Dinamo Zagreb remains in first place after a well deserved 1:0 victory on the road over RNK Split in Park Mladeži. The atmosphere was electric in Split as 4,000 Red Devils (along with a Crveni Ðavoli – Komiža – San Pedro banner) supported their team as Dinamo and RNK Split took to the same field for the first time in fifty years. The game featured a Dinamo without Ante Rukavina and Arijan Ademi who are currently serving suspensions for an altercation after practice earlier this week.

In a game full of fouls, Split ultimately won the battle of ball possession and goal scoring chances with the best opportunity coming in the 34th minute when an outstretched Dinamo goalkeeper, Ivan Kelava, tapped the ball to Split’s midfielder, Predrag Šimić, who then kicked the ball wide right a few feet away from goal.

Dinamo rebounded in the second half and scored in the 51st minute after a controversial hand ball pass from Milan Badelj to Adrian Callelo. The Argentine scored his first goal of the season for Dinamo past Split’s goalkeeper Andrija Vuković with a blistering shot that found the back of the net that sent the thirty Dinamo supporters on hand into delirium.
Dinamo goal
Dinamo’s unsung hero today was definitely Mathias Chago who was practically all over the field today for a full ninety minutes. Dinamo’s striker, Fatos Beciraj, had an excellent game today and showed off some of his speed and ability to control the ball.
The game marked the first home-loss of RNK Split and after such emotion leading up to the game, Dinamo came together on the field and celebrated their victory much to the chagrin of the Split players around them who almost caused a riot after voicing their displeasure with the Purgeri.

Former Hajduk Split striker, Ante Rukavina, looks to be on his way out of Dinamo. The 24 year old striker was suspended for Saturday’s game in Split after attacking Arijan Ademi in the Dinamo locker room earlier in the week. “They will both remember what they’ve done. I will severely punish both of them,” concluded Dinamo manager Vahid Halilhodžić.

Rukavina doesn’t seem to be bothered by the suspension, “if they don’t want me here, then sell me. I already have an offer elsewhere.” To make things worse, Ante was seen at the Hajduk-Lokomotiva game in Zagreb.

In front of 2,000 at Maksimir stadium, Hajduk Split squeaked out a 1-0 victory over NK Lokomotiva. Mirko Oremuš would open up the scoring in the 23rd minute after flying by the Lokomotiva defense and putting one past Romeo Mitrović.
In the second half, Hajduk closed themselves up and suffocated the Lokomotiva midfielders. Ljupko Petrović and Lokomotiva had no choice but to play the longball which proved to be ineffective in the end. Lokomotiva did have one chance in the late stages of the match as Ivan Sesar hit the post from just outside the box and Mateo Poljak failed to put in the rebound after missing the target completely.
Hajduk was very fortunate to bring home the three points and with the win remain on Dinamo’s tail for first place. Hajduk remain 4 points below Dinamo, but are now comfortably 7 points in front of Cibalia for 2nd place.

Inter Zaprešić were fortunate to escape with a 2-0 victory as Varaždin was clearly the better team, dominating possession and shots on target but failing to get any of them in the back of the net. Inter Zaprešić would play counter the rest of the match, looking to preserve that 1-0 lead. ~Varaždin manager Samir Toplak
“Don’t think that I am joking when I said that I was more scared playing against Varaždin than Dinamo. They have a very strong midfield and my squad couldn’t keep up. Varaždin dominated the whole match, nd we were lucky to have in form stoppers.”

Klasnic' scored a goal in Bolton's friendly against Cliftonville. Assist was by Coach Owen Coyle of all people.
nice post. thanks.
To all of the anonymous' out there, is it that hard just to sign in as yourself or have a sign-off at the end of your name? Hell, it can be anything, even AnteBisabigfatkomunistdouchebag and I wouldn't care.
Just something, anything…then we can talk about IQ levels.
Actually i find the reaction of the Split fans comical. The verbal attacks on the mujo coaching dinamo were funny. Face it, the fans who go to these games in Cro are low level idiots. I would be very afraid if these guys were in my home.
there was a poll done in croatia in the last couple of weeks and it said that 90% of people who watch the beautiful game cheer for either dinamo or some team in split. the share of that 90% was pretty much 50/50…so i guess there are 16 or so ajduk intellectuals out there…somewhere. i know 3 of them and they all do fantastic monkey imitations.
Nice one anonymous, you just showed the IQ level of every DZ fan out there… yes, all 16 of you.
never heard it in Maksimir????????what planet on are you on. The fans in ZG are idiots just like their brothers on the coast. You must have eyes and ears but are unable to see and hear. go to youtube and find video of dinamo-man U back in 1999 and isten to the monkey noises every time cole and yorke touched the ball.
honestly, some of you need to get a permit to use the internet.

I'm not disagreeing with you on this subject at all, it is shameful to do something like that. But this happened at Maksimir against England when fans were mocking Emile Heskey.
Anonymous,
That's just not true because those chants are heard all over Croatia and Europe. Yes, that includes Maksimir.
Split showed little class yesterday, we can agree on that.
Dinamo went crazy with their celebrations at the end because the fans in Split (as usual, probably the only fans in Croatia who still do it) where making monkey noses at the Dinamo foreign players, so they did it to rub it in.
So far, only Poljud and now that stadium in Split treats 'black' players like that, I've never heard it at Maksimir, whether it was Dinamo or a NT match
the game was way too full of fouls, something like 52. split players showed no class after the final whistle while dinamo players celebrated at mid-field doing a little kolo. the dalmos tried to step in but were unwanted dance partners. vaha has this team on a crazy roll…i just hope it lasts through the euro games.
