Bayern Munich face Inter Milan TODAY at 2:45PM (ET) at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, Spain where the 2010 European champion will be crowned. Ivica Olić will surely get the start up top for Bayern while Danijel Pranjić’s fate is still unknown regarding a starter’s role. This is arguably the biggest game any Croatian has ever took part in.

IN INTERNATIONAL NEWS…
NIKE’S NEW WORLD CUP COMMERCIAL
How big is the World Cup? Big enough to get Didier Drogba, Fabio Cannavaro, Franck Ribery, Wayne Rooney, Andres Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas, Roger Federer, Ronaldinho, Kobe Bryant, Cristiano Ronaldo and even Homer Simpson in a three-minute commercial. Ronaldinho made the cut even though he didn’t make the 2010 Brazilian squad. Sorry bud.
Maybe Luka Modrić will partake in the 2014 version.
@ ziva
i agree, spurs would definitely need to add some powerful impactful strikers to make it deep in to the CL.
While it was a surprise Bayern made it, for Spurs it would be a miracle. Different class.
If Spurs is able to qualify for the Champions League, Spurs will have a hard time making it out of the group stage.
Spurs still needs to add to their roster to have the depth to compete in the CL.
they missed ribery big time. i don't know if his play would've changed the outcome, but there's no doubt it would've changed the look of the game. inter's defense was machine-like organization. ribery's style would've broken that down a bit, but whose to say if bayern would've capitalized.
all in all it was a great CL campaign for bayern. they over-achieved in a big way. let's hope we're having this discussion about spurs in the final next year. it's a longshot for spurs, but not much more than it was for bayern this year.
This is the same Inter team that shut down Barca almost entirely, so theirs no shame for Olic or Bayern(well, except Muller maybe).
Van Bommels no sub- he's quality. I wish Croatia had him.
ahhah JP thought Olic would have a big day..
I knew it would be tough for Olic to play a decent game, thats why i said i would take my hat of if he did score,Just knew he wouldn't..
Knew that Pranjic would not see a minute also,If Ribbery were there,I wonder if the result would have been the same,Anyhow Inter truly did deserve it,
Muller missed a sitter, If he had got that early in the second half, Bayern would have had a chance, but then again Truly got nothing from OLic at all,Had a Shocker..
OLIC IS WHACKKKKKKKKKKKKK
HE REALLY WON IT TODAY… O MAN
DZEKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
nike owns umbro
DF, agreed 100%. Inter's defence was just much better than Bayern's. Each Bayern attacker was double and triple teamed. They put pressure on them. Inter's strikers were left one-on-one with a Bayern defender for the most part. Mourinho is a great coach.
Umbro is owned by Nike.
The Nike commercial is OK, no whre near as good as the commercial in 02 with the Brazilians in the airport.
There was nothing in this game for Olic. It wasn't open enough to get through that Inter defence. For Bayern i think its good they didn't win it as it would paper over some of the cracks. They need a new right right so Lahm can return left side and the also need a new centre back and a new central midfielder. Van Bommell, Demechelis and Badstuber are just squad players unfortunately.
I think Altintop will get the nod ahead of Pranjic to cover for Ribery spot on the left. That said, I think he'll have some role to play in the final, probably coming in as a sub late in the second half.
Also, I'm sure that Olic will have a good night. This is the biggest night of his career and as he already gives so much on a normal night I can't imagine what he'll come up with tonight.
@ Fisto,
Fantastic Observation. Maybe Umbro just said 'jebi ga', our international kits are worn by 2 superworld stars who are Nike endorsed players. (Rooney and Drogba). They're going to be in the Nike commercial regardless, we might as well cut a deal with Nike and make sure these players can be seen properly in Umbro kits.
There's not a chance Adidas or Puma would 'sell their soul' to Nike though. That's why Ribery and Cannavaro are wearing generic. Umbro not as big.
My mind says Inter will score first and park the bus in front of goal in typical Italian fashion the remainder of the match for a 1-0 win. My heart says 2-1 Bayern in extra time; and that one of these goals will be scored by Olic.
my mind says Inter 2-1, my heart says Olic scores winner in extended time.
I say Inter wins in PK's 4-3
No matter what, Its going to be a big day for every player in that Stadium,Would love to see Bayern run out on top & a Goal by Olic..but Inter's defence is very tough, will be very hard to crack,If he scores ill take my hat of to him, best of luck..
Good Luck Bayern Munchen..
I think Olic will have a big day tomorrow.
Maybe Pranjic gets in due to Ribery's absence. Perhpas he can play spoiler somehow.
Go Bayern!
2 things about the commerical that caught my eye.
#1 No Ronaldinho in the world cup and they decided to show him anyway.
#2 No Adidas or Puma logo on the shirts of Ribery and Cannavaro, respectively, but an Umbro logo on Rooney's shirt?… Does Umbro have some kind of agreement with Nike?
Overall great commercial, as most World Cup, European Championship commericals are.
