Just after 17:00 CET, UEFA announced their disciplinary sanctions for Croatia. Sanctions are as follows
- A fine of $100,000 Euros
- Prohibit the HNS from selling tickets to certain fans (identified by the HNS and Croatian authorities as hooligans) for the remainder of UEFA EURO 2016. This sanction is deferred under a prohibitionary period until the end of the tournament.
These decisions are open to appeal.
Needless to say Croatia has dodged a massive bullet. In keeping their 4 points, Croatia could automatically advance with an English victory over Slovakia today.
Croatia is going to get spanked by Portugal and CR7 ahhahhhahhahhaha
@Nitro
you are full of shit
Jedvaj, Vrsaljko, Rog, Kalinic and Pjaca all draw in today
quick update here. this what i’m hearing in terms of starting line up
mandzo (if healthy)
perisic rakitic pjaca
badelj brozovic
strinic vida corluka (if healthy) srna
subasic
word is cacic was not thrilled with kovacic’ performance against czech and might look to drop brozovic into the position and replace brozovic on the wing with pjaca
cacic like’s rakitic play behind the striker and is hesitant to move him back into modrics role
dannyj, we do like the Austrians, Hungarians, Czechs and Poles. At least that’s valid for most Croatians. Also, the Slovenes are OK as long as they spend a lot of their money along our beautiful coast, and I guess the rest of the old Double Monarchy is OK too…
I really have to laugh though, as Italians are amongst the most numerous tourists along the Dalmatian Coast, and we have old and solid connections with them from the earliest Croatian states, but they’re generally not very popular privately among Croatians. I don’t think Croatians in general are xenophobic, it’s just a lot of old history and bickering with the bigger European nations. France could have been a great political ally to Croatia, as we really had good connections with them all the way up to Cardinal Richelieu and Napoleon, who both had the same view of Croatians as a proud and outstanding warrior nation. Alas, Croatian politicians have been extremely naive and thought of Yugoslavism (i.e. an expansion of the Greater Serbianism) as a really good idea, those fools. K’o guske u magli is a very appropriate expression for our politicians.
Let’s hope at least, that we can beat those bloody Spaniards today. That would make up for some lost opportunities…!

And did you guys see živa tweet about him being excited to get the Niko Kranjčar Rangers kit?!!
you know i had a canadian friend ask me once… is there any people you guys do like and really had me stumped on it lol
How come everyobdy hates England, France and Germany? Relax, I don’t give a shit. I hate them, too!
@Nitro,
Any talk amongst fans of possibly beating the living shit out of any hooligans that try that shit during the spain game?
OT: Tomas Rosicky out for the rest of the tournament. Big loss for them going into their game tomorrow versus the Turks.
@ Nitro. what about Badeji? He’s been the worst player for Croatia in this tournament.
Kalinic will get a run out tomorrow.
Mandza being dinged up is a blessing. Next man up.
This is kovacics chance to show the world what he can do
What about kalinic? Is he that bad to even give him a shot?I remember him having some good games in qualifiers if I remember correctly
@Mile
HA!
Thats awesome.
dannyj,
Cacic looks like Floyd the barber from The Andy Griffith Show. Check it out:
http://forum.songfacts.com/index.php?/topic/7314-floyd-the-barber/
Be careful what teams you wish for.
ya wonder what cacic would do say if kramaric comes on and pops one in. he doesn’t have that work rate of super mario but has done more with his chances i believe as of late
Good stuff Nitro, thank you!
Actually looking forward to seeing Pjaca play. I feel like we need a different option up top. Hopefully a little Kramaric for the last 20 mins or so too.
thanks for the updates nitro
ya watched some of those russian/england clashes on the streets… pretty intense
on a side note, does anyone else think cacic looks like an older bubbles from trailer park boys? lolol
hey guys, so here is the latest update from the ground in France before i go hit the town out here. I didn’t talk with my buddy on the team, but I talked with some personnel and actually got to sit in on some of the training.
1) Injuries: Luka was in training today, but he trained separately. It’s an overall positive sign and Cacic will toy with the idea of playing him against Spain, but it remains highly unlikely. It’s more a tactic to mess with Spain’s game plan. They are pretty resolute on resting Modric for the knockout states
Mandzukic is looking more and more doubtful. MRI came back fine but he skipped on training. He didn’t train today. The likely replacement for him looks like it will be Pjaca. This looks like it will finally be the bone Cacic gives to Mamic to quiet him down. Cacic continues to question Pjaca’s overall readiness for this level of play, so don’t expect him to continue to use him in game’s that count down the road, unless he really impresses tomorrow.
2) Starting line-up: Look for kovacic to fill in for modric. I heard some buzz about Coric, but this is not looking realistic.
Wow we got really lucky with those punishments.. i guess we are helped by the fact other fans have been causing trouble too so we dont look so bad in comparison. Anyway, lucky break there, just need to ensure those cunts dont get into the games now.
wow mile did the math
well in that case if we don’t go through then we are truly an unlucky bunch
Even if somehow N. Ireland gets a point on Germany and Croatia lose combined with a Czech win, it would take Ireland beating Italy, and Croatia losing by a combined total of 4 goals for Croatia to lose out on a third place spot. Ain’t gonna happen.
