Ivan Perišić has a below average performance (for his standards) in his first North London Derby as Spurs fall 3-1 to top of the league Arsenal. In 71 minutes of play, Perišić recorded 11 passes and 1 key pass.
Mateo Kovačić plays the full 90 minutes in Chelsea’s 2-1 triumph over Crystal Palace.
Andrej Kramarić scores Hoffenheim’s only goal in a 1-1 draw against Hertha Berlin. He deflected a low shot from Ozan Kabak to take the lead in the 25th minute of play.
Joško Gvardiol earns himself a 7.8 rating on FotMob as Leipzig glide past VfL Bochum by four goals to none. Gvardiol made an impressive 124 passes (with 95.4% accuracy) and completed 7 long balls.
Marin Ljubičić scores AGAIN for LASK as they drew Luka Sučić‘s Redbull Salzburg side, putting his tally to 7 goals in 7 league games. Sučić played just 29 minutes but was very impressive in the limited game time he had.
Duje Ćaleta-Car gets his Southampton debut in a 2-1 loss to Everton. He had a solid performance but missed a big chance to score.
Luka Modrić missed out on Real Madrid’s encounter with Osasuna Sunday in La Liga due to injury. The match ended 1-1.

It looks like Modric is the face of Sofascore. Pretty cool. It’s my go to for all soccer results.
They are a croatian company aren’t they?
Oh wow. I didn’t know that.

@Maminjo
“It actually might piss people off to know that Vladimir Vasilj’s son actually followed in his father’s footsteps and plays as a goalkeeper…but for BiH’s National Team, lol.
Not sure how good he is, but he does play for St. Pauli in the 2.Bundesliga after playing for two seasons in the Ukrainian League.
He got capped last year, so I guess Pletikosa fell asleep on that one.”
Dang… I hope Nikola Vasilj doesn’t end up becoming better than our dear Livakovic 😉
Oh btw… looking at their birthdates, I realize Nikola was conceived while dad Vladimir was still a 19-year old youth player at Siroki Brijeg… tee hee.
After the 2018 WC Rebic looked like he could be a major player for Croatia. He was fast and strong and had a ton of potential. I thought he was going to be great and was excited about Euro 2020/21 But his stocked dropped to a virtual penny after the Euros where he was actually a negative factor on the team. He was a super bust and didn’t do anything except look slow and lazy as if he wasn’t even trying??? A lot of walking around on the field? I couldn’t believe it. What a disappointment!!! Then he went full drama with Dalic and he isn’t even on the team anymore. WTF? The reason why people like or liked Rebic was because he was supposed be good. The problem is after he stunk it up at the Euros and acted like a drama queen too much time passed without a resolution so people have moved on. His ship sailed. He screwed up. I wish he played better at the euros instead of purposely
(in my opinion) playing like shit and then acting like a clown after. When I think of Rebic …. What a waste is the first thing that comes to my mind. As much as I wanted him to be great at this point we don’t need him. Too late and too much drama!!
I don’t have understand all the rebic love?
Yes is he talented to be in squad sure! But he’s not so great to overlook the issue at hand.
Sports is all about what have you done lately for me, and not only was his behaviour terrible after euro with calling out the coach his play on the field was a big Fuxk you as well. He literally didn’t give a shit, why would Dalic even consider him without rebic first publicly apologizing?
Rebic is a slight above average player and as a coach I would never cave for a guy like that and if rebic doesn’t care enough to apologize then you have you’re answer he doesn’t care so why would we?
A big NO to Rebic for mine. He doesn’t want to play as a striker (and that’s the only reason I’d consider him), and I prefer Majer’s skills out wide to Rebic’s clumsy/smotan play.
Leaving colak out for the World Cup would be a mistake however then again who’s spot would he take
Livaja? Can’t have both I reckon and that’s what is on dalics mind at the moment
This is Colaks last chance to play in a World Cup and be of any relevance..
29 years old this should be his prime
If he doesn’t play this time then that’s it
He isn’t going to be better 4 years older/later ?? He won’t be needed
If we didn’t have a striker problem then it wouldn’t be an issue.
But that’s are biggest concern along with goalkeeping.
I really hope he can play so well they can’t overlook him and he gets hot at the World Cup!!! Bring him Dalic you never know you might need him.
