The 2011 CroatianSports ‘Line of the Year’ and ‘Moment of the Year’ are one in the same. How can we forget Vedran Ćorluka burning the Turkish defense and feeding Ivica Olić in front of the goal in Istanbul to put Croatia up 1-0 in just the second minute of the match in their Euro 2012 first leg playoff? The goal changed the dynamic of the match and the rest of the two-legged affair. Turkey could not regain their composure as Croatia netted two more in the match to stun the Turks 3-0.
Euphoria swept through Croatian viewing parties worldwide as Croatian commentator Drago Ćosić screamed “jedan nulaaaaaaaa, jedan nulaaaaaaaa…Ivica Olić!..druga minuta…!” It will not only be remembered in 2011, but Croatian sports lore for years to come.
Where were you when Olić came through?
You did a great job! This post sound really nice. I saw something similar a couple of weeks ago, something like this https://summitnet04.com/, but you did detailed study, and your article appears to be more compelling
than others. I’m amazed by the arguments you provided as well
as the manner of your post. I like when posts are both informative and interesting, when even dull facts are presented in an interactive manner.
Well, it’s surely about your post.
@ Rob,
Personally, that was my favorite line! We still use it in different forms.
On the global scale, gotta give it up to my boy Cosic….every game he does sounds likes he’s going through puberty.
If you want to go best line of 2011 in terms of CSR postings…..- Ante & Denis can appreciate this one, “It’s 3pm and Team CSR is pretty drunk” (post-Malta game),
@Croatian Crippler
Do you think the end result of the Gonzaga fight had anything to do with Mirko not being able to really turn it up in the UFC? Personally I thought he lost some confidence after that fight. His next fight would have been against Couture if he could have beaten Gonzaga I believe?? That would have been interesting.
A friend of mine told me that prior to the Gonzaga fight CroCop would not train with the cage in his training sessions. Is that true? You have to give him credit though, as he always seemed to be fighting guys that outweighed him by a good margin. The fight against Fedor Emelianenko was a classic as well. I thought Mirko had him but Fedor is an animal! Good fight!
I will never ever forget his performance when he won the Pride Final Conflict Absolute in 2006. That was one for the ages. That kick to the head of Wanderlei Silva was awesome and he makes hamburger meat out of Josh Barnett’s face in the final fight!
Looking forward to your next set of interviews!!
That’s what I like to see. Keep em coming.
Favorite Moment of the Year has to be the TMZ link, thanks Crippler, I am actually watching it right now and they just aired the segment. Said ” we got something for the guys and girls, for the guys pamela anderson on the beach, and for the girls croatian soccer star darijo srna.” HAHA gotta love those baby blue speedos.
Ivan Perišić converts the final penalty kick to send Dortmund through to the DFB Pokal quarter final against Fortuna Düsseldorf today.
Yet another Hrvati converting from the spot TGC! 🙂
New CroCop interview 4 days after his interview. Talk about the man Chuck Norris lol.

Zelg Galesic has signed for four more fights under the Bellator Fighting Championships brand. Article is in Croatian.

He lost his last fight in bellator and the link is below.

This guy has so much potential but he seems to never focus on improving his ground game. Maybe after his last loss he will start training it.

The line of the year is not complete for me without:
“ma pocetak iz snova.. pa taj carli Corluka kojeg smo toliko cekali”
I laugh every time I hear “pa taj Carli Corluka”…
genius to put “Carli” “Corluka” and “cekali” in the same sentence.
It doesn’t look good for Olic. He started today against Bochum and Bayern was down 1-0 at the half. Olic was subbed out at the break for Gomez, Bayern score 7 minutes into the second half. Pranjic still on the bench.
“Španjolci su mi poručili: ‘Sredite Irsku i Italiju, pa ćemo odigrati prijateljsku utakmicu”

he has a great right foot, but what a fruitbag…
Hey guys check out the link just seen it in tmz hahaha

Srna was considered for MOTM performance along with Corluka. I wish Srna played like this every game.
Best Croatia moment: Croatia kicking out Turkey and qualifying for Euro 2012.
Best club moment: Dinamo’s supporters ending the boycott.
Best line: every single line from the BBB at the Mamic press conference.
How come nobody is talking about Srna’s role in this game?
His free kicks and corner kicks are priceless.
Goosebumps every time. “Fantasia”
Would love to know what Srna is saying to Olic at 27 seconds.
Watched this video 100 times over the past month and it never fails to crack me up.
That picture is awesome! Thats gonna be my new screen saver at work!
We need certain players to move to clubs where they get proper playing time.
The momentum from the playoff win can be used a vessel going into the final tournament.
Friendlies are important against quality sides.
Focus on now, not the future.
Ireland game is a must win.
We must gain the respect back in UEFA.
EPL Interest in Pranjic

hopefully we hear more of that in June when we smack the spanish
Beautiful, and the best part is that the future is unwritten! Anything can happen including our players coming into form just before the euros.