Yes Mishko, I would love it. Revenge for 2012 too. I don’t think Spain will go all out too. They might not want to risk the dangerous Croatia counter attack. They would much rather play a 3rd place team than Italy. I could very easily see 0-0 tomorrow.
Yup, some seem confused on how it works.
Top four 3rd place teams advance based on points. Lets take it one day at a time. Croatia tie or win tie or win were moving on. Northern Ireland loose to Germany (come on our german brothers) were in know matter what our outcome against spain.
Way too many scenarios boys.
Lets have this conversation tomorrow..
@Mile, how fucking badass would it be to beat Spain though. Damn I’ve got a boner just thinking about it.
🙂
Yeah, there are way too many combinations right now, but it still looks like being on the top half is better. We’re almost 99% in the playoffs. Croatia will probably know by kickoff if they are in the knockout round. I can’t see N. Ireland taking a point off Germany, unless the Germans just pass the ball around and take a 0-0 tie, knowing that 2nd place would put them in the lighter section. I just can’t see that though. Poland completely dominated N. Ireland, so if Germany does as they should, Croatia will be through an hour before they kick off tomorrow.
Yeah but with the winner of D you play 3rd place b/e/f/ Slovakia I’m not worried about the both E and F are really fucked up. Fuck me, we really don’t know shit until everyone has played, because there is still a chance we might not make it if we loose with a fuck all goal difference. Just saying.
.
ok so we don’t really need modric for tomorrow it seems but is there a chance he will play?
would love to get some revenge on spain… im sure he would love to play against them
I love that England would now have to play France in the quarters if they both win their next game. Good that at least one of them is out by the semis. Nicer if they were both out!
Can the Saint-Etienne fans still buy tickets for the Croatian hooligans?
I hope the HNS appeal.
Good news about Modric. His injury is not serious. Maybe he could play tomorrow. He’s certainly not lost for the tournament.
Rather play England then wales
How messed would it be coric and pjaca Start and halikovic at home lol
Mishko they have 4
EDIT Slovakia with 4 points with 0 goal difference
Slovakia with 4
England so overrated
Slovakia with 3 points.
Turks gonna tie Czechs to save face
We could be playing Wales if we get 3rd place
And we’d be on the “easier” side of the bracket
The tiebreaker with the Czechs if they have the same goals scored and given up would go to the Czechs as of now based on fair play. They have 2 yellow cards and Croatia has gotten 4. The next tiebreaker after fair play is the UEFA coefficient.
Pretty sure if Cro and Czech tie with identical goal differential, Cro finishes higher because of a higher coefficient. Believe I had read that on UEFA in one of their scenario articles.
If the rumors of Ćorić starting are true, oh man, the hooligans are gonna go nuts lol.
That is a pure Mamić move. No way is Ćorić ready to start.

These dumbass kids could learn a lesson from what he says
Scenarios for Croatia:
Win – the top the group (and play a 3rd place team)
Tie – end up 2nd and play Italy
Now the complicated ones:
1. Lose by more than 1 goal and Czechs win by any score – Croatia is 3rd and play France or England
2. Lose by 1 goal and Czechs win by 2 or more goals – same as above
3. Lose 1-0, Czechs win 1-0 – probably 3rd (based on accumulated yellow cards, right now Croatia has 4, Czechs 2)
4. Lose by a lower one goal score than the Czechs win (ie. Croatia loses 1-0, Czechs win 2-1) – 3rd
5. Lose by a higher one goal score than the Czechs win (ie. Croatia lose 2-1, Czechs win 1-0) – 2nd
Phew
Ok fuck England
There ya go that feels better lol
Yes.
If Germany beat Northern Ireland tomorrow we are in, even if the English don’t beat the Slovaks.
Guys, we’re through to the next round.
Northern Ireland will get rocked by Germany. Sweden will not win against Belgium. There are too many teams that will struggle to get 4 points.
I don’t care who we play, so long as our guys are focused, injury free, and there are no hooligan distractions.
We would have beaten Spain if we finished that Czech game with an injury-free Modrić and no hooligan distractions. Now, without Modrić and probably some other rested starters, we’ll draw with them at best.
Ok I’m shitting bricks for nothing??
Croatia has a higher coefficient than a large number of potential teams, if there was a tiebreak. Not sure why people are ‘worried’. They are fine to get to the knockout round. The groups that have Germany and Portugal respectively will have trouble producing a best 3rd place team.
Also Albania is 3rd in their group on 3 points so that’s not an issue.
Man England has no finish
We shouldn’t complain for our guys
If they tied and we lost 1-0 what’s the tie break if we are even with Slovakia
They have parked the bus heavy
we have a terrible goal differential for a tie breaker, i don’t cheer for england ever, but come on vardy where u at.
They have zero touch
English tie not enough by it self
Slovakia would finish with 0 goal difference witch would mean we can not lose to Spain
On another England note
Pretty sure we could beat them
England prob should have got a penalty kick
English making me nervous
Come on u English pricks
Show us how bad ass the premier league is!!