Fully agree
Why are you still here BITCH? You can’t be loyal to Croatians and a Traitor to the race they belong to at the same time you two faced faggot.
Pretty amazing to see colak and ljubicic on top of their leagues for now
We complain we have no strikers, and it’s true we have no haaland currently but two guys with barely a chance to make the squad leading their respective leagues
I say we are in fine shape for the future
Simic and or ljubicic most likely will make big impact for next round of qualifying
Out of curiosity I looked up Alen Bokšić and I found out he has 4 children- I wonder if any of them are trying to follow in his footsteps?
Other than Roko Šimić, does anyone know of any other children of former greats that have ultra elite pitential?
Nah.
Hard to take it seriously, because these kids will always get overhyped.
Niko Kranjcar was an example of an ACTUAL elite talent whose dad was a great player, but he didn’t have the mindset to progress and hit his potential.
Dario Simic was more discipline and hard work than talent…so I’m not surprised that it’s his kid that made it.
Guys like Rapaic, Boksic, Prosinecki, Suker, were all talent…but half of them smoked, and probably became star footballers without even trying lol. Doubt they became some die-hard football dads to their kids.
Rapaic’s kid played, but he was never anything special. His name only came up here and there because of who his dad is. I think he’s already retired and he’s not even 25.
Dino Spehar I recall was always hyped, but that’s because his dad was a talented striker and his dad was running NK Osijek at the time (for which Dino was playing on).
Same goes for Tonci Gabric’s kid (Dino). Same goes for Lorenzo Prso (Dado’s son).
It actually might piss people off to know that Vladimir Vasilj’s son actually followed in his father’s footsteps and plays as a goalkeeper…but for BiH’s National Team, lol.
Not sure how good he is, but he does play for St. Pauli in the 2.Bundesliga after playing for two seasons in the Ukrainian League.
He got capped last year, so I guess Pletikosa fell asleep on that one.
Zvonimir Soldo’s youngest Nikola is pretty good I think. Defender who plays for our U-21’s and Köln I believe.
Surprising that there aren’t more elite children in the pipeline!
I figure that the talent passes on through the generations, and with all the experience of their parents, that they would go much further than most.
1. Not all all of our former players ended up having sons (Suker has no kids, Prosinecki has just daughters, etc.)
2. Most people (even if they’re great as sports) don’t become professional athletes. To expect that is unrealistic.
3. People don’t necessarily inherit their father’s athletic abilities.
I’ve seen lots of guys who were great footballers, have kids who simply weren’t talented in the sport at all.
4. If the kids have pro footballer fathers, they’re probably living a pretty good life and are less likely to feel the drive to succeed. (i.e. Modric being poor and owning nothing but a football probably drove him to succeed, whereas most kids who are better off may have multiple options outside football, like going to college or running a family owned business).
Also, even if they have the talent, if they’re not all-in and training to go pro on a daily basis, then it doesn’t matter.
I knew a pretty phenomenal footballer who chose his college degree over going ALL-IN on the sport, and then when he tried to get back into the sport after he completed his education…he had sacrificed too many development years and others had surpassed him.
Maminjo,
You make a very convincing arguement for the drive being the most important asset.
I wonder if part of the strong drive stems from a greater love of the sport, a desire to be rich and famous, a strong competitive nature (wanting to be the best), as you point out- coming from a place where you had very little, or perhaps a combination of some or all of the above?
What I can say about kids I watched go pro in hockey, is that it takes so much more than I ever imagined before I got my kids iinvolved in sports.
He is better than his father.
Dalic has already made up his mind as to who is going to the WC.
Unfortunately, it is high probability that someone from the listed players below will get injured and miss the WC. We just need to prey that none of our key players get serious injuries a week or two out from the WC start.
Barring any injury, the squad will be, as reported in most Croatian Media:
Goalkeepers: Livakovic, Ivusic, Kalinic
Defence: Sosa, Barisic, Juranovic, Stanisic, Gvardiol, J.Sutalo, Erlic, Lovren, Vida
Midfield: Modric, Kovacic, Brozovic, Jakic, Pasalic, Vlasic, Majer & Sucic
Forwards: Perisic, Orsic, Livaja, Kramaric, Petkovic, Budimir
Standby: Caleta-Car, Brekalo, Colak, Ivanusec, Kotarski
Dalic has grown as a coach in utilizing his subs and our depth will be a real difference maker with the 5 sub rule.
