19 year-old Luka Sučić is in the form of his life! The young midfielder scored twice and assisted in Salzburg’s 6-0 thrashing of Klagenfurt in the Austrian Bundesliga. FotMob named Sučić “man of the match” and awarded him a phenomenal 9.3 match rating. Sučić has now scored five goals in his last six league matches – not bad for a central-midfielder! If I was in Dalić’s shoes, I would 100% bring Sučić to Qatar in November, especially if squad size is increased.
No doubt about it, Ivan Perišić is still world class. The 33 year-old assisted twice in Inter’s crucial 2-0 victory over Hellas Verona on Saturday. Perišić finished the match with a terrific 9.0 FotMob match rating, and was named “man of the match”. It still breaks my heart that Perišić was unavailable for Croatia’s bout vs. Spain in Euro 2020…
Josip Juranović is an animal down the flank! The 26 year-old fullback converted a penalty and assisted as Celtic thumped St. Johnstone 7-0 in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday. Juranović was given an 8.8 FotMob match rating, and was crucial to the side’s offensive success during the match. Jurki has been delightful this season!

Ante Budimir is on fire right now! The striker handed Osasuna a 1-0 victory in the dying seconds of their match on Sunday vs. Alavés. Budimir now has three goals in his last three La Liga matches, and is playing some of the best football of his life. Will he become a solidified starter for the Vatreni by November?

Mateo Kovačić was absolutely stellar in Chelsea’s 6-0 victory over Southampton on Saturday, earning an 8.4 FotMob match rating. Kovačić proved once again that he is the engine of this Chelsea squad, and should start against Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Petar Musa was crucial for Boavista again on Saturday, assisting the side’s game-winning goal in the 12th minute of the match. The 24 year-old striker has caught the eyes of many European clubs this season, and provides Dalić another option up front.
Joško Gvardiol recorded a 7.6 FotMob match rating in Leipzig’s 3-0 victory over Hoffenheim on Sunday.
Lovro Majer played a solid 76 minutes as Rennes beat Reims 3-2 in Ligue 1.
Gotta play either Budimir or Musa.
They both look like classic #9s.
If they’re popping in goals on the regular for their clubs that’s all we need. For a #9 the most important thing is positioning, heading ability and willingness to run (pressing defenders).
Most goals scored by #9s are tap ins or headers because all they need to do are to be at the right place at the right time.
With our midfield creativity and our crossing from wingbacks (Sosa, Vrsaljko, Juranovic), the goals will come! But without a classic #9 all these tools are wasted.
Does anyone have Dalic’s phone number?
Somebody needs to let him know!
Bog i Hrvati
FYI, Gvardiol is now valued at 96.2 million Euros.
Hey, is Juranovic and Zelensky long lost brothers? They sure look like it.
Obviously we don’t have a crystal ball but with luka and Ivan aging and hot this would be a good time for summer cup
But with still the question marks on who we start where especially in striker and keeper the extra time to prepare should be good for us
Where does luka 2.0 go and when? Does he stay at least one more year in Austria? Would love to see him and roko make a Cinderella type cl run
Any news on how majer played?

Wow.
Very impressive stats from Majer. This kid could become something special.
We really need to give him more starts, even if it is RW for now.
nah, hes a central player. brekalo and orsic are probably better than him RW so it wouldnt make sense to integrate him in that position. In the past our coaches tried to do the same with our CMs; kranjcar, rakitic, brozo, kova were all played winger at one point. kinda pointless in the end. i fear dalic will do the same with majer. I would like to see majer CAM and musa striker
But then you’d have to bench someone.
Majer is probably better than Kovačić.
Imagine Kova hitting the pine again for yet another player (after being hyped for a decade as Modrić’s heir), lol.
With luka most likely leaving after World Cup(is there hope for one more euro??) luka 2.0 heating up. To think he is still really shy of 20 years old.
The potential in him is crazy already playing some big cl type matches
The time we have to wait for maturity may be behind us with him and gvardiol…
Let’s pray dalic can put all the right pieces at play
I think Modrić sticks around for Euro2024
Love to see the boys scoring
The krama budimir combo could turn out well but like we know we have to sacrifice somewhere for it
Sucic scored 2 goals today. I can’t find highlights though. Can anyone provide a link?
Can’t find it.
He scored the first two, and assisted on the third.
Good for him. Hopefully Roko can join him next season.
Budimir with a great finish just now, but he was a step offside
And now a goal in injury time. Perfect positioning and easy finish. Overall a good day for Budimir playing primarily as a lone striker. Very active in the team’s possession game, indefatigable pressuring the defense and keeper, and put the ball in the back of the net twice.

Budimir’s tap in.
Marko Rog is back!
I’m pretty sure that you’re Marko Rog.
There can’t be any other explanation.
Need to do some self-promotion. Otherwise, nobody outside of Sardinia would notice
Man, that’s amazing to see Rog back. Looks like he came off the bench the last two games. He’s first game back was 25 min, 18/18 passes, 5/6 ground duels, and 3 tackles. Not bad…
The reason it’s relevant is that he has always been an excellent passer. He may (or may not) have lost some speed after the injury and surgery, but his ability to read space and think quickly could still be an asset to the repka as a backup for Brozović. Jakic is a good athlete and a solid disrupter, but his first touch is poor, and his passing is inaccurate. With Rog returning to Serie A to help Cagliari secure their spot next season, he should be looked at in comparison to Jakić for that spot on the bench. The Cagliari manager has been saying for weeks that Rog’s return would be crucial to the club’s success. It’s possible that Dalić will see it the same way.

Musa with a nice assist.
I’m just saying we gave petkovic more chances than probably deserved. Musa is over here doing everything to be signed to a big name club now
Outside of the boot luka special
That is one hell of an assist I have to say I’m impressed. In fact, it was a borderline Modric style assist. Maybe this guy deserves a call up…??
We can always use strikers.
Having Krama, Musa and Budimir as our strikers is pretty solid depth.
Since we only have a few games to experiment…
Worst case, you can start the game with Krama (as we have been doing to-date)…then sub in either one of Musa or Budimir if you want to change things up.
Add in Roko Simic within a year from now, and that’s pretty good.

Perisic with 2 assists. The 2nd one should be named after him. How many times has he done that?
Perisic still to this day I think is underrated by the world
That cheeky header flick pass is just too good to be lucky
Perisic was given an exemplary 8/10 grade for his display in the player ratings for the match published in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, whilst Correa received a score of just 5.5/10.
Perisic kept his excellent season going with display which was full of energy even after he was moved from wingback to second striker in the second half, and saw him notch assists for both of the Nerazzurri’s goals.
If he didn’t get covid that Spain game very well could have ended different
I think what we have with luka and Ivan are that ability to change the game from nothing
Hopefully the new generation will be able to fill this role
