loves to drive forward with the ball. He is a good tackler and strong but nowadays the CDM position is more about positioning and linking play than it is about tackling. Jakic is ok in my opinion. Also, if for any reason brozovic is out. Dalic can just switch to 4231 with kovacic and modric as the two
I always wonder about Marko Rog. I heard mixed reviews about the guy.
He’s often been the difference between winning and losing during his time at Cagliari. They blame his injury last year for their relegation, framed his return as their last glimmer of hope, and convinced him to stay because they fancy their chances of promotion if he’s on the team. The guy is not world-class, but he is tenacious and brings a unique energy to the game.
Good to know. He doesn’t often get called up, I was just wondering if there was a reason or if it is circumstantial.
Vidovic an assist in his 18 mins off the bench! Stanisic got a bit longer run…
Lovro Majer broken nose, out a few weeks.
Ante rebic takes on Mario Pasalic right now

The legend ..
Alphonso davis is out..and stanisic does not even get to play as back up..
For stanisic to play, will be need pavard de ligt upem hernandez marao davis to be injured and suspended..as nagelsmann prefers shifting CB TO RB or LB rather than using existing RB on bench..if RB or LB is injured.
It’s a bummer for Stanisić, but he’s a great defender, so there’s no reason to waste a substitution on him in a blowout win. The good thing is he rode the bench last year and still played impeccably for Croatia.
Az,
This is Stanisic’s own doing, he has had offers from Bundesliga teams and Premier league teams for a loan but he doesn’t want to go and is trying to “compete” for his spot at Bayern which is such a waste.

This stuff never gets old with celebrating Luka Legend.
Actually like all the young legs around him. It allows him to operate farther forward.
Turning 37 and still at peak?!
Managingmadrid.com: Luka Modric—9: A beautiful goal, a dagger assist, and all around awe-inspiring performance which drew an ovation from the Balaidos crowd.
Coric winning again and into the final
Just tell the U.S. to “GO HOME!”
Perisic at Spurs is the perfect fit.
Hrgovic beat that kinez
He fights for some championship next
But I have no idea which one
Seem like there 20 belts
Someone teach the ignorant
Since Usyk has all 4 since Fury retired, that’s the guy.
I was curious as to what another Croat fighter was up to since hrgovic fought tonight …Alen babic.
I watched hi lights from his last fight in may tonight, and I’m shocked nobody has mentioned it on this forum.
Watch the fight and you’ll know what I mean.
Maybe the best fight of the last couple of years he’s got the heart of a lion 🦁
Ante you need to interview this guy he’s a character and the Brit’s absolutely love this guy!
I need to go see now
The guy is a character and a half. Saw this interview him calling hrgovic out
Did you watch the fight Danny ?
I’m curious as to your take on it?
I realize he’s never going to win the title, he has too many flaws.. but what a warrior!!
Yeah I heard that Hrgović probably shouldn’t of won the fight…at least not by that wide of a margin that the judges gave him.
Just a reminder that “We go as Perisic goes”! He’s phenomenal and a physical specimen!
I watched the Hrgovic fight and thought for the first time that he wasn’t dominant like he usually is. The Chinaman hit him with some big shots but the judges gave him the win…close fight!
Have a great weekend guys and girls!
Perišić, Modric and Brozovic are world class.
Perišić patented scissors to the left set up the corner that he headed for the go ahead assist.
Shortly after he opened up to the right and chose not to shoot. He probably wants to connect with his teammates (a nogometaš trait).
Luka showed the world who ran the famous trio at Real Madrid. No Kroos or Casemiro and he puts in a MOTM performance for a 4-1 win on the road.
I like what Ancelotti is doing with his minutes. Not stressing for full matches.
These other kids get paid as well, let them earn the their keep.
I would like to see Ivan juric be our izbornik one day
I believe he would do a tremendous job tactically
LUKA !
Idalje legenda Luka šalje po ćevape lol. Dude got sat on his ass
Also
Would love to see a luka vs Ivan cl final
Need to have some mention on the upcoming Hrgovic bout tonight. This is a big deal for Croatian sport
Yes@prpic absolutely. Filip is not forgotten
Lol perisic is gonna be “world class” now per the English
The thing I wonder is that play by design by the teams or is just Ivan making gold from a bad play??
He really is magic at that
And his cross over that people know he is gonna do but then does it anyway
May Perisic keep his health
As we all know with him that Spain match very realistically could have been different
Hoping gvardiol gets his groove quickly
And really want sutalo to get healthy
But call me Crazy but erlic may be a solid performer for us if he gets more time
He seems consistent
Martin Erlić getting the start in Serie A Sassuolo
Brekalo glued to the bench with Wolfsburg
I don’t think Perišić is fully fit yet…and he still puts in a masterclass performance. He’s gonna take the spurs to the next level. Harry cane should be kissing Ivan’s feet..he’ll get lots of goals once they start to click.
Perisic is a VIP. That’s it, that’s the post
Gvardiol subbed at halftime, guess I wasn’t the only who noticed his poor performance
Looks like tongues are wagging over there cuz Perisic is taking corners with both left and right foot.
•
Vlasic started for Torino. Nils at the half.
Perinjo needs to be fully fit for World Cup.
He’s as important as Luka. No more no less.
https://www.goalstube.online/2022/08/leverkusen-hoffenheim.html?m=m3
Kramaric with a goal and assist. Nothing spectacular, but it’s good he’s on the scoresheet nonetheless.
https://www.goalstube.online/2022/08/tottenham-hotspur-wolverhampton.html?m=1
How many times do we have to see Perisic do this before the world starts to call it “the Perisic”? Incredible……..
Imagine if Coric wins Cinci hehe 😀
I don’t think it will hurt Luka. Quite the opposite I believe. Real will not miss a beat. Casemiro in my opinion is quite overrated and this will show that Modric is the true leader there.
To be a fair I think it’s a stretch to say casemiro is overrated. I’m pretty sure he has the most successful tackles in UCL the past 5 seasons. I think Madrid will be fine long term as they have talented youngsters in valverede, camavinga, tchouameni- but there will probably be a learning curve. Alaba can also slot and play that role as he’s played it for Bayern and Austria. I do agree however that it shouldn’t effect Luka too much as he will still be allowed freedom to orchestrate.
Watching Leipzig – Gvardiol looking very average. I don’t know if he’s not fully fit or just uninterested, but he’s at fault for both goals. First goal he’s clearly not up to pace of last year, second goal he backed up almost into his own 6yrd box to let the forward cut inside and score.
Agreed that it is a stretch, but at the same time, I think his decline has been rapid for his age, and his understudy is at least at his current level. Another in a series of puzzling moves for United.
In a bit of a surprise move casemiro heading to Man U For a big pay cheque
Don’t know how it will effect Lukas work load I imagine not so good overall
He will have to plug in some holes now
We definitely don’t want the massive work load for Luka’s body
