A busy winter window for Croatian players, with both established names and young talents making moves across Europe. Several took important steps forward this window.
• Adriano Jagušić: Slaven Belupo → Panathinaikos (€5.2m + €800k add-ons, 20% sell-on)
• Branimir Mlačić: Hajduk Split → Udinese (€4.5m)
• Franko Kovačević: Celje → Ferencvárosi (€3m)
• Dominik Livaković: Fenerbahçe → Dinamo Zagreb (€300k loan)
• Sandro Kulenović: Dinamo Zagreb → Torino (€500k loan)
• Leon Jakirović: Dinamo Zagreb → Inter Milan U23 (€2.5m)
Quick thoughts:
Jagušić’s move wasn’t what many expected with links to Germany, but Panathinaikos play competitive football and are active in the Europa League, so it’s still a solid step. Mlačić’s transfer feels a little early, especially considering Hajduk’s strong development system. Though it was still a strong transfer fee for Hajduk. Jakirović leaving Dinamo feels early. A lack of regular first-team minutes pushed the move, but Dinamo continue to set the standard for player development in Europe, so this move raises some questions. Kovačević, one of the most in-form strikers in Europe, earns a big level-up from Celje to Ferencvárosi as he looks to catch Zlatko Dalić’s attention ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

Anonymous doesn’t know if Rafa Benitez is smoking meth with Clavicular or something these days but check out the incomings / outgoings from PAO in this transfer window [aside, at least one of the Serbs have left] – the good news (I guess) is Rafa is definitely looking to shake it up [another aside, Jedvaj must be doing well if he’s playing every game and hasn’t been shipped out]

Kovacevic isn’t in form – look how many goals he’s scored since Nov 1st (exclude the 2 goals against 4th Slovenian division side in the Cup) – he’s ice cold actually
And, nobody gives Kule any love!
It’s not a dry loan – there is an option to buy – which becomes a 3m obligation to buy if Torino stay in Serie A

Exclusive details on Sandro #Kulenović to #Torino: loan deal with an option to buy that becomes mandatory if Torino remain in Serie A.
€500k loan fee, €3m purchase obligation upon Serie A survival, plus €100k in add-ons once Kulenović reaches 10 combined goals and assists. Dinamo will retain a 10% sell-on clause on the next sale.
Legia Warsaw held a 10% sell-on clause and would receive €360k if all conditions are met.

I believe the deadline to include Jagušić on PAO’s Europa League squad was the morning of Feb 5th…
So I don’t think they were able to make the timeline to include him.
However, Kovačević will be included in Ferencvárosi’s squad.
Relax about PAO’s Europa squad – all it takes is Jedvaj to break either Filip Đuričić or Miloš Pantović leg in training – and Jaga is all good 😉😎
