In our current poll, CroatianSports.com asked you, “Outside of Soccer, what is your favorite Croatian sport to watch?”
Roughly half of you voted for basketball (46%) with handball (17%) and water polo (13%) rounding out the top three. Bocce stole fourth spot with 12% while 10% voted for “Other.”
Primarily, CroatianSports.com is a soccer site. 90 percent of our news is soccer because that’s what the people want. But there’s a lot going on in other Croatian sports. Handball is perennially a semifinalist at every tournament they play at. Water Polo just finished with silver at the Olympics and are always a force to be reckoned with. And with our current crop of young studs in the NBA, Croatian basketball is back on the rise.
Now I want to open up the thread and see who voted for what. And for you “Other” people, what is your #2 Croatian sport?
There were a few of you that mentioned Briškula and Trešeta in the previous conversation; and even Bela. If you’ve played these card games, you know they get just as competitive as soccer or basketball.
One day, CroatianSports.com will host a Croatian card tournament, one day.

Turn in your Dalmo badge. You don’t deserve to wave the three lion (or leopard) flag (it’s never been confirmed whether those are lions or leopards on that flag).
Zubac and Šarić make it a slam dunk for basketball.
I still you tube Dražen to get my fix on a regular basis.
He woukd tear tiha NBA to shreds with no hand checking.
He would have trained for explosive speed rather than size/strength to ward off Jordan hand checking him.
I love/hate handball … love that we are good but hate that talent is wasted on fringe sport.
Half the guys would be millionaire basketball players.
Basketball / handball, and water polo third.
Rukomet, MMA and boxing. Card game: bela.

Anyway, on the question, i agree with the first commenter, for me it’s prolly Tennis.. that might be cos Handball and Water Polo is never shown in Aus outside of Olympics so i dont get to see much of them
Speaking of seconds, have you guys seen all the European countries doing sketches of “Make Holland Second” etc and having little advertisements for Trump? Anyway Holland started it and a bunch of countries participated, Croatia finally has one now:

My second favorite is Šijavica.
For those who want to watch a 10-minute documentary on Šijavica, here’s a link to a rare film produced about it in Cro:

It’s 10 minutes, but it’s definitely worth the watch.
Long time since I posted on this site. What’s up everybody!
I would have to say tennis. I am a very casual fan but I always follow the results when are guys are playing in some of those major tournaments (Wimbledon, Australian, US, French).