Modrić and Perišić have got to be paced in the group stage.
I am particularly concerned about Perišić as Conte runs you into the ground and he plays that wing back position that is up and down the entire flank in the EPL no less.
I trust Real Madrid to be cautious with Modrić as they really need him for El Classico and big occasions.
Although they seem to struggle against anyone without him? No surprise.
Haaland destroyed the Austrian league and every league after that.
If Ljubičić remains hot then call him right up and put him right in. His explosive speed up top and hunger is just what we need.
Priorities for our new #9:
Explosive speed
Hunger to score
Runs and presses all day
Bonus traits:
Technical with link up play
Powerful frame
Tall
Great teammate
“Would be a pretty funny if Ljubičić and Čolak end up winning the scoring title in their respective leagues, and neither get a callup.”
@Maminjo
My hope is that Colak, Rebic and Ljubicic will stay hot this month and force Dalic to call up at least one of them, yes even Rebic (risky as it might be and assuming they can patch up). Budimir and Livaja don’t seem to be doing much this season for their clubs.
On another note, lately I have been wondering whether Modric and Perisic’s bodies can withstand the rigors of tournament football with the packed schedule and possibility of extra time in KO stage… they are our most important players but also the oldest. Modric usually doesn’t play the full 90 minutes in Real matches, and I recall that in the Spain Euro 2020 game, he looked gassed by extra time. Hopefully it helps that the WC is being played in the middle of the season but it’s somewhat offset by a denser club schedule prior to the WC. It was Modric’s recent injury that got me thinking about this and in the Denmark game, I thought Perisic looked uncomfortable when he came off but luckily he turned out okay.
Call up Rakitic, Rebic, Ljubicic, and Colak.
Cut Jakic, Vida, Budimir, and one of Lovren/Barisic. 🙂
Another poor article on Rebic:
https://www.acmilaninfo.com/ac-milan-furious-with-ante-rebic/
Always remember the full picture of the guy when you give him a call up. Is this really what our club needs.
Ivica Olić played the Cameroon match in 2014 with stitches in the bottom of his foot. That’s the attitude of a champion.
So from the last conversation. A small bit on Rebic and issues he is causing at Milan:
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/sempremilan.com/tuttosport-alarm-milan-teammates-rebic-attitude/amp
Anyone hear any definitive news on the modric injury? I was seeing reports of a torn abductor muscle, similar to what he injured a few years back and could put him out 3 months
He’s supposed to be out for 10 days.
He’s playing in the Barcelona tie.
hrt.hr reporting Modric is already kinda practicing today, earlier than originally scheduled
Crnkovic as menu squad:
Livakovic, ivusic, kalinic
Juranovic, stanisic, erlic, sutalo, gvardiol, lovren, sosa, caleta car.
Brozovic, modric, kovacic, majer, jakic, pasalic, vlasic, sucic
Perisic, kramaric, orsic, colak, petkovic, livaja, rebic
Apologies to the ones who miss out. They havent done enough
So Modric can’t play and Madrid’s winning streak is over. It’s no coincidence…… 🤣
Kotarski and PAOK lost 2-1 to Panathinaikos.
Highlights:
https://youtu.be/TtVJzv7qSaE
He got rounded out on the first goal, then he tried to punch clear a ball…but was too late coming out, so he ended punching the opposing striker in the head haha. Ref called a PK and gave Kotarski a yellow card for that.
Saw the highlights, lucky not to get red card for that punch.
Made one great save in the first half.
Thanks for the update Maminjo.
Would be a pretty funny if Ljubičić and Čolak end up winning the scoring title in their respective leagues, and neither get a callup.
“ frankly Rebic sucks, so I am not sure why people keep mentioning the guy ..”
Because he came back from over a month being sidelined with an injury and he scored and assisted for AC Milan:
https://sempremilan.com/rebic-returns-bang-milan-firing-juventus
And we have no vertical speed up top.
Folks make it sound like Rebić pressing and hard running wasn’t key in 2018?
Now if you want to talk Ljubičić then I am all ears.
But to have us going to Qatar without anyone who puts fear in the D up top is asking too much of 37 year old Modrić and 33 year old Perišić.
Soul Champ,
If you feel that strongly about Rebić, find a way to talk some sense into Rebić directly.
