Join the OFFICIAL “Croatia vs Serbia in Las Vegas” FACEBOOK Page
The trip is confirmed! As we line up a block of rooms in Las Vegas and find a proper venue to watch the game, all we ask you right now is to take the weekend off! Make arrangements with your bosses and professors to take Thursday, March 22nd to Saturday, March 24th off. Hang out until Sunday if you want, the CroatianSports.com team will be around. There has been more than enough interest from the North American Croatian contingent to move forward. So it’s time to come together for one crazy weekend in the desert to watch our beloved Vatreni take on Serbia in World Cup qualifying.

As CroatianSports.com nears its five-year anniversary, we are happy to announce our first-ever Croatian Sports convention. For the past couple of years, Ante and Denis have taken their show on the road by visiting New York, Toronto, Vancouver and San Francisco/San Jose. The trips have been an awesome opportunity for the founders of CroatianSports to connect personally with the Croatians they interact with on a daily basis on the site. This year, however, CroatianSports is stepping it up a notch by giving all of you the opportunity to participate in the “road show” experience.
In honor of the Croatia vs. Serbia game, Ante and Denis, on behalf of CroatianSports.com, invite all of you to Las Vegas, Nevada during the weekend of March 22, 2013.
I’m in on this vegas trip, can’t wait. Srbe na vrbe!
Most of the Cro girls in Croatia wont be coming, theyll be going to Germany instead because the pays better, its all about the Euros. bog i harvati dumsdums
@NF
Gotta agree with Ivica.
If Sammir isn’t tearing up the HNL, and just doing average in Russia then he will be less likely to play for the national team.
What are smoking…..the MLS is much better than the Aussie league. How many MLS teams have gone to Australia besides beckham and the galaxy? The galaxy wraps up their season and uses a bunch of juniors and that is what you will base your judgement on? Shit, by the same logic Manchester united and barca also blow because they have lost or tied to teams from third world countries in meaningless friendlies.
When the MLS teams come and play against A league (australian league) teams, they always get their arses handed to them.
Thats how good MLS teams are.
They cant compare to australasian teams let alone european teams.
@ Ivica
you are a fool
@ Tornado
Sammir going to Metalist in the January transfer window would be a dream come true.
He would get no more callups, and the Cro media can focus on something else from now on (ie. Halilovic)
🙂
Sorry about the misinformation earlier. Here is a breakdown of MLS compared to the rest of Europe, along with what it has overtaken in the states.

@TheGoldenChild
Well here in Vancouver the Canucks have a sell-out streak of over 10 years going on right now, and our B.C. Lions get about 30,000 fans a game. Then there was the Grizzlies who even after Michael Heisley sold them to Memphis were still getting about 12,000 fans a game which is more than a lot of NBA teams get today.
Iv been to concerts and sporting events all over North America and I would say the fans in the Pacific Northwest are hands down the best!
Although the crowds at the concerts I’ve seen in Seattle always kind of disappointing considering how awesome their sports fans are.
How did Sammir get it LOL
@ 19 Tornado 65, I dont think 90% of the people on this web site would be able to answer those questions!
In regards to attendance for the soccer this year:
EPL
Bundesliga
MLS
The play is still pretty brutal to watch, but the crowds have picked up. The problem with the “fandom” is that all the teams are so spread apart. You have a couple clubs that have a good fan base: Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Toronto. As you can see they are cities with no other really good professional teams, or they are highly influenced by the Euro culture in the cities.
@ Ziva all Crosports readers, read this this is something you will laugh at http://www.vecernji.hr/vijesti/zelite-li-hrvatsko-drzavljanstvo-ovo-je-100-pitanja-koja-morate-znati-clanak-471008
@Ziva Istina
I don’t believe in the long run the current economic state of the European top teams is sustainable…..similiar to the cracks found in UE member states like Greece, Spain, et al eventually the debt toll will have it’s effect.
Currently, I don’t believe also there is the wherewithal, smarts or transparency within UEFA to implement such a scheme but certainly in our life-time I could see a major re-alignment in how football works globally….needs to start at the top though.

Since all other American teams that win the American leauge become “world champions” why doesn’t the MLS team get that same title? 😉
Vamos United. DC will win trophy #5 this year despite MLS giving the metrostars homefield in the first round playoff.
good point about the financial aspect of MLS. Many of the european club would love ti implement the salary cap structure of MLS into their european leagues. I don’t think it will ever happen because the big club, with the bigger budgets, would never agree for that to place.
Don’t under-estimate the Americans.
Given the success of the NFL and the NBA (yes, I know those leagues are much older) and the insatiable appetite for sports content by fans and networks, and the changing demographics in the USA (hispanic has surpassed African-Americans in terms of greater percentage of population) never say never!
Not to mention the MLS economic model may end up being better in the long run. Given the increasing debt, I wouldn’t be surprised to see more well-known clubs like Rangers go into bankruptcy protection. After all, there are only so many rich Middle East and Russian zillionaires ready and willing to finance their play toys….
If you compare MLS to the top leagues in the world, of course it would stand. We prefer to watch top-tier soccer and that is played in Europe. As much as the MLS will try (and they have gotten much better in the last 10 years) it will never compare to what we see in the top european leagues.
The American MLS is so hard to watch and the fans are so second rate. I watched that Timber game that was on national TV a month ago and it was just so bad. The Portland team and their ugly green uni’s and Gay fans is just to much. There is no grit in that league.
well, when Sammir is on the pitch that is no longer Hrvatska.
Bog, Hrvati i Dinamo
L.A. Galaxy defeat the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 ! Nice comeback , & Hajduk Wins twice this week ! Looking good ! Bog,Hrvati,Hajduk,i Galaxy !!!
Come on Whitecaps!!!
WE’RE BLUE, WE’RE WHITE, WE’RE FUCKIN DYNAMITE!!!
@Ziva
“Ziva Istina always selects Hrvatska”
Except when Sammir takes the pitch….
If what is written in that article is to be believed, then Halilovic has not made up his mind in favor of playing for Cro. If he was trully committed to playing for Cro, he would have came out already and said it. He still may play for Cro, but this is no sure thing.
I’m sure the savez has dome everything they can. At this point I wouldn’t do anything with him. If he wants to go play for BiH, I am cool with that. Nobody should have to beg someone to play for Hrvatska. He either want to play for us or does not.
Ziva Istina always selects Hrvatksa.

@IvicA
I think you’re right. However, the media attention is driving his stock through the roof!
@Anonymous
I would be shocked if Halilovic accepted that U21 BiH callup.
Not that I don’t believe he would ever represent BiH…I just don’t think he wants to start the drama this soon for an U21 callup.

basketball version of boksic* sorry.
bogut is like the basketball version of bogut. always injured but incredible when healthy.
@ Ziva,
My credential request by the Warriors were denied for this Saturday night vs. the Clippers because “Bogut may not be available for this game.” What do they know that we don’t?
How many injury jokes can you rattle off in 20 seconds? GO!
So, the NBA season has started and I am watching he Suns-Warriors game. And look who is playing; none other than porcelain doll Bogut. So, how long before he goes down with another injury. 20, 30 games into the season??? By the way, if anyone here on this website is in touch with porcelain doll Bogut, please tell him to shave. He resembles a Mujahideen fighter in Bosna.
