Here are the results for April 10th…
Hajduk Split [ 2-1 ] Cibalia Vinkovci
HAJDUK CELEBRATES A LATE WIN
In the late night game, Hajduk turned around a 1-0 deficit to defeat Cibalia 2-1. Goals from substitutes Mario Tičinović and Ante Vukusić cancelled out Dino Kresinger’s earlier strike. The lack of a regular goalgetter appears to be catching up with Cibalia who are now being chased down by Šibenik, Hajduk and Karlovac. This was a must win game for Hajduk if they are planning on grabbing Croatia’s second place Prva Liga spot.
MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
HAJDUK SING LIKE THEY WON IT ALL
Dinamo Zagreb [ 1-0 ] NK Lokomotiva
WHAT’S WRONG WITH MARIO?
A penalty by Sammir was enough to give Dinamo Zagreb their latest win over feeder club Lokomotiva. Dinamo are edging closer to yet another title, despite some recent poor performances which would indicate a need to strengthen the squad. Igor Biščan returned to the side today, however Dinamo are not impressing in front of goal despite fielding three forwards. Injuries to Badelj, Morales and Tomečak are also impacting the sides creativity.
NK Osijek [ 0-1 ] Slaven Belupo
Belupo have an outside chance of reaching the top three, while Karlovac are still in the hunt after a 1-1 draw with Varteks. Niko Tokić’s late goal proved a set back for Varteks who were dragged back into danger by an outstanding win for Istra over Zadar. Zoran Vulić has gradually been bringing Istra back into contention and they now moved to fourth from bottom, one place outside the relegation zone. Asim Sehić was the hero scoring twice, moving him to 10 goals for the season.
HNK Šibenik [ 3-1 ] NK Zagreb
Šibenik had no such problems as they got back to their winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Zagreb. With Ermin Zec back scoring goals, the side have two shots at Europa Liga qualification via the league or through the Croatian Cup where they will meet Hajduk Split in the final. Such hopes now appear to be over for Osijek and Lokomotiva who have nevertheless had respectable seasons. Osijek were defeated by Goran Mujanović’s goal at home to Slaven Belupo.
Međimurje [ 1-5 ] NK Rijeka
Zaprešić are also in danger after a shocking 3-1 loss to soon to be relegated Sesvete. Međimurje are however the side to drop into the bottom three as Rijeka went to town on them with a 5-1 demolition show. Vedran Gerc was the man of the match with a hat trick. This was Rijeka’s second strong performance after arguably outplaying Dinamo last week. Although Rijeka’s season seems set to end in midtable mediocrity, there appears potential in the current line up should they keep the current staff together.
NK Istra 1961 [ 2-0 ] NK Zadar
Karlovac [ 1-1 ] Varteks Varaždin
Croatia Sesvete [ 3-1 ] Inter Zaprešić

the original post was meant to honor april 10th, 1941, and croatian soldiers that died in WWII. on that day the legitimate wishes of the croatian people were realized in the creation of their own state, separate from serb-dominated yugoslavia. i didn't mean to start a discussion on what happened after that date. april 10th 1941 has as much significance in croatian history as june 26, 1991 (the day the cro sabor declared independence from communist yugoslavia) or august 5th 1995 (the date knin was liberated).
@Tom,
"In the end, everyone did what they had to do to survive unimaginably horrible circumstances"
huge huge huge post of the day. This summarizes everything.
RE: "I am not trying to start a war or words here with anyone, but some of these areas had more commie lovers than Pavelic lovers."
Your words aren't inciting anyone Ziva. Like usual, you add balance and perspective. People should be made aware that Pavelic sold out Dalmacija.
In the end, everyone did what they had to do to survive unimaginably horrible circumstances.
jebiga….every day is deseti Trvanj is my house….
@Ante…..just a guess here. Is not the LA area filled with hvrati that originally were from the islands (boduli) and parts of Dalmacija? The boduli and parts od dalmacija were never NDH-strongholds. Islands and parts of dalmacija were given by NDH to Italy. So, for them, NDH was never "theirs". I am not trying to start a war or words here with anyone, but some of these areas had more commie lovers than Pavelic lovers. So that would explain the lack of celebration for deseti Travanj.
That and the fact more and more hrvati have forgotten everything about their past. For the diaspora youth that grew up after the war (anyone younger than 25), many cant read, write or speak croatian, so its no surprise they have no clue what deseti Travanj is all about.
Sretan Deseti Travanj svima sa zakasnjenjem! Bio sam u Los Angelesu ovaj vikend i kaj drugo reci osim sramota kaj se DT tice, a g-damn shame. So Cal needs to step their game up on that one

Yep your right.. i wasn't interested in writing the reports how i was writing them before. The way they were done before was almost like two page essays and were extremely time consuming and tiresome.. and it was basically impossible. That style has been well and truly ended. This much shorter format appears on my blog and yes sure CSR is more than welcome to use it during occasions when they feel the need to, but they are also allowed to do it in their own way or use the female correspondent who has been doing it recently and they have been switching between styles which is good. Its a 100% casual agreement which suits all parties much better than how it was before. The way i did it before was just a killer.
@ Anonymous #1,
Yes he did say this in late 2009. However, since then he has been putting up the reports on his website and has said that CSR is more than welcome to use them.
@ Anonymous #1 and #2,
Create a Blogger account so we know who you are. To everyone that reads this, do the same. We want our member page on the top right of CSR to be at 100 by end of summer. Thanks in advance.
@Ante Kvartuč
Oh no … ur quite right 😛
i thought dinamofan said mentioned on numerous occasions he wasn't doing the HNL reports anymore? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Correct me if I am wrong. April 10th was when NDH was formed. I'm no history expert so if you want to educate us, please do. But let's keep the politics to a minimum this time boys.
half the the people here probably don't have a clue what 10-ti Travanj is all about….
belated happy april 10th to CSR!