You point out that what Sosa did was worse in your opinion, so why wouldn’t Rebić also be forgiven after an apology?
Isn’t Perisic one of our fastest players?? I find that last comment a bit strange not to mention he is the second best player on the team really. Look Soul Champ I am not trying to come off strong in my earlier comment, but I probably did so for that I apologize.
So I get it, maybe I should have worded it differently but again all your looking at is his speed, it’s not like the guy scores 20 goals a season, so I am not getting it. If he was at Ronaldo’s level I would say sure but the guys is not, and I am not sure he will be.
So that kind of a risk on a guy who might put the ball in the net, or might possibly lose the ball and the other team scores on the counter is the fine line Dalic would be playing with here should he give Rebic the call up. It just doesn’t seem worth it to me over vertical speed.
Yes we want fast players in those position but not players who are likely to play fast and loose with the ball in a way that impacts the team poorly.
I think this team that gor called for last 2 ln games is the squad for katar barring any injuries ofcourse and that leaves 26 man one spot which will go to jakic imo Brekalo CC Pongracic Colak Musa will not go to Katar imo
Didn’t realize that Pongracic was playing in Serie A for Lecce, lol
Just curious ..
Sosa gives up his rights to play for Croatia .. insults the entire Croatian community World wide and it’s no problem?
Rebić states the obvious and is banned for life?
Pa da
He’s not banned at all. He can come back anytime he wants, but he doesn’t want to.
At 7 years of age my son was asked to play for an elite AAA private hockey association- I was told that if he was carded by his home association that he could not leave unless he only played house / recreational hockey verses rep / competitive.
I find it incredibly stupid / unbelievable for both Germany and Croatia to not know what the FIFA rules are.
Sosa plays in Germany, his mother was born there, and his grandparents live there.
If Sosa said no to the German offer it’s public relations suicide for him in Germany.
I have to wonder if some or all of the parties knew Sosa belonged to Croatia the whole time?
Either way, the key is that he apologized, Dalić and a large majority of Croatians forgive him.
@Franjo
Croatia always knew what the FIFA rules were. It was Germany who (oddly) didn’t seem to know.
The media had their claws out for the HNS and Dalic (who was being an idiot by never calling up Sosa and constantly allowing Biscan to have Sosa for the U21s).
So, Dalic and the HNS remained silent and let Germany (and Sosa) make fools of themselves in the media…until FIFA informed both Sosa and Germany that this could not happen.
Dalic and the HNS were careful not to burn any bridges and didn’t make a single negative comment about Sosa in the media. They knew that when the dust settled they could quietly bring him back into the team (which they did).
The two should not be compared Soul Champ. I am tired of people razzing on Sosa all the time. Once again it’s the HNS’ fault for not picking up the player sooner, not Sosa’s fault for wanting to further his own soccer career. If you put all that work in would you want something in returninstead of not being called up? I don’t think a guy deserves to blamed for making a career decision or move. It doesn’t happen in any other industry so why this one.
Frankly it’s annoying at this point to hear, and frankly Rebic sucks, so I am not sure why people keep mentioning the guy like he is holier than thou or something. He lost us the fucking Euro pretty much and people brush it aside like it’s nothing. He loses ball so often that his goals really become less meaningful, he is an absolute putz. I am sorry but attitude does matter, and there have been countless articles even at Milan, that talk about difficulties he has created amongst the coaching staff and team. The guy has a lot of growing up to do before a call up.
Sorry, I just don’t see a comparison to an integral player in our defence like Sosa, and a person who we don’t really miss when he is not around like Rebic. I don’t see what we are lacking without him. What?? Speed, you have Perisic and Vlasic .. Goals, well we have a score by committee thing going that so far is working, yes we could use some more but Rebic is not the answer he doesn’t score that often, or often enough to be called up.
If Dalic would put Colak, possibly Musa instead of Budimir I think we would be fine. That would be good enough for me.
The Sosa situation has two sides yes he was a baby but if you look at it he was the best lb in europe for 2021 and croatia didnt have a left back meljnak barisic were forced and in end Gvardiol ended up playing lb. Im not defending sosa but he felt like hns played him he apologized and said sorry
Rebic is a glupa seljacina he didnt even go to do and tell all interview his side of story if i were dalic i would call him either fuck him and his imotski attitude we dont need quiters beacuse remember Dalic gave him a chance 2018 and you know he really did something we dont onow behind scenes when we all know dalic loves his 2018 silver boys and until they play will get call ups.
