FULL TIME: Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 Ludogorets
6′ – GOAAAL! Dinamo Zagreb strike first! Center-back Dino Perić volleys into the bottom left corner! 1-0.
9′ – GOAAAL! Dinamo double their lead thanks to an own goal! 2-0.
22′ – Goal for Ludogorets. Tekpetey beats Livaković from a tough angle. 2-1.
45 + 1′ – HUGE save from Livaković. Ludogorets nearly found their equalizer on the stroke of halftime.
HALFTIME – Dinamo cooled down after their second goal. Oršić, Ljubičić, and Baturina look lively. Mišić having trouble in the midfield.
46′ – Ludogorets inches away from an equalizing goal. Ball sat on the line after hitting the post and Livaković’s hand. Dinamo still in the lead.
67′ – Livaković saves Dinamo again, saving a blazing shot from 12 yards out. Ludogorets are in control of the match.
FULL TIME – Dinamo escape the first leg with a 2-1 victory over Ludogorets in Bulgaria!
Phew…that was tough to watch. After scoring twice within the first ten minutes of the match, Dinamo lost complete control of the match against a much weaker opponent. Dominik Livaković was once again Dinamo’s hero and villain at the same time. At fault for the first goal, but the reason why his side didn’t concede two or three more. Dinamo’s offense went completely stale once Oršić was subbed off in the 70th minute. Baturina, Oršić, Ljubičić, and Lauritsen played a solid match, while Ademi and Mišić struggled in the midfield.
All to play for next week in Zagreb! Dinamo will host the Bulgarian champions at Maksimir on Tuesday for leg 2 of the aggregate.
He featured in 2010-11. What are you rappin about? Dude knows how to play. Does everybody hate Vida or something? Odd https://hesgoal.app/
Domagoj Vida rules! Warrior. We need toughness, these kids haven’t mastered toughness yet. Vida would be a great player coach type thing.
He shouldn’t be anywhere near that plane heading for Qatar.
So, no Vida, Lovren and all veterans are out? Yes? Ok. We won’t be long in quatar if we just bring kids. We will not be long there Markus.
Always need veterans for war. Brozovic and modric are not enough veteran leadership.
Who the fuck is going to lead the back line? Caleta? C’mon
I didn’t mention Lovren at all, I was more focused on Vida. Lovren I wouldn’t be that worked up if he got the call-up. But I wouldn’t call up both though, Vida’s past it.
Vida is not past it. Lovren is past it.
He definitely is. He isn’t strong, quick or even good on the ball. The game against France at the Poljud completely exposed him and the whole of last year as well.
Gotta get rid of Livakovic, Vida, Lovren, and possibly even Barisic (since we have too many options now in our backline now).
We’ll see what happens in the next UNL games. Hopefully Sutalo can come back and solidify his position in the lineup (especially with Gvardiol and Sosa back in there with him).
Vida definitely but for Barisic and Livakovic, we need a convincing replacement for them (If Bradaric does well in Italy, Bradaric>Barisic. Same with Livakovic, if Kotarski or Grbic finds good form they should take #1 GK for Qatar).
On Lovren, I’m a bit half/half. I wouldn’t be against it if he doesn’t get picked but I would only keep him as Squad player because unlike Vida, he actually brings something to the team (experience, physicality, decent on ball and aerial ability).
Markus, we need at least one veteran to lead. Just has to be. Gvardiol at 20 years of age is going to lead? Lol. We going home as fast as we can
Look, if we are bringing a Veteran defender, then it’s definitely Lovren because like I said before, he brings something to the team unlike Vida.
We have to bring a veteran dude! That’s what I’m saying. I don’t give a fuck if it’s Vida, Lovren or dario simic.. Seriously, can’t have no veteran leadership back there or we in deep, deep trouble
So our under 21 club is showing up there with no veterans and rock it? Oh ok. Plane should just do a u-turn and not even show.
Too many options? Oh ok Maminjo. They are kids. They never had for example Harry Kane barrelling in on them. We in deep shit.
Guess who had a Harry Kane barrelling in on them. Lovren, Vida. We need one of them back there that’s all I’m saying.
Gvardiol, Stanisic, etc are not yet good enough to anchor the back line.
…and what notable players did Vida have barreling on him before he played at the World Cup in Russia?
The guy strictly played for Dinamo Zagreb and Dynamo Kiev, and probably never faced a World Class striker ever in his career up to that point.
Gvardiol, Sosa, Stanisic may be young, but they face Bundesliga stars almost every week. Even a guy like Erlic has faced more stiff competition in his young Serie A career than Vida arguably has for most of his career.
I think people are overplaying the veteran leadership that Vida and Lovren bring to the table.
Vida was solid for us, but then fell off a cliff. He’s a complete liability on the field now, and he’s largely just a drinking party guy off the field (which may or may not be a good thing).
