The Jadranski derbi was played out to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon from Stadion Poljud in Split with 10,000 fans in attendance. Josip Skoko of Hajduk notched the first tally of the afternoon in the 74′, but only to be spoiled by Rijeka’s Damir Kreilach in the 88′. Dinamo Zagreb [ 0-0 ] NK Zadar

HNL leaders Dinamo Zagreb faced a surprisingly stubborn NK Zadar side, as the match ended in a 0-0 draw. Overall, it was an underwhelming and bland contest, falling far below Dinamo’s typically high standards. The result, while great for Zadar, who are looking to avoid relegation this season, will be remembered as a minor blip for Dinamo in what should be another championship season for the Modri.
Šibenik [ 0-0 ] Inter Zaprešić
Cibalia [1 – 0] Lokomotiva
Međimurje [1 – 1] Osijek
Slaven Belupo [0 – 0] Karlovac

Re: Ziva
I think to an extent your right, but for a long time now Dinamo and Hajduk has been trying to get players off other HNL1 sides without giving money.
Dinamo for example seems more interested in dealing with Inter Zapresic and nobody else. You look at the quality of Dodo and Sivonjic and got to wander are they buying a player or just trying to fill the coffers of a feeder club.
Hajduk and Dinamo also have wasted money on rubbish from abroad. Money given to Gremio for Paraiba and Thiaquinhio just to loan those guys could easily gone to a struggling HNL1 side. Its also not like these teams don't have players that Dinamo and Hajduk don't want.
Varteks Smrekar for example is just the same standard as Duje Cop, Ilija Sivonjic, Karlo Primorac. Igor Prahic and Goran Mujanovic were talents but teams want to take them for free rather than giving money. Yes maybe you might come back and say that's good business sense, but its totally killing these football clubs and killing any competition in the league.
Dinamo's foriegner policy has also been bad news for some of these sides. Guilermo Suarez, Miroslav Slepicka, Papadopoulos for example is a waste of money that could have gone back into Croatia.
These ties with Zapresic and Lokomotiva and Zadar and Sibenik ultimately won't be good for Croatian football as the league will get monopolised by Dinamo and Hajduk and the sides they are friendly with. My point basically is there is players at some of these clubs like Zec, Puncec, Alispahic, Smrekar, Ademi who Dinamo and Hajduk clearly want so really could do with throwing them a bone or two now and then rather than offering tiny prices and being happy to watch the clubs starve just cos they didn't accept it.
Its not Hajduk's or Dinamo's responsibility to ehlp other club, although Hajduk does help out Sibenik and Zadar. At the end of the day, its up to the people who run those clubs to make them successful. Survival of the fitest.
My bad, I must have read your post wrong. I read it as one set of teams, and a blanket statement.
For the town of Varazdin to lose their club is a disaster. They are very close to no longer existing. I think Dinamo perhaps could have done something here. Could easily have thrown a little bit of money there way for Smrekar or Roberto Puncec who played the Under 21 match V France. Bit harsh of Dinamo and Hajduk to just let them die.
Michael i think you'd find i was talking about Istra there. Keep up mate.
Varteks have finance??????? Could've sworn they were on the verge of bankruptcy a week ago.
Dinamo result was not too bad as we are now starting to find out more about our players. We were without Badelj and clearly missed him. Sammir and Slepi need to sort their heads out otherwise should go out the exit door at end of the seasons. This dispute with the Croat media is starting to show in their game. Both appear like they don't wanna be at Dinamo no more.
I think Morales still needs another week to sort his head out after his trip to Chile clearly had a effect on him. This would have been a good week to give Antolic a run out. Cufre's playing well .. could easily step up to a stronger league.
I'm glad the league has closed up down the bottom end of the table. Now Istra and Zagreb have closed in it'll be one massive scrap to stay up. I don't believe it looks good for Varteks. Since Prahic and Mujanovic left they've dropped in standard. It'd be bad for Croatian football to lose Varteks and Zagreb or Istra who have potential and finance to do something positive. I think Zagreb have a real chance now. That free kick from Vuga was excellant.