I agree with Mate. HNS screwed by not giving him a call up. They seem to have learned their lesson and are doing a great job picking off mladi Hrvati from the diaspora to commit to Croatia.
My prior commends the HNS recent recruiting efforts and infers that Sosa is diaspora, which he isn’t.
A big NO to Rebic from me, he doesn’t want to play as a striker (and that’s the only reason I’d consider him), and I prefer Majer’s skills out wide to Rebic’s clumsy/smotan play.
Even if Rebic would apologize, it’s too late for the World Cup. To bring him in after all the hard work put in to qualify is an insult to everyone. He should apologize now, make amends, and if he is good form after the tournament, bring him back in.
Secondly, he is way to inconsistent for me. Admittedly, his ceiling is high, but his floor is way to low. There is no in between for him. He is either a beast or a bust, and with his injury tendencies, there is much more bust than beast.
https://sempremilan.com/rebic-returns-bang-milan-firing-juventus
@Zoki
Are you willing to cut Sosa as he chose Germany over Croatia?
No, of course not, because the kid is the best LB we have and is a nogometaš.
Rebić is now a seasoned World Cup veteran for us. He performed well in 2018.
If he apologizes and Dalic is aligned then welcome him back as the prodigal player!!
Funny feeling that Robo Rebić is going to go beast mode this month.
I fully understand that it’s human nature to want what you can’t get but I just don’t understand all the Rebic talk and I wish it would stop.
Tell me again why we want a player on the roster that thinks so little of his country, that is so self-serving and immature that he wouldn’t make an apology and ask for forgiveness for his stupidity and an opportunity to put the checkers on again.
I’m not Zlatko’s biggest fan but I fully support his stance on Rebic. What’s more, if for some reason a miracle happens and Rebic gets the call without a full apology, Dalic risks losing the entire room for the sake of one player. A player with questionable skills at best.
Tell me again why we want a cancer in the room? If I’m on that team, I would rather represent my country with pride and lose then have someone on the team that couldn’t care less for the shirt.
We already have a cancer in the room with Lovren giving interviews about why he should be starting over our young core players, which will now be fueled now that he scored a goal against Austria (despite playing like shit)
May as well add more cancer to the team
I second what Zoki said and Maminjo as well. Fully agree with both opinions.
No matter what side of the argument you’re on, we have some pretty wild depth to be debating about not bringing on a key player for AC Milan.
Rakitic, Rebic, Brekalo, Lovren, Vida, Pongracic, Duje Caleta-Car, Colak…hate them or love them, most of these guys won’t be on the team and they play either on pretty good teams or pretty good leagues.
Sucic can’t even get a minute unless it’s the U21 team, and guys like Basic, Moro, Jakic, Bradaric, Uremovic will probably never make the team again.
You could probably roll out a starting lineup that includes all of our fringe players and castaways like Rakitic, Rebic, Brekalo, Lovren, Vida, Pongracic, Duje Caleta-Car, Colak.
…and it would beat half the teams in the World Cup.
when people argue about {{Rebic}} should be called up ~
but actually, they forgot Dalic put the calamities l|Lovren|l
into starting eleven vs Marrocco – -> wake up.. you stupid
Rebić not willing to apologize and honor the team then absolutely no spot.
My Catholic faith has informed me about forgiveness of self and others.
I have made many a bonehead mistake in my 20’s.
Sosa chose to register and play for Germany. FIFA technicality has his LB skills playing for Croatia. Slots in a goal vs Denmark and sparks play for goal vs Austria. Dalic ignored his call up because of his connection with Barišić.
Point is we are all human.
Two Croatian men can’t sit down and work this out when we have existential threats to Croatia in around us?
We need power and explosive speed in the final third. We can’t keep on relying on 37 old Modrić and 33 year old Perišić to carry our attack.
Who actually shifts the defense like Rebić?
Personal humility and professional will is what an elite leader is.
This is what we need from Dalic.
Work through intermediaries to create a sit down in Milan.
Rebić on the roster. See how he performs in the tune up matches and then work him in the rotation to support the cause.
Soul Champ,
I admire your suggestions , ideas and your persistence.
