The prodigal son has returned! Well, sort of.
Alen Halilović is alive and well and was last sited Monday night scoring a 90th minute game winner for Spanish club Las Palmas in a 1-0 victory over Malaga. The 21 year-old Halilović was supposed to be the “Croatian Messi” but never panned out after a short stint at age 18 with both the Barcelona senior and B squads. Since then, the former Dinamo Zagreb attacking midfielder has been bounced around Europe; playing for Sporting Gijon, then Hamburg, and now on loan at Las Palmas.
Halilović came off the bench in the 62nd minute and scored the game’s lone goal with three minutes left, taking the ball off his chest in the box and sending a relatively soft struck ball just inside the left post for the win.
This should be a good momentum grab for Halilović who has been noted as having attitude issues with coaching staff in the past. He is still young and has time to mature into a great player for Croatia. But don’t expect him to be in Russia this summer.

Burgstaller still had a lot to do, I’d hardly call that an assist.
Pjaca with an assist today as well for a 1-0 win.
rebic goal

We are in Section 126 near the Croatia bench-
I have a guy that sells tickets for Hard Rock stadium.
If anyone is coming to Miami and needs tickets let me know and I will put you in touch with him-
Everyone is surprised by the ticket sales so far-
Will be similar to PSG Juventus we had last year- 50k in the stadium- mostly Peru- sadly but understandably-
I seen the goal now. thats a brilliant composed finish. keeper no chance. unorthodox but exactly what was needed. hope his confidence comes back now
I will be getting the new CRO WorldCup jersey with Halilovic name printed on theback so people can call me a homer lol.
Very underrated player, he will slowly but surely get better and better.
Z
If you go on the stadium website itll show which section is the fan section
…as a big group?
Anybody know the sections where Croatian fans will be sitting in Miami vs Peru?
Modric did have a good day, but when the moments came to get the win he was found wanting, no one can dispute that.
His misses cost Real the win.
Soft strike well place or the goalie didn’t see it???? I say the latter.

Kovacic – Pjaca – Halilovic
All three turned the corner with their game and then had a bad injury to thwart their progress.
They were all playing well before their respective injuries.
All look healthy and should be given opportunity to shine in March.
Then bring the whole crew together for Brazil in London.
And then go make a run in Russia.
Forgive my redundancy but I feel that the National program has a responsibility to develop young talent.
Germany is the gold standard for this.
The fact that our HNL is broke and dysfunctional puts more of an onus for HNS to provide this service.
Funny as Amerikanac I have two dysfunctional FA’s to live through.
Truth Troll claiming to be “correct” about something again. That can only mean he predicted all possible outcomes as possible, e.g “it could be heads, it cpuld be tails…. look! I was right”.
Where the hell is the announcement of the Croatia v Brazil game in London?!?!?!?!?!?!
And why are we gonna play three North/South American teams?
Soft strike or well placed? I say the latter, but maybe because I play soccer and know you don’t try to blast everything into the top corner.
No one else mentioned it so I thought I would.
Well it’s nice to see me correct again
One of my predictions for the new year was halilovic would respond and have the site, especially the diaspora, clamoring for him to be called up
Better be A team versus peru since I bought a ticket for the game.
young fringe players vs peru and the veterans vs the tryhard mexicanos
Halilovic finally changed that stupid 80s hairstyle and grew it out into a ponytail. Probably the reason he scored.
On a serious note, he’s got the talent to be a National Team player. Probably a good winger for us on that right side (behind Pjaca).
You never know, he’s still 21. Just another one of our dozens of prospects that could put it together. Just need a few to pan out.
Modric had a soft struck shot as well that missed against Levante, would’ve given Real the win.
Oh yeah, he had a point blank header as well that missed.
No one else mentioned it so I thought I would.
Should say for sure. Lol
Fof sure soul champ
@ Zee
I say fill the March friendlies with all the fringe young talent.
Veteran core should stay home and rest.
Ya soul. Lets see what he’s got. God willing he matured and got better.
@ Dalić
Put him down for March !