I Coukd see Hungary tieing Portugal then they will be going home im assuming
What happens if we lose tomorrow?
I’m thinking we pull out a tie
I would most enjoy seeing Portugal go home after the group phase is completed. Hoping the Hungarians can get a positive result against them.
If England ties, the top half of the draw is so wide open. If Poland gets second to Germany and Portugal beats Hungary, this would be the top half:
Switzerland vs. Poland
First D vs. 3rd Place B/E/F
Wales vs. 3rd A/C/D
Portugal vs. Belgium
Can you imagine if Croatia beats Spain. They would have a nice road to the finals, a lot easier than the bottom half. But that obviously doesn’t guarantee anything.
Dannyj,
If England wins Croatia is officially in the next round.
This Wales game is exciting. Russia getting big time stretched on the counters.
Bale and Ramsey are beasts!
Is a tie in the England game enough for us?
They have good pressure
Thank god the us open golf is done it took over the normal tsn here for few days… What a joke that was
Dejan M- Smart move by Suker, unlike the wives of suicide losers in San Bernandino & Orlando, our women would never even throw a flare. I say give all the remaining tix to Croatian women!
@dejan M
Suker is a class act. Looking out for the Croatian fans. Great guy.
looks like wales well on its way to taking care of the ruskis. Now we just need england to do there job.
Really hoping England can get the result now so we can be a bit more relaxed. Would still love to win/tie tomorrow though!
Few girls I know from Toronto bumped into Davor suker on the train, he’s giving them vip tickets lol fucking guy
Hvala bogu!
Idemo na bacvice, bacvice,…neka Mamic plati racun…
Imo “Koka”… zabi jos troiku…neko od vas mora do sedan…tako da legenda Sukerman more u penziju…
Za poljica!
Here you go, doesn’t sound easy to me….
http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36523373
Security at an NFL game is way tighter than this shit. They wouldn’t even let my girlfriend at the time bring in a small clutch purse to a Raiders game even after emptying it completely.
@petar
I was patted down 3 times fairly quickly and lightly
Can’t get close to the stadium without a ticket
Niceeeee, now we can potentially be locked into next round depending on out come of the games today. Bring on the Spanish
Anyone been going to the games or know of people who are at the EURO? What’s the protocol for getting into the stadia? I’m hearing from an acquaintance that the security does a light pat down of the individual entering the stadium and that’s all.
No word of any security dogs on the premises during match day.
If that’s really all that French security is doing, then no wonder this type of garbage is happening inside the stadiums and we are seeing it’s not just Croatia either. Recent matches involving Turkey and Hungary come to mind.
This “fine” is more an indictment to the lack of security than to the guys who threw the flares.
This is fantastic news but I hope the FA does not let up on their pursuit and prosecution of those involved. I’m sure the penalty was light because UEFA realizes that these hooligans were trying to sabotage the team.
If the penalty had been harsher, our FA would have been partially to blame for not going after these guys earlier (after Italy qualifiers). I think if we pull back now that we got a favorable outcome the next incident will not be looked on in the same way.
I really hope the players can put this behind them now and that Luka makes a speedy recovery.
lets fucking goooo guys!! we can beat spain without modric I have faith in them ….a win would be so big for us lets do this shit!
Great we’ll take it…even though we should be fining Uefa for not having proper security at an away game. Hopefully Uefa spends the full €100000 for an explosive powder detector for tomorrow’s game (I don’t care if it is a friggin Beagle.)
It will be hard w/o Modric, but let’s win tomorrow for confidence reasons. Spain is just a bigger San Marino 😉
Reminder that Germany is not in control of it’s own destiny. But it is a strategic boon that we play after them.
I agree the Czech’s should beat the Turks who looked awful vs Spain.
It would be nice to see the boys play with no pressure, assuming no other BS from those so-called fans; I’m hearing Coric may start which I would love to see given his direct nature and speed….also, would love to see someone, anyone other than Mandzo start.
Let’s relax the assumptions and focus on tomorrow
wer coming for 3 points which would also change your play off order
The way you talking we shouldn’t even show up tomorrow
And I’d tip the Czechs to win their match, compact group of boys good in the air with a decent coach
Thank god this made me a little happier but damn beating spain without modric is gonna be hard I hope we can prove everyone wrong
Croatia is guaranteed in the 2nd round no matter what happens. Albania is already behind us as a third place team, and there will be at least two others that won’t hit the 4 point mark. Northern Ireland for sure, probably Slovakia, and Sweden/Ireland will finish with 2 points max. This all assumes that Czech win against Turkey, which they probably won’t.
It’s just a matter of whether we play Italy, England, France, or the third placed team.
But the most likely outcome is us finishing second, and playing Italy, Germany, France in that order, LOL. We’ll probably make history as having the roughest 4 games played in a row at a Euro Championship ever (Spain, Italy, Germany, France).
We must try harder. Hail Hydra!!
Beautiful. Hopefully tomorrow no retards try something at the game.
only 100k fine and banning the fans we don’t want in the game???
is this a punishment or a reward?
Yes! Now let’s beat those spaniards!!!!