The reason I do not think there will be any progress here is because Dalić appears willing to forgive (Sosa is a great example of him doing so).
The problem is that even if Dalić calls up Rebić (without an attitude adjustment), Rebić will expect / demand lots of playing time. Furthermore, Rebić being so smart, will not be open minded enough nor respectful enough of authority to carry out directives. Ante will not listen to advice, and he can not accept constructive criticism. The end result is Rebić gets emotional and criticizes the team (coaches and players).
When nothing changes, nothing changes.
I do not wish to be overly critical of Rebić, and as the result need to point out that I believe his heart is in the right place. However, his attitude and actions need to change in order to properly reflect that.
In the end, I predict that sadly the team and the fans will forget about Rebić, but Rebić will carry the resentment with him for a very long time.
PUT ME IN COACH!!!!!
I’m Ready to play…. TODAY!!!
Considering there is a huge gap in our striker forward position that needs to be filled……….. Let’s see what the kid can do.
I don’t see any downside on bringing
COLAK to Qatar for the WORLD CUP!!!! They created an expanded roster list of players SO it’s really no risk. He’s been playing well and scoring so you can give him a chance. Either way it’s a win. Not to mention our forward/striker position is kind of in limbo to say the least. This is a possible fix for WC….
Scenario 1
Colaks on the bench and the forwards you started aren’t getting the job done so you sub in colak who’s hungry and could provide a boost with fresh legs and a goal!!!!!
Scenario 2
the forwards you started get the job done and the team is going strong so you rest your best and now give Colak a chance to showcase his skills and make a good impression and lock a spot on the team!!
There’s nothing to lose by putting him on the WC roster And there is potentially a huge upside if he starts scoring!!
Same goes for MUSA if he is in good form and ready to play.
He’s 24, this is the age he should debut/ play in World Cup
Use same strategy mentioned above
Good luck everyone
Let’s go Croatia
Colak needs a call up.
I watched the highlights. Both goals were perfect examples of your classic number 9 type goals.
First one was a header into the corner and the second was a nicely timed run with a one timer goal.
If this guy gets the service he’s going to put the ball in the net.
Ajde Zlatko nazovi ga!
Bog i Hrvati
Nobody is taking into account the INTERNAL POLITICAL STRIFE of some of the top teams:
1) Brazils black players are having racial insecurity issues to the point they are demanding prison time for the frenchman who threw a banana in their vicinity. And came up with a slogan that makes Brazilians wonder what Brazil would be like without blacks!
2) We all saw what happened to England after the penalty shootout defeat to Italy.
3) The Danes are demanding Qatarian society convert to Political Correctness exposing their Colonial and White Supremacist mindset!
4) The French team is based on the old colonial idea that we need “african Americans” to defend us against Germans.
A simple rule of thumb is that the least united countries are talking about “unity” the most.
I have not posted for a long time – prefer listening to guys who follow all our players much more than I do, and also know more about the game.
However, when it comes to Rebić (and I have been restraining myself for a long time now), I have a hell of a lot of experience. It comes from self defeating behaviour by shooting my mouth off a lot.
Furthermore, having a big ego that did not allow me to admit I was wrong and apologize. So I can relate to Ante perhaps better than anyone?
Therefore, I am convinced that unless Ante has a life changing experience, and a resultant change of attitude, he won’t play in Qatar. It does not matter how explosive he becomes on the field amd the results he produces, when his mouth is even more explosive, it creates a toxic environment (that is the principle Dalić is staying with).
Furthermore, Dalić said in an interview that it’s not up to him to keep guys off the team, and more importantly, that it was not him that called the team shit.
I interpret that as an open invitation- provided Rebić appologizes. Of course he needs to be healthy and in form, and there’s no doubt in my mind that he can add depth.
Sounds like a person who has done some work
Couldn’t agree more brother
The ball was/is in his court
But I feel more like he is the type saying, see they will miss me instead of saying how can I make this right and show to the team and country that he is valuable and a true team player
After all
Iznad svi…..
Agreed, he is all about himself and not the team.
The example someone posted about Rebić’s goal vs Argentina in World Cup 2018 is a good example- when Ante scored he put his hands up behind his ears (body language interpretation): How great am I – let me hear you acknowledge my superiority?
Much different than a player who scores a nice goal and shares it with the crowd with the sign of the cross (interpretation): How great is our God- glad He gave me the gift to be able to execute that.