Lovren is currently way out-of-form and has been a walking disaster for us (on the field) since the last World Cup, and he probably brings more baggage in the locker room than leadership.
I’m down for bringing in experienced players, but not unplayable ones. I liked Vida a lot a few years ago, but he’s just too far gone to waste a spot just to be a cheerleader on the bench.
Plus, we have veterans in other positions like Broz, Kova and Luka. They can bring that experience on the field if it’s needed.
Maminjo, the guy which I really don’t care about played in multiple major tournaments. What the fuck are you talking about. He’s basically played against everyone. FFS
Vida?
He only started for us in Euro 2016. His resume was playing against Turkey, Czech and Portugal at Euro2016.
Other than that, he played for Dynamo Kiev, and our Dinamo of course. He was on our Euro2012 roster, but he didn’t start any games.
I’m just saying that being a veteran is more than just age, and that Vida’s experience was pretty mediocre when he was starting for us at WC2018.
Gvardiol and these other guys may be young, but they had experienced stiffer competition than Vida has in the leagues they play in.
We don’t need to ever play a Vida or a Lovren because of their age.
We keep falling in this trap where we overplay the older guys (thinking they bring some sort of value) but then their age shows and it screws us (like Pletikosa in 2014 with prime Subasic on the bench).
We can’t be benching our younger more talented guys because we think Vida (or Lovren) will provide some sort of intangibles.
We have Luka and Broz for that. We don’t need vets at every single position.
He featured in 2010-11. What are you rappin about? Dude knows how to play. Does everybody hate Vida or something? Odd
Ludogorets have half the footballing skill of Dinamo but twice the physical strength and speed, plus they have a lot of confidence going forward. The return leg if going to require Dinamo’s players to fight harder for each ball, especially in the center of the pitch. Ljubicic and Ristovski were good examples of how to play against that team.
Ljubicic is not a left fullback. He struggled big time in the second half and was left for dead on a number of occasions. Luckily Ludogorets were unable to convert the opportunities created from their forays on the right hand side. Ljubicic is a midfielder and should play in the midfield. Cacic should use him in the midfield, because that is where Dinamo struggled.
Ivanusec was poor and was replaced at half time. His career is going backwards and he needs to leave Dinamo and HNL for another European Club ASAP.
Livakovic has entered into the compassionate zone due to his severe ineptitude.
He is not good enough to even be critiqued at this point.
I need to see three other keepers this September please.
Reports out of Marseille suggesting Tudor could be sacked today after player unhappiness due to his training methods. He’s only been there a couple of weeks!
He has an authoritarian coaching style where he likes to yell at the players.
I guess the Frenchies don’t like being yelled at, so they told on him and had a meeting with the president.
If Dinamo can fix their sloppy defence, they can become a really strong team. Its tough to watch all the giveaways, and bad passes, but they have potential.
They’ve honestly gotten unlucky because of Josip Sutalo’s injury. Luckily, he’ll be available for the upcoming nations league games.
Good win away from home, however it must be said a bit fortunate.
In my opinion it is still 50/50.
Livakovic finally makes a good save in the 67 minute.
Dinamo hanging on with some desperate defending.
Livakovic again makes a mistake, luckily the ball hits the post and stays out.
Should have been a routine save.
Livaković at fault again. Incredible…
Ludogorets score, from an accute angle Livakovic gets beaten on his near post.
Should never get beaten like that. Dinamo’s defence looks shaky.
Omg the goal livakovic just let in from that angle this guys never ceases to amaze me in how bad he is.
I hope he keeps it up and Dalic has no choice but to drop him from Qatar
Once again…Livakovic blows and should not be on the plane to Qatar.
If Vida makes the cut, so does Livakovic lol
Vida is wayyyyyyyyy better player than Livaković and is our Vice-Kapetan. But that being said there are a lot more CB options than GK options
Vida is nowhere near good enough..not sure what you see in him. People need to start realizing it was our midfield that was carrying us in 2018 due to our possession game, our defence was not strong in that tournament. Vida and Lovren were causing huge problems at the back. Vida couldn’t keep up with Mbappe, and Lovren made several mistakes throughout the tourney, Vida included. It was players like Modric, Rakitic, and Brozovic that made the difference. Mandukic and Perisic as well as they were able to contribute both defensively and offensively.
Many of these things we are lacking now, our goalie was also more than decent in Subasic. If we did not have those things on 2018 we would not have gotten as far as we did, but the defence was terrible on 2018, make no mistake there.
WOW what a start to the match. Could have been easily 2 – 0 to Ludogorets in the first 3 minutes, instead Dinamo stun the home team with two quick goals.
Peric making some silly mistakes at the back.
Quick start for Dinamo. 1-0.
Looks like they finally woke up in Europe.
Anyone with a ink?
