Former Croatia manager Zlatko Kranjčar passed away at the age of 64 early Monday morning in Zagreb. He was admitted to the hospital in Zadar on February 18th due to a liver issue and was eventually moved to Zagreb as his condition worsened, but was unable to recover, 24sata reports.
Kranjčar was a Croatian football trail blazer. He scored 98 goals in 261 matches for Dinamo Zagreb. Kranjčar scored another 106 goals in 201 matches for Rapid Vienna in Austria. He was capped by Yugoslavia 11 times but only twice by Croatia in 1990. Kranjčar was the first captain in Vatreni history and captained the Croatian side in their first official match against the United States in 1990, scoring in that match.
Zlatko Kranjčar is the father of former Croatia international, Niko, but is better known for managing the Vatreni from 2004-2006, which included the 2006 World Cup in Germany where Croatia opened up against Brazil. Kranjčar was also responsible for giving Luka Modrić his first cap in Croatian checkers.

Truly sounds like a great coach and soccer mind
May he have peace
Who knows if he had a more talented squad…
Dalic will always get full credit but he took over the work
Of others before
Even as some pointed out it was tv repair man cacic who figured out who figured out our midfield
Sad times. I feel he was 50% of the equation when putting together out 2018 golden generation along with Bilic.
Yep sad to see him go.
In other news, Oh, Goran…..