@ Mali Ante
That’s what I am talking about Brate!
Rebić has to have 8 scoring plays this month.
He is at 1 goal and 1 assist.
Needs 6 more to make it a real issue for Dalic.
Rebic (7): Right place at the right time for the first goal and it was a great pass to Leao for the third. He also disturbed the Empoli defence a lot.
Do we think/ know rebic even cares about the repka? Too me it feels like he could care less, I haven’t heard one story of him complaining or pushing for a spot on the team… if that’s the case why should we care about his inclusion ?
Lol. As soon as I read Rebic had a goal and assist I knew Soul Champ would go off!
I’m with you brate! I’ve actually always been a Rebic fan. But I despised the bs during the Euros. If you disrespect the coach you are toast (unless you are an elite player).
Rebic offers something we don’t don’t have. Although he he isn’t the most technical player, playing him as a no.9 or at the wing would help with our press and he can score the off goal for us. The strange goal against Argentina and his reaction afterwards with his hands up to his ears was classic.
Unfortunately, it’s very unlikely they kiss and make up unless Rebic goes on a complete tear. Good start today!
To be fair, if we had Rebic in our lineup against France in Paris we probably lose.
That game in June showed us what we’re capable of with everyone on the field is capable of dribbling and crisp passes to one another.
I think he’s useful in certain scenarios, but he’s a total disaster in other scenarios (like we all saw during the Spain game when he couldn’t make a single decent pass and we kept losing possession).
I would call him up, but I don’t want Dalic to call him up. I don’t trust Dalic to know when to (and when NOT to) use Rebic…like at the Euros when he kept him on the field for 70 minutes when everyone in the World knew he had to be subbed off immediately.
If Rebic is playing in form, balls aren’t bouncing off of him and he’s super hard to contain. Any player that’s fighting the ball is bad in a game they need to be controlling the ball. You can’t tell me Rebic isn’t skilled enough to play for us….I bet his coach at Milan would have something to say about that!
He was in form at the last World Cup, and he missed at least one or two sitters per game.
We’re lucky that we dominated every opponent that we played and outshot our opponents by a wide margin, so his bad misses weren’t costly.
But when we’re not dominating, and the game is a very close affair where we’re trying to assert dominance (like our last Euro2020 game) then Rebić is a liability.
He’s great for certain matchups, so I’d still want him on the team… especially since we need a RW.
But he’s not as important as people think.
He isn’t skilled enough to play for us. I just said it, he has no ball retention even in form. Sorry Slavonac, and Soul Champ the guy is a huge liability, the amount of times he lost the ball against difficult opponents like Spain, for example, cost us big. He has also create goal scoring opportunities for the opposition that A C Milan have played previous years,I am not sure how you guys are missing this in the reviews or the games.
People have to stop looking at speed as being the only asset worth discussing, it’s not, we have other players that are quick like Perisic, and Vlasic who have way better ball control, not the best in Vlasic’s case, but still much better than Rebic. If you read the reviews they don’t say much with regards to Rebic’s footwork, ball control, and football IQ because he doesn’t have any. That is a dangerous thing on the field for our team because it can count against the goals scored that a player like this can contribute. So as far as I am concerned Rebic can score a hundred goals, but if you create issues where the other team can score 99 against you it kinda makes the argument in his favour obsolete.
Again I have said in the past that years back I did favour the guy and route for him in Serie A for two full years, but even then his style of play scared me quite a bit. He would.loose the ball frequently, fumble on himself and miss a lot of opportunities in this way, resulting in the opposing team picking up the ball and getting into a counter attack position that dangerous for A C Milan.
I like Rebic as a sub off the bench to press the opposing team’s already tired backline if we decide to sit back and counter (in the last 20 minutes of the game if we are up a goal).
He’s also good in scenarios if nothing is working, so you just throw the bull in the Chinashop and see what happens.
But if we want to dominate possession (which we’ll do in at least two of our group games, and likely the game against Germany if we play them in R16)…then he’s not as important.

Rebić is a BEAST.
29 and in his absolute prime.
Boli me kurac.
Dalic needs to have a machiato in Milano and make this happen.
If you think any other #9 is better than Rebić you have lost your mind.
Rebić has run hard every single time he has put on the checkers. Yeah he is bonehead and does fit our silky smooth technical ethos BUT we have that already. We need hard running up top for 60/30 minutes every game.
Perišić also will need a break as well.
Boban has to facilitate this. HNS probably has a hard on for him as well.
Imotski is a different type of place.
No compromise .. ZDS!!
Rebic scores, maybe Dalic should apologize
Dalic will take kalinic knowing he won’t play but will make the hajduk faithful some What less angry
Also the first goal I rewatched, didn’t even realize he played the pass to the wing. Beautiful longer range give and go
Those were nice finishes. Maybe defending is weak, I’ll leave that to you pros to discuss, but both were quality finishes
That cross he heads from the left side, Perisic and sosa will be serving up 10 of those in a match!
We had an in form budimir we didn’t really use when we could and now dalic trying to use him after the fact
I’m just saying put colak on the bench, you don’t need to start him…
Colak with 2 so far today- channeling his inner Jelavic and Prso. As an arm-chair manager, I am not sure why he’s getting so little of a look by Dalic. Rangers are a historic club and the SPL is no worse than the HNL.

It’s really getting hard to ignore.
How can you not call him up???
I’m not saying he is the solution
But if we go to Qatar
I hit send by accident
If we go to Qatar and flunk out somehow with like two goals scored in group play without bringing colak it will be disappointing
A jelavic/prso Month of goals is all we need We don’t need the future, that’s what the kids are for
We need the now, and the now is almost scoring as many as haaland lol
Yes it’s Scotland, but he has scored against in champions league qualifying just the same
Funny, because Dalić kind of prematurely called up Čolak (a couple of years ago) when he probably didn’t deserve the callup while playing for Rijeka.
Now when it seems like he deserves one, there’s hesitation from Dalić.
Dalić is clever.
He knows that (in general) his most recent callups and lineups are largely supported by the media and fans.
He’s all about pleasing the media and fans.
There’s no benefit to take a risk on Čolak and disturb the positive streak he has going with this current lineup.
If he goes into the World Cup with the current starters, we likely progress to the Round of 16 and if we get bounced (by one of Germany or Spain), then nobody will fault him.
However, if he starts making changes right before the tournament (like starting a new striker) and it fails…then people will call for blood.
It’s alot safer to stick with what you have, cite the reason being that you’ve had major success with this squad in Nations League, and if you get bounced by Germany… you won’t take any fallout.
It’s the safe route that people who are content with a Round of 16 finish would take.
Trying out Čolak these past couple of games was the risk someone who wants to win the World Cup would take.
Personally, I think Čolak will make the team (due to pressure from the media because he’s not slowing down with his scoring) but I would be very surprised if he gets a start.
Maybe in the Belgium game if we clinch the knockout round after the first two wins.

I wonder if a red hot Rebić goes off this October, there would be a ground swell of support for him to be called up?
You know he has it in him to go on a scoring streak.
Call it 8 goals created via assist and scoring.
Like 4/4.
We could win this thing. Why not go in with all the best attacking options up top.
The Rebić injury before UNL made it a moot point. But the way he started Serie A with bang made Dalic nervous.
Ćiro benching Prosinečki against France in ‘98 and not subbing off an injured Boban was the biggest mistake in our modern nogomet history.
Sit down in Milan and work this thing out.
If Rebić goes full Splićanin bonehead then jebi ga.
But we have ZERO explosive center forwards.
Tell Rebić he fights for minutes and when his number his called his number is called.
If he doesn’t align then he doesn’t align.
But if you were about winning the World Cup you take that meeting.
Not to mention you need to rest Perišić here and there as his explosive playmaking is peerless in the squad.
Lets go Sydney =U=
We need to start tracking Kotarski too.
He has three clean sheets in 5 games and has his first big game against Panathinaikos.
If he does well, then we’ll finally have a solid keeper playing first team football in a decent foreign league (I don’t really count Grbic’s short spell at Lille since it was largely a failure).
Last successful keeper playing regularly in a decent foreign league was (sadly) Subasic for Monaco or Kalinic for Gent (over 5 years ago).
The third keeper on roster should be a youngster. Carrying a veteran is a wasted opportunity to develop young talent. Is Kotarski the next Donnarumma, no of course not. But if Italy and Milan not given Donnarumma the opportunity his development would have been less dramatic. Taking a veteran to the NL or WC as the third keeper is pointless.
